Hello, I love you so much Dxlyn! Thank you for for making fifty special. Now to update your fans on my loc journey. I started my Loc journey back in the Lauren Hill days which is about 20 years ago. I decided during the 13/14 year mark to cut them because I wanted a change....so I thought. I went bald and blonde and everything in between. However, I always kept my hair chemical free except for coloring it . Then, I turned fifty and wanted to give myself a gift other than the party and a brand new car ect.... After five years of no locs I got the itch real bad (I was on crack for my locs). Prior to the itch I kept my locs in a safe and sacred place free of anything that would cause damage to them. They were wrapped in a silk scarf . I periodically would take them out and let them sit in the sun for about an hour or so and than back to the scarf away from the world. Once I made the decision to reattached I shop around for my loc specialist... I prayed and visited loc specialist just to get a feel for their energy......Then I met my hair dresser for life (Dxlyn) on UA-cam. I will fly anywhere and go anywhere just so she can do my hair. She is totally awesome! Locs are sacred and when treated as such it will grow abundantly. Dxlyn, fifty and beyond will not be the same with out....thank you for continuing the journey with me.
I know your journey..I am literally on an extremely similar lok journey miself.. I grew mi loks from the scalp 17 years ago and felt the need for change and cut them off after 14 years. I LOVED mi loks then, but I was in a place where the change was necessary for mi life growth at the time. I wrapped every single golden lok that was disconnected from mi head (all 69 of them) in a special scarf, then placed them in a sealed plastic wrap after I washed and dried them in the fresh air. For 2 n half years, I rocked the shaved head and LOVED that as well. But mi yearning for mi loks again almost sent mi into depression, no lie.. it's almost like mi heart hurt because mi crown was missing. So I too, did mi hunt on how to reattach mi own loks once I came across a lok specialist who told this was possible.. she patiently showed mi how to do it (I have not had any one else maintain mi loks but mi, EVER..to this day) and set mi off on mi new lok journey, Phase 2. It took mi three days in total, but I was able to reattach mi crown and maintain a healthier and happier energy because IT FEELS RIGHT FOR MI. :) funny thing is....most of mi family and friends seemed to have forgotten that I cut mi hair and was rockin a baldy for a period of time..but as mi sister says......."it was just a blip in time...you look like you again.." Blessed Love mi friends. :)
