As someone who goes to Singapore almost every year, here are some tips... You can walk around and around the Jewel waterfall in the forest walkways. It's a concrete path on multiple levels. Its kind of a hike. There are many viewing spots to see the waterfall. Also, seek out the employee canteen. It's a hawker center with good cheap food. It's on the 2nd floor of one of the parking structures and open to the public, if you can find it.😁
If you are at Terminal 2, on the 2nd level, head to the right of the terminal towards the car park. Another is at Terminal 1 at either B1 or B2. It's inside the terminal and accessible by lift.
7-11 in Singapore is an expensive shop. Just walk into any shopping centre and go to the basement level and you will find a general Supermarket. For instance at the Jewel, there are two supermarkets at B2 and B1.
@@BingoandBinewActually I know a lot of my friends and other Singaporean that get food and snacks from 7-11 especially the onigiri (it is cheaper than most sushi shop and supermarkets sushi) and sandwich as a quick snack. As it is affordable and east to eat. While for the pre make food, people only get when there are carving for it or the lunch hour is short and there are long queues everywhere. But most of the pre make food as still petty afford. Other than that, all the other stuff are expensive
A couple of tips for the next time you guys come - (1) there is a lounge (Priority Pass accessible) in Jewel itself - Changi Lounge which provides almost the same services as the airside lounges (at Level 1 - 304). (2) Just nearby the restaurant you had dinner, there is an actual food court (hawker style) with a variety of stalls and they are even more affordable.

Jewel is on the outside, the skytrain that passes through Jewel is on the airside. That skytrain gives you the closest and best view to the rain votex.
I know I'm a bit late to this, but hey I'm glad you guys get to enjoy Changi Jewel Even for a little bit. Best Part in Jewel is definitely the waterfall hands down, but if you do have some time at night the bars at the top Level do occasionally have Bands playing at evening peak hours. I can find out the names of the bars if you want to check those out.

I usually stay at the YOTEL in the Jewel for overnight layovers, it is a bit expensive but very convenient if you cant be bothered going into central Singapore.

I had a similar issue in Fiji. They didn't allow you to get your ticket until 3hrs before, so when I arrived a little over 4hrs before, i had to sit around for like an hr. Not as bad as your situation, though 😅. Seems like you two made the most of it.

The smoking lounge at T3 airside is the most beautiful in the world! Larger than most smoking lounge, air-conditioned, non-smoky with a Zen Garden with rivulets, mini waterfall and fountain with soothing water gushing and music, and you can see the airplanes landing and parking. Super cool!
7-11 is not cheap. Is like whenever I travel to a foreign country, I will always get a bottle of water at the supermarket iso bookstore or a general store. But provided there is one around :) btw, there is a Japanese store Don Don Donki at the basement of Jewel and you can also get a lot of japanese bento boxes and sushi and the the price will be 30 to 40% less after 8ish or 9pm.
@@BingoandBinew you can literally get all the Japanese snacks and food ftom japan at don don donki. Sometimes my siblings and I will shop there in our area to buy wagyu beef and jap sweet potatoes and vegetables for our little furbaby princess :)

real late but im singaporean and just gonna say that no one is really "stranded" in changi airport. even us singaporeans purposely come and stay in the airport overnight to work, study etc. so yeah its basically 247 area

There are various ways to do it, but it would depend on where you’re from and what sort of incentives are offered there.
