Phantom Brave is easily the best game i've ever played, it quite literately saved my life. I had bought it at Gamestop for about $5, and I put it aside because I was busy. The person that I loved died, and I was ready to join her, gun pointed to my head. Then I saw the game sitting in the corner, and I decided to play it as my last game on this Earth. It.. made me realise how special life is. Phantom Brave is the best game i've ever played and it holds a special meaning to me.
I hope that you still alive after 4 years, I started to collect 3 years ago. And I have managed to get quite a few. And my one in life is to finish as many games as I can. Before I die from old age. Or a disease! I have managed to amassed a great collection. Mostly RPG's and some Horror games. I hope that you are still playing. This is not my favorite RPG but I have it. Later!
Phantom Brave was actually made by the same people who made Disgaea. The rocks and trees turning into people is actually part of the battle system. Marona, the little girl, is the one who summons the phantoms (the other characters) and confines them to objects temporarily so they can fight alongside her.
The voice acting is fine. I don't understand how someone can honestly say they rather have voice acting they can't understand over voice acting they can. Maybe I'm weird, but when I watch an anime series, I rather be able to understand sub-par english voice acting rather than having to read sub-titles while listening to sub-par Japanese voice acting.
well he was stuck in that bottle for a while... just imagine being asleep for 2 years put him down to level 1 so just imagine what being trapped in a bottle must had done to his power.
@TurtleRaven Funny how there is a slight resemblance to her character Rita from Power Rangers, within Laharl's voice, kinda creeps me out AND brings back some nostalgia of the past.
Laharl is like in everything! He has two games all his own, shows up in the other two, has his own anime, and shows up in other random games. WTF? Although, it's funny because you never know when he's going to show up, and he's my fave so far, Adell's just to repetitive....
@laharl95 By that logic she would be opposite because holy/light magic hurts zombies and undead but she revives them. Ragna Bloodegde is dark aligned but he is good guy and can heal people too.
@BreakMyFate In Phantom Brave your party is made up of only phantoms (Aside from Marona) who can only fight after being confined to an object. So in other words, the rocks were possessed.
@laharl95 She isn't aligned with light or darkness. (necromancy isn't darkness magic anyways). Chromas are just people with special powers. Walnut is a chroma too.
@FuckOff3211 the game is called "phantom brave, it's by the same company, hence the laharl cameo, personally i like phantom brave more, it's much more "free build"
The redone Etna in Afternoon of darkness sounds markedly better than the "I could or could not be here" Etna from Hour of Darkness. Seems hit and miss.
@shinzombie and don't forget what's his name from Disgaea 2... and Mao from Disgaea 3.... and that powerless overlord who became a book from that world... who hasn't kicked his ass. but its ok, he's still awesome. AND THE STRONGEST OVERLORD IN THE UNIVERSE, HAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAA!
okay, obviously I can tell if someone has an issue when they use the word "damn" (or unless there excited they'll use it), and just because I have a problem trying to get a game such as this doesn't mean it has to result with you thinking that I have no clue where or how to get it
I wonder what happens after this, 'cuz I can't find a way to play any of disgaea games.....I'll try to make PS dat file into exe with dos, but would it work as a execute? dunno.....But it's nice to convert one type of files into another.
shes not but Myao (from Rhapsody, shes a mage that serves under Marjoly) and well... Baal is a playable character also (after you beat his level 4,000 Enringa form)
I'd like to try this out as I've played the PSP one for awhile now (Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness), its one of the best games on the PSP. From just first impressions of playing on the PSP to this, it looks like the PSP has more indepth fighting system and voice acting is a lot better. Music is all the same.
Laharl invades so many games, why not super smash bros
He invades only in NIS games.
Though that would be pretty sick to see, final smash would probably be him riding in on a meteor. Or overlords wrath.
JustSomeGamer
Probably meteor impact since it’s his most iconic attack although Overlord’s dimension would be an awesome final smash.
