Just wanted to say thanks, this was way better than the instructions or lack their of. For those with a manual transmission, don't forget to release the ebrake before testing your wiring configuration/operation.
@SnailTrail4x4 the ebrake has a switch that acts as the parking brake and doesn't allow the drl to work until released. I thought I had problems with my drl and newly installed grill as only the amber lights worked when testing, only to later find out all I had to do was release the ebrake to see everything worked great. Granted, I just went from a 98 taco xcab to a 2016 taco quadcab, very different beasts.
Update: My daytime running lights on the new grill worked, but seemed dim. After re-reading others comments below and on other sites, I checked and sure enough, when the lights were on the daytime running lights on the new grill became bright, not dim like the truck daytime running lights. Flipped two wires and viola! When the truck is started and the daytime running lights come on, the daytime running lights on the grill light up bright. When the lights are turned on, both the truck and grill daytime running lights dim. The wiring for the passenger side of a 2016 Tacoma Limited 4x4 is red to green, white to blue, and black to black/white. I found also that the red connectors made a better connection than did the blue connections. All is good now, love the grill.
2020 Blinker wiring: Fyi for the 2020's the blinker wire to splice into, on driver side is peach color. It's the lighter of the 2 blues on the passenger side. When you pull out the DRL/Blinker plug, the lower 3 wires are for the DRL. The upper 3 are for the blinker. The Peach and the Lighter blue are the upper right wires on the plug. Raptor 2.0 with TSS and front facing camera is installed and looks awesome!
Are the letters removable? I’m trying to find letters I can put on my current aftermarket grill, exactly the same as yours but without the emblem. Any links or help towards where to buy these would be greatly appreciated! Looking for the letters specifically.
I have a ‘17 SR5 and my headlights do not have the LED DRL’s when you explain the part where you connect the black white and red wires it gets confusing. Is mine a different set up than yours referring to the connections going to the headlight? On yours Is the LED DRL a whole separate plug from the headlight plug?

Still waiting on advice, this video was recommended from the manufacturer... My tacomas daytime running lights are the turn signal blinkers (closest to the grill) no combination of wiring seems to work properly...do you usually wait months to respond?

I bought a grill from someone locally but it did not have the unit control voltage input 12v. I’ve looked all over to find this sold separately and have not found it. Is there anyway to install this without it?

Save that grill man, you will regret giving it away. Love the lights in the grill but not so much the toyota lettering. I wish they made a Trd pro grill with all the lighting this one Has.
Tried installing this same grill on my ‘17 SR5. My DRLs and turn signal are the same bulb. How would I hook up the blue wire to activate the LED turn signal? Driver side is hooked up with no problem for signaling left but when I signal right, both LEDs come on with the driver side blinking white and the passenger side blinking orange. Any advise?
I have the same problem: my base 2016's DRLs are halogen (and the same bulb as my directionals) it appears the wiring set up is for LED DRLs. I was looking thru comments on the seller's page (I bought from a different vendor) and one guy bypassed the DRLs themselves and wired into the DRL fuse with a fuse tap. I'm wondering if that'll work for us Ann?? Any thoughts on this 4x4 dude?
I'm paused on the scene at 6:18 where you show the "control box" thingy. I ordered a grille off ebay and it looks to be THE EXACT SAME THING. Does the guy you ordered from just modify the Ebay grille with lettering? The wiring colors and the sequence all the same. And for the TSS Sensor I ordered a bracket from AJT which relocates the sensor OFF of the grille.
I was able to get the amber lights to work, and had the DRL grille lights working, but the can't get the blinkers to work. And now neither the DRL grille lights or the blinkers work. Any idea if there is a specific size splice clamp you need for these wires? wondering if mine is too big.

So I’ve had my on for 2 months or so and the day time running lights keep turning on. I’ll have the lights off, truck locked and they will just turn on. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the grille or if the guy who did the wiring messed something up but yeah, the driving lights in the grille are like possessed or some shit. Worry about it draining my battery but even more, my truck catching fire.
Wondering if you found a solution to this. Mine is similar except only the raptor lights come on randomly. Also sometimes when making a right turn the whole right blinker goes off until I have completed the turn.

First off if your in California (not sure how it works in other states) your not allowed to run blue lights on your vehicle because it's impersonating a cop. You might be ae to find some blue ones and swap them out but I would contact the bender and see if he makes custom ones
This grille is the best one I have ever seen. But my problem is that I haven't found it for my 2018 Tacoma. Only for 2016-17 models. Do you know what I can do? Also I live in Mexico, so that makes it a little more complicated 😅

They are removal, they appear to only be 3m tapped on. If you contact Tacovinyl I'm sure you can order the letters separate.

The DRL dim when the headlights go on. Maybe you have them switched

Not that I know of, maybe you can plug the wires into the same relay as the DRL and Blinker. But these splicers I used are working great

To make sure you could cut the wires and splice them together. You don't want a loose connection

Both, it's daytime running lights until you turn on the blinker then it'll blink as soon as the blinkers done it'll go back to daytime running lights

Blue wire goes to pass directional and yellow goes to driver side directional correct? Then 3 other wire go to pass running lights? Is this correct??

They are right on the front center... But my truck doesn't have them

Im installing mine currently and my Headlight drls are going dim when I try to test check the drls on the grille which come on bright as the headlights should. Im following the wire diagram for the passenger side hook up. Which is R-B, W-G, BL-WH/BL any ideas?

are you saying the DRL on the Tacoma are going dim when you turn on the headlights?

SnailTrail4x4 what did you do with the adaptive cruise sensor? I have a 2018 trd off-road and I’m having trouble finding a grill other than the oem pro.
Hey man I have 3 wires on my turn signals and watching different videos they only show 2. The raptor lights are working but the DRL and turn signals are not. Any advice?
