"My work is my life, and you both are a part of that now." See, that perfectly sums up why, even though I HATED Mr. Collins in the book, I actually really like him here. He's not a bad person, he's just self-absorbed and single-minded. He's genuinely enthusiastic about what he does, and it's not that he doesn't care about Lizzie and Charlotte -- his ambitions and pride just blind him to their feelings sometimes. But he really is trying to be kind and welcoming to Lizzie, and starting around the videos where she comes to visit Collins & Collins, she realizes that and even appreciates it.
yeah this version of mr collins is actually really wholesome. hes a little pretentious, a little annoying, but he has good intentions and i really love this version of him
Good Lord, they turned de Bourgh's daughter into a creepy-looking dog in this series - a good contrast to Lydia's "Kitty," I guess. It's funny to think that de Bourgh tried to marry Anne off to Darcy in the book, so good save with the arrival of Caroline as a potential love interest instead (she takes to the role perfectly) :)
(Years too late) Caroline is a love interest for Darcy in the book too - she wants to marry Darcy, she's just unaware that Lady Catherine (and Lady Darcy) have already decided that Darcy will marry Anne. It's why she's so standoffish towards Elizabeth and Jane. If Bingley marries Jane and not Georgiana Darcy, they'll be that much closer to the Bennets, which means Mr. Darcy gets much closer to Elizabeth.
one of my favorite moments in the whole series happens in this ep when Lizzie starts talking about Darcy out of nowhere, again, and-- Charlotte: *looks into the camera like she's on The Office*
The chapter from The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet that has this dinner in it is amazing. Darcy "freakishly" staring at Lizzie, backing her in an argument. And of course, Catherine firing one question after the other. Really added the needed depth for the situation.
@@MKPiatkowski no, he's at this one. darcy backing lizzies arguement happens during the same dinner as catherine grilling lizzie on life skills and not taking collins job offer, that chapter has several quotes identical or near identical to the ones in this video that confirm it

Aw Ricky, how did you turn from being the character I hated the most in the books to the character I love the most in the web series? What adorkable spell are you putting on me??
So Anne is a dog... XD Guess the "Darcy should marry his cousin" angle doesn't work so well in a modern day setting. But nice tie-in there with lizzie's "they're perfect for each other" comment
This is a fantastic adaptation, I can't believe it's been going on for half a year already. I re-watched the first episode today - and it's a testament to the quality the team behind this that I am bursting with pride for Lizzie's growth. I love this story, thank you :)

Am I the only one who loves Mr. Collins here? I can't stop thinking he is so cute. I know he talks a LOT but he is always nice to everyone and so possitive. Love him.
YES! I just got my copy of The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet (late, I know, but in my country the book was unavailable for a very long time) and I'm rewatching the videos while reading the book, oooh the feels!
So Lizzie, did you crash a plane into an island and live off coconut and crabs with free wifi service provided by Darcy? Oh shizz, it must be hard for you to find out that even the island you crashed into is related to him too... ;-)
I love how magnificent these producers are. They add so much depth to this project. I was thinking about how Charlotte wanted to see the documentary of women who left home during the Great Depression as to NOT BE A FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THEIR FAMILIES! The exact reason Charlotte married Mr. Collins in the book and took the job here. KI love them so much.

I feel like Ashley channeled Jennifer Ehle in the line, "Thank you, Mr. Collins." Very well done. I really enjoyed that little exchange.

I was just thinking about that. Their characters would clash so bad, their both awkward just in different ways.
+Lna Anwar They had the predictably awkward encounter in The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet for this dinner. :)
The one in the original Pride and Prejudice is painfully awkward.

OOWWWNNN when lizzie actually put an effort to be nice to Ricky and he got all flustered - giggles - I just find him too adorable.
How's surviving off of coconuts and crabs going Lizzie?
Not a buzzkill if it's adorable that she doesn't see it. Because it's freaking ADORABLE.
Lizzie's Catherine De Bourgh impression is my favorite costume theater character in this series.
I vote that this video has the best opening!!!!!!!!
I think Catherine was seeing if she approved of Lizzie because Darcy likes her.
Lady Catherine nunca estuvo de acuerdo con la relacion de Lizzie con Darcy.
aunque en la pelicula del 40 si lo esta, eso resulta hasta comico y bonito
Why do I have a feeling Cathrine actually approves of Lizzie in this adaption -more so then in the 1940's film adaption (Lawrence Oliver was Darcy)
Oh it's coming!!!....just a few episodes and then we'll have the glimpse of THE DARCY!!!!!...😍😍

It's kind of weird saying that a dog is the perfect match for Darcy when in the book Anne was a sickly girl.