@@WinterFox1000 Yeah..
this may or may not age very very well

after 7 years, i hope you’re alright Dylan
I'm doing really well guys. :)
@@thedeadgatekeeper oh thank God
@@thedeadgatekeeper Glad to know you're doing well! :)
Even when Phantom Brave is one of the hardest NIS games, "You can still beat the game with minimum knowledge"
Phantom Brave was actually made by the same people who made Disgaea.
The rocks and trees turning into people is actually part of the battle system. Marona, the little girl, is the one who summons the phantoms (the other characters) and confines them to objects temporarily so they can fight alongside her.
lol * cough * * cough * Damn you, Etna!!!
LOLLL I love Laharl! XD
The real Zennon has a word of two about the "strongest overlord" thing and "Who kick who ass" topic.
I've always liked the dubs on NIS games...They're so insane. XD
So that really did happen.
just to let you know Laharl ended up in the bottle because of the end event in disgaea infinite funny ending by the way.
LOL so this is where the bottle ended up... Just finished Disgaea Infinite XD
What are you talking about doesn't everyone love Laharl's voice (especially his laugh)
So this is were laharl went after that incedent with etna and the supreme pudding and the time traveling prinny
well he was stuck in that bottle for a while... just imagine being asleep for 2 years put him down to level 1 so just imagine what being trapped in a bottle must had done to his power.
I haven't exactly palyed Phantom Brave but I know: HOW MANY MOVES CAN LAHARL MAKE ?! XD
That and the blazing knucke iirc
many good times with this game. id spend hours on it leveling up the merchant and getting all the cool weopons
but Marona and Ash kick his ass 3 times in this game
@TurtleRaven Funny how there is a slight resemblance to her character Rita from Power Rangers, within Laharl's voice, kinda creeps me out AND brings back some nostalgia of the past.
I see that kid more as a prince of the netherworld than a lord
Laharl is like in everything!

Although, it's funny because you never know when he's going to show up, and he's my fave so far, Adell's just to repetitive....
If you played Disgaea Infinite you find out the story behind this scene.
'Yes I have that one as well.......'
I think i have most if not all there games. I might be missing one or two of the lesser known ones.
you do get to see them, once you beat Laharl, go to his castle, beat Flonne and Etna and get their doubles.
@MrIvalice I think its 'Ode to Laharl' but I'm not too sure
yeah me too, but you have to consider the fact that he is such a badass that at the end of the day he is still the Supreme Overlord lol
Same company.
Also, Phantom Brave was released the next year after Disgaea
It's pretty cool how Disgaea Infinite explains this.
Excellent Video.
I got a Ash with Big bang and parting gift. I also have the prinnies! Sweet digs dood! Or I'm dead dood!
@laharl95 By that logic she would be opposite because holy/light magic hurts zombies and undead but she revives them.
Ragna Bloodegde is dark aligned but he is good guy and can heal people too.
In Disgaea 3 he's like, "lol im biggest and baddest" and then when you beat him, "he, lets stop fightan and team up!"
3 or 4 years ago I guess
To fellon2007:It's not hard! Maybe you just had a bad start?
To shinzombie:Good job!
''Prepare for unending servitude! Haaahahaha!''
XDD
It's not uncommon for a voice actor to improve from game to game,Barbra, Laharl's voice actor, did just that.
@BreakMyFate In Phantom Brave your party is made up of only phantoms (Aside from Marona) who can only fight after being confined to an object. So in other words, the rocks were possessed.
Ash, Ash, and more ASH!!!! What was this a popular name back in the 80s and 90s? Lol.
@TheMykcal why not get it on the psp?Extra characters,"Another Marona" mode and portability.
So many NIS games I never even knew about.
He does, though he only has a small speaking role, and you only hear his voice.
Laharl was 1313 in Disgaea 1...
Yeah I'm starting to notice this....thank God as I couldn't play these games with volume lol.
DO not forget LaPucelle Tactics, as well.
Invades multiple games (only NIS games) with his signature laugh.
I love this battle's BGM! Can anyone plese tell me what the track is called on the Phantom Brave soundtrack?
Duuuuuuuuuuude~ >o< You RULE! That was awesome! Don't you fight him a second time? If possible, could you post it?
