Never thought I’d see Abraham Lincoln chillin to Opeth but I’m satisfied
Hahaha xD I see it now!
Celloing*
Now I'm curious what Porcelain Heart and The Drapery Falls would sound like on Cello.
YASSSSS. Especially the growl from Drapery Falls. :-)
I wanna listen that cover!!!
EndeAbgrunds a fair judgment would be awesome.
Duuuuuude ♡♡♡♡
Beautiful. You know music is great when it converts to classic orchestra instrumentation well.
it doesn't have to work well in an orchestra to be good music
Yvan Cluet No, but you know it is good when it does.
ah yes, true. Except bad claisscal music :p
well.. when you write classical music on modern instruments it converts pretty seamlessly
That depends mostly on how it is arranged. You can have bad arrangements and good arrangements (like this one). A bad arrangment can ruin what is otherwise a beautiful piece.
God damn. I did not know it was possible to turn a masterpiece into a master piece. Man, what i would pay to hear all of Opeth covered by you. Thanks man, beautiful
this some next level type goodness shit boi
thought I'd see you here flug
Tunaboy45
ye i know where the good stuff is
Welcome to: "How to make a Progressive Metal song sound 10x times more dramatic and like the soundtrack of an epic movie"
Step 1- get Nine Cellos
The same step 1 applies as an answer to the question, how to make a nice bonfire.
It's not progressive metal (and it's not written like that). The entire song is in 4/4. It's just a rock song.
Step 2 - get Nine clones of yourself
Doesn't change the fact that Opeth is a prog band and that they produce prog rock. It's like saying Beatles made that one Helter Skelter song so they're basicly a rock-band. Doesn't work
Because, as we all know, you can't be progressive if you're in 4/4.
Oh the memories with this song, amazing work dude!
I was just playing Dark Souls and only now I'm seeing your comment here, wtf :D
please we need more cellopeth!!! (suggestions: in the mist she was standing
forest of october
blackrose immortal
advent
the night and the silent water
to bid you farewell
april ethernal
demon of the fall
moonlapse vertigo
the moor
face of melinda
bleak
blackwater park
deliverance
masters aprentices
etc etc
lucas arteta Don't forget Ghost of Perdition
I can't even begin to imagine how fucking amazing "To bid you farewell" would sound played by cello
Those are some superb suggestions.
Antimage ..benighted
To hear this - a nostalgic favorite of mine - interpreted in this particular style is a very special thing. It's almost archaic, as if my soul is being gripped by the voices of a past life. This is a privilege, and an expansion to musical horizon. Thank you so much.
Definitely doesn't need singing or lyrics as other comments have said. Works beautifully as it is!
i wouldn't mind some operatic female vocals in a dubbed version
PLEASE DO MORE!! I would love to buy an entire Opeth cello cover album! Remember Piano Damnation by Kalle Kappner? It was sooo good!
Checkout his work in the band Leprous. He contributes there although he isn't an official member of the band.
Now I want to watch a Lord of the Ring movie...
Crazy how Opeth reminds me and so many others of lord of the rings
This is way better than lotr soundtracks
More like game of thrones
@@jeremyfilliasconvertini1125 really ?calling me an idiot? Really. I pitty your soul
Absolutely incredible. It feels to me like if Hans Zimmer had adapted Blackwater Park for a film score. Amazing.
This is my fourth UA-cam comment in about 4 years but I just needed to say how beautiful this is. Fantastic adaption of my favorite song.
ok this sounds like it should be the music for a medieval fantasy RPG
Just imagine, The Night And The SIlent Water!

Made a beautiful song even more beautiful.
So true
😢
I cried the best kind of cry. Thanks for making me feel so much in so little time.
Reminded me of Ramin Djawadi work for Game of Thrones, absolutely astounding!
Was thinking the same! Any epic fantasy would fit this for a soundtrack!
WHERE can i buy this track in hi-def?? *angrily throws money at the screen*
I would love to know aswell
Toni Huber, I would even like to have it just on Google Play Music. It's not very convenient to listen to it on the go via youtube app.
Under no circumstances should you use Audacity to record system audio with minimal loss. Never set the audio input host (dropdown menu to the top-left, should be "MME" by default) to WASAPI, then next to that select "[your playback device] (loopback)" to do this because copyright infringement is a serious crime.
It's a crime to keep a free video offline so you can listen to it off the grid? What a weird world we live in.
Lol who cares? We all steal music.
Blown away. Just, completely blown away.
Felt shivers down my spine... When true talent embraces feeling this is the result.
It is a gorgeous rendition!
*0* This cover makes this song even more emotional and melancholic, love it.
Raphael you are a monster! No body can play like you!
Instantly one of my favorite covers of all time. Great job!
Fantastic! Mesmerising arrangement of one of my favourite songs ever.
Thank you.
The last minute is mental
Definition of perfection.
The Night and The Silent Water at the end, nice touch!
I had shivers. So incredible!! Two of my favorite things combined: Opeth and cello
Super underrated channel
I had hard time to pick up the melody at the beggining, but I don't say that's a flaw, it is, sometimes, the beauty of the arrangements, to deviate a little from the original. Good stuff, mate.
Wow... I cried. So beautiful!
As a fan of Classical music as well as metal, rock, jazz and all sorts of stuff, this arrangement blows my mind. Totally captures the beauty of this song in a genuine Classical sounding way. Bravo! More Opeth arrangements please!
This is just otherworldly !!
on my list for funeral songs. epic cover well played
How did I not see this until now??? How do you not have millions of subscribers??? What the holy hell is going on here????
This is what you feel when you get melancholic in heaven
HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS?! This is TALENT dude bravo
At 4:04 sounds like an epic explosion scene with no sound while the hero saves the girl in the nick of time.
Better stuff than Apocalyptica, any time! I love this! I can feel this in my skin :3
I feel like I’ve gone insane. I’m crying, but am almost gleefully happy. This is amazing. One of my favorite songs in the world brought to new heights. \,,/ \,,/

Magnificently majestic
This sounds like it could be on the soundtrack to a huge fantasy RPG/film/series.
Like on a battlefield after the battle has ended.
Gorgeous beyond words
The production quality put in to these videos is truly incredible
This is so very beautiful
Wow that was just so beautiful those melodies Mikael Akerfeldt writes just drip with melancholy and utter heart break but this song don’t make you sad and keep you there it let’s you experience the emotional turmoil that you’ve suppressed and allows you to deal with it.
What a beautiful cellos cover, impressing!! The sound is so, sooo good, so emotive. Congratulations! One of the most beautiful songs of Opeth
Simply beautiful. Harvest is definitely one of the best composition from Mikael of Opeth. It will sound good in any style you play it.
