Never thought I’d see Abraham Lincoln chillin to Opeth but I’m satisfied
Hahaha xD I see it now!

Beautiful. You know music is great when it converts to classic orchestra instrumentation well.
it doesn't have to work well in an orchestra to be good music
Yvan Cluet No, but you know it is good when it does.
ah yes, true. Except bad claisscal music :p
well.. when you write classical music on modern instruments it converts pretty seamlessly
That depends mostly on how it is arranged. You can have bad arrangements and good arrangements (like this one). A bad arrangment can ruin what is otherwise a beautiful piece.
Now I'm curious what Porcelain Heart and The Drapery Falls would sound like on Cello.
YASSSSS. Especially the growl from Drapery Falls. :-)
I wanna listen that cover!!!
EndeAbgrunds a fair judgment would be awesome.
Duuuuuude ♡♡♡♡
Super underrated channel
God damn. I did not know it was possible to turn a masterpiece into a master piece. Man, what i would pay to hear all of Opeth covered by you. Thanks man, beautiful
Oh the memories with this song, amazing work dude!
I was just playing Dark Souls and only now I'm seeing your comment here, wtf :D
Welcome to: "How to make a Progressive Metal song sound 10x times more dramatic and like the soundtrack of an epic movie"
Step 1- get Nine Cellos
The same step 1 applies as an answer to the question, how to make a nice bonfire.
It's not progressive metal (and it's not written like that). The entire song is in 4/4. It's just a rock song.
Step 2 - get Nine clones of yourself
Doesn't change the fact that Opeth is a prog band and that they produce prog rock. It's like saying Beatles made that one Helter Skelter song so they're basicly a rock-band. Doesn't work
Because, as we all know, you can't be progressive if you're in 4/4.
PLEASE DO MORE!! I would love to buy an entire Opeth cello cover album! Remember Piano Damnation by Kalle Kappner? It was sooo good!
Checkout his work in the band Leprous. He contributes there although he isn't an official member of the band.
Absolutely incredible. It feels to me like if Hans Zimmer had adapted Blackwater Park for a film score. Amazing.
this some next level type goodness shit boi
thought I'd see you here flug

ye i know where the good stuff is
To hear this - a nostalgic favorite of mine - interpreted in this particular style is a very special thing. It's almost archaic, as if my soul is being gripped by the voices of a past life. This is a privilege, and an expansion to musical horizon. Thank you so much.
Definitely doesn't need singing or lyrics as other comments have said. Works beautifully as it is!
i wouldn't mind some operatic female vocals in a dubbed version
I cried the best kind of cry. Thanks for making me feel so much in so little time.
This is my fourth UA-cam comment in about 4 years but I just needed to say how beautiful this is. Fantastic adaption of my favorite song.
As a fan of Classical music as well as metal, rock, jazz and all sorts of stuff, this arrangement blows my mind. Totally captures the beauty of this song in a genuine Classical sounding way. Bravo! More Opeth arrangements please!
The Night and The Silent Water at the end, nice touch!
Blown away. Just, completely blown away.
*0* This cover makes this song even more emotional and melancholic, love it.
Felt shivers down my spine... When true talent embraces feeling this is the result.
It is a gorgeous rendition!
Fantastic! Mesmerising arrangement of one of my favourite songs ever.

Wow... I cried. So beautiful!
Wow that was just so beautiful those melodies Mikael Akerfeldt writes just drip with melancholy and utter heart break but this song don’t make you sad and keep you there it let’s you experience the emotional turmoil that you’ve suppressed and allows you to deal with it.
This is just otherworldly !!
How did I not see this until now??? How do you not have millions of subscribers??? What the holy hell is going on here????
Dark and beautiful masterpiece
Reminded me of Ramin Djawadi work for Game of Thrones, absolutely astounding!

That is awesome, thanks for sharing, sir.
Magnificently majestic
My favorite metal ballad on my favorite instrument 🥰 can't even count the amount of times I've played this since I heard it
I think this is one of my favorite Opeth songs. You did it justice!
I played cello for 4 years, love this instrument a lot when used like this, true beauty!
I had hard time to pick up the melody at the beggining, but I don't say that's a flaw, it is, sometimes, the beauty of the arrangements, to deviate a little from the original. Good stuff, mate.
damn... this sounds so distinct, yet so familliar... :)
those key changes are still just as glorious
The embodiment of beauty.
This is so very beautiful
Outstanding and once again out of the park, Raphael!
Heard your stuff on the new Leprous album, it adds so much to it. The Last Milestone is beautiful.
I feel like I’ve gone insane. I’m crying, but am almost gleefully happy. This is amazing. One of my favorite songs in the world brought to new heights. \,,/ \,,/
Gorgeous interpretation! Well done!
Thank you so much!
This is stunningly beautiful and emotional. It gives me a throwback to my times in music school, where I was playing cello. My god I wish I had one now...
Now I want to watch a Lord of the Ring movie...
Crazy how Opeth reminds me and so many others of lord of the rings
This is way better than lotr soundtracks
