There is an old quote “Wine is proof that God loves us” (forgot source, maybe St. Augustine?). I say Cats are proof that God loves us, instead. Whenever somebody says that don’t like cats, it’s usually because they have never had one in their life, or the ones they have were just not into humans. I’ve know cats that would run and hide the whole day, and others that will come right up to me. Such a broad spectrum of personalities and traits. Cats are great.
As a bearded man, I 100% confirm this. There's a stray cat that often comes down the roof demanding my beard-scratcher, and runs away immediately when someone else comes by
Maybe the beard is something to do with Roswell's memory of the texture of cuddling up to his mother before he was lost/abandoned. BTW, what happened to the second kitten?
im sorry but you were just used as a pawn by the cat distribution system to bring your husband and roswell together. Dont worry, they'll take care of you too ones you're ready.
We had one for 14 years that looked just like Roswell. We got him at 7 weeks old, 8 ounces. He was part Maine Coon & Ragdoll (the vet swore)...grew to almost 19 pounds, super confident & muscular big boy. Everyone who EVER met him, threatened to steal him. We watched over him pretty close. Several cats since him, but he will never be forgotten.
I just love that story I have a cat and I live in a senior building so she doesn’t go out except to the vet and she knows that so she doesn’t like to go out. I am 69 years old so it’s just her and I all day if I lay down to read, she will lay on my stomach. Otherwise she is sleeping in her bed or under my bed. I can’t imagine my life without her. so thank you for taking the kitten into your lives and I’m glad she makes you happy and God bless you
This story is similar to that of our you best cat, Pebbles, who attached herself to my husband when I first rescued her and brought her home. He had never had a pet of his own before. Even though we have had cats since we were married 40 years ago, they were always my cats that he tolerated or our daughters' cats. Pebbles is totally in love with him; sits on his lap for hours, follows him all over the house etc - even talks baby talk to her! It's heart warming to see - even though I still feed her, clean her litter pan, clip her nails, as he finally understands my love for cats.
