@@fiftysquiggly yeah unfortunately, it being on a dead console (x360) makes an official port/translation impossible, and extremely difficult for a fan project to do. They would have to port it to PC unofficially. The only instance I know of where this has been done is Project Umineko, props to those guys. Most TL groups will not have the knowledge to do that.
Yeah, you're right. And also there are no H scenes in this VN, so there wouldn't be much to remove as well. Then that's great! :D Give it a shot if you find some time for another VN, once you get into it, it's really amazing.
Generally because it is not only a recent release and a Japanese title. But also an Xbox 360 exclusive. If anywhere there may be some videos on Nico, but that would require quite some searching for something that may not even be there none the less.
I... erm, really hope they didn't change the story in this remake. Did they? Because I loved the story in the original. It made me... really enjoy this visual novel to the fullest. A baffling story indeed. :D
Play the original version over this any day - this remake just alters too much from the original game and fills the OP with spoilers too... there are ways to patch in the higher quality audio from this version to the original game on PC, so I'd say just do that and stick with the original version if you can find a way to acquire it. Really hope someone can release a new physical/digital version for the original Ever17 in the English market with a touched-up/improved translation alongside the other titles in this series proper (including Never7, Remember11, and 12Riven).
+qwertyuio There is an extra character sitting with them at the bar that you do not see throughout any of the 4 characters routes. :) I'm pretty sure any intelligent human would notice that since the character is no where else in the opening. Whatever, at least the song is good.
First of all there isn't a single major character that you don't see through first 4 character paths, although you may not recognise at first glance what are you looking at. Secondly all the characters in the drinking scene appear in the opening, from left it's Sara, Coco, You, Kid, Takeshi and some black haired person i believe to be Tsugumi. So no, the opening isn't really spoilery if you don't know what you're looking at.
I prefer this energetic OP over the dull original one any day. The PC version's OP almost put me to sleep, just like the VN itself. God, this visual novel is dull af.
It the same story in the sense of how things play out, but sometimes events happen in different order and sometimes a big chunk of the dialouge is taken out. If I were to put an estimate I would say the good and bad changes are even.
Man, I know the chances are slim as hell, but I would love for this to get localized.. but I'm sure that they would make very little money on it. It's a damn shame :/
If they made money on 999 / Zero Escape, they could have made bank on this. I think the license / rights holders was a bit funky though. Is this version XBox exclusive? Dang shame.
Oh and what I said pretty much applies to all VNs remade on consoles. And I checked the ratings for this and wow ranked #5 impressive. Definetly gonna try this out. Not to mention some all ages fun may do me some good. Right now I am playing MUV LUV Alternative (which is ranked #1 and with good reason) so I may play Ever 17 after XD.

I already know the story and little changes is not gonna make that big a difference. Its not like Fate and Tsukihime, where a higher production value means more epic fight scenes.
I wouldn't worry about it, if anything stuff would just be added here and there. Not to mention it'd probably be a huge pain in the ass to make significant changes to an already insanely long VN. And just about the only thing that might be removed would be H scenes and things of that nature but as far as I know Ever 17 is all ages. And hmm Baffling huh? I might consider playing this since it does sound and look good even though I already have like 1000+hours of VNs to play but oh well.

woah woah wait now I am confused. I started playing this a while ago and hour upon hours I haven't see Sara once since the start. Though I am playing from Takashi's point of view though so idk if she will or will not show up ever. Kinda wanna see whats she's like.
There is, but most of it is solely relegated to fleshing out most of the characters. The only real problem though is that it is alot less subtle. (Example: Tsugumi wears different clothes in the 2039 and its more hinted that she is the mother to Kid and Sara) This is really a remake for fans and not for newcomers. Not that its bad though. Even wth less subtlely, its still hard to figure out all the mysteries and better voice acting and switching some scenes bring forth much more emotion then PC.

No. Order of whose story you played does not effect events in the game. There's a reason that Coco does not appear in Kid's story (Except for a few moments) which ties into the main plot.

I mean in the PC version all he did was accidentally make a future that was paradoxical, this is the same person splitting into two people thats a whole different level of random
I've played like two paths so far (both gave me a good ending, luckily). But I am not quite sure about what's wrong at 0:36 Is it because you cannot have Coca & Sara together in a route? I'm only randomly guessing, because playing the Sara one, Coco would only vaguely appear ghost-like at times and did not affect the outcome while when I was playing as Takeshi (Tsugumi path) Coco was there and it was Sara who was completely absent.

They actually made two different CGs for the party, the OP has them kinda layered on top of each other.

The 3D character models aren't as horrible as I had imagined. In fact, they look pretty damn good. I also love the new background design.