@laharl95 She isn't aligned with light or darkness. (necromancy isn't darkness magic anyways). Chromas are just people with special powers. Walnut is a chroma too.
omg this is the third game i have seen laharl in (not counting the disgaea games of coarse)
BADDASS FREAKIN' OVERLORD!!!
@ShadowOfZabuza Yeah, without the english voice you can't get that feeling of childishness in Laharl. I agreee :)
rofl "i'll be back" XD sounds familier
@shinzombie which version are u playing the original of we meet again?
@FuckOff3211 the game is called "phantom brave, it's by the same company, hence the laharl cameo, personally i like phantom brave more, it's much more "free build"
When was Laharl in Phantomhen again,I am only on chapter 2 or 3........*Runs and on the PS2 and put the Phantom brave game*
Like he said, it must've been the bottle. lol
you should show the oart when you beat Larharl the third time and Marona and Ash pretend to be dead!
Yeah , Sprout, Walnut and Raphael phantoms.
Does anyone think that if Laharl was the main character again, he would kick everyone's ass? XD
@TheMykcal No prob.Hope you enjoy it if you get it.
Side story, he's a secret character, along with two girls
this makes me want to get them all now.
@darksword101 don't know, maybe i'm just used to play the japanese version. =)
The redone Etna in Afternoon of darkness sounds markedly better than the "I could or could not be here" Etna from Hour of Darkness.
Seems hit and miss.
@ShadowOfZabuza Oh well guys like you and me can appreciate talent in English dubs and Barbara Goodson is no slouch. I love her voice XD
@lMugenl Actually there's gonna be a psp remake
@zero341: No, it's for PS2 and Wii.
the voice actor for ash played the voice actor for fake zenon on Disgaea 2 never knew that O_O
hey, does anyone know how to do the level up trick? thanks
@shinzombie and don't forget what's his name from Disgaea 2... and Mao from Disgaea 3.... and that powerless overlord who became a book from that world... who hasn't kicked his ass. but its ok, he's still awesome. AND THE STRONGEST OVERLORD IN THE UNIVERSE, HAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAA!
lol marona makes a really ratarded face when she says "what!?"
LOL! I love that laugh!
okay, obviously I can tell if someone has an issue when they use the word "damn" (or unless there excited they'll use it), and just because I have a problem trying to get a game such as this doesn't mean it has to result with you thinking that I have no clue where or how to get it

One word..., actually a few: POOR LAHARL D:
Good game, i have it and is as addictive as Disgaea 1 and 2 ^^
@lMugenl psp version was conformed for release next year though
is me playing it at this very moment fast enough @.@
Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days ^.^
Welcome to the world of Atlus. They do it all the time.
The battle program is like Makai Kingdom
shes not but Myao (from Rhapsody, shes a mage that serves under Marjoly) and well... Baal is a playable character also (after you beat his level 4,000 Enringa form)
Ah, thanks
Might check it out some time, hopefully it can come out on the PSP some day =p
Ha ha ha, what a fun cameo.
@xxxraynezxxx Well Laharl's personality is kind of that of a brats....it fits.
so how far into the game is this? (i just got to chapter 2 of the Wii version) also Laharl is epic
wait wait wait, is that a Kind of Disgaea? I need to get it...
@RaiceaAndrei111 Good point, thanks.
yes, two time to be exact.
Marona kick his ass two more times anyway
Laharl ftw!!!
4:20 you see laharl, this is why you DONT try to invade other games.
what happens if you choose not to open
the bottle ?
never played this but it looks pretty good.
I didn't want Laharl to lose...!
@RaiceaAndrei111 Lol, no I dont. I have never played this game before, but I am interested in playing it on the Ps2...whenever I buy one again.
I just found out how laharl got in the bottle. If u play Disgaea Infinite (even though its not in english) u will understand.
I'd like to try this out as I've played the PSP one for awhile now (Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness), its one of the best games on the PSP. I really miss Phantom Brave, why did I sell it!?

@SoulxEaterxFan Actually, I solo'd with Laharl. Yes, Baal too. DAMNIT LAHARL, I LEVELED YOU BETTER!
He kind of sounds like Genius from ToS.
