The output of a mix bus is connected to the input of the reverb. The output of the reverb is connected to a channel on the mixer, usually an aux input. Whether you're using outboard gear, a plug in, or the built in FX. It's the same process.
Good, helpful video! I'm curious though, can you set up an effects send/return on a digital mixer for external effects? Like is that possible? I'm new to digital mixers and I don't even have one yet, but I'm curious if I could use my own effects as outboard gear still? Anyway...thanks!
Glad you made this video, I find that reverb in the right room is Fantastic ! But using it in an unrelated room ( that’s already very “live “ ) can destroy your mix. Thanks for explaining , when I ever get a chance to use it in an good room I may try it . 👍🏾 I use the X-32 and the FX setup is confusing , I ran into a feedback problem so kept away from using it .
This is awesome! Can you do a video on how to use an effect plugin in a daw and get it patched via Dante to run through a mixer? Ex. Reverb plugin in the daw sent via Dante to a Vox verb fader on the mixer.
It depends.. some reggae bands require a lot of effects. dedicated effects per instrument or individual drums. I also like pre fader sends to fx. its a bit more tricky on digital as you may need to access flip fader in a pinch to unsend a channel but you can also jus the bus layer and pull the master send for that effect and end the effect.. and so I guess I just mix differently on digital than analog where I can quickly turn any knob
