The last scene between Mercedes and her Mama reminded me of True Blood when Tara and her Mama get into it after she was turned and on the pole.
I felt the same way with The True Blood vibes!!! Omg! If they give us some supernatural southern voodoo heka up in here, I'll be through! I agree tho it does have a lot of promise!

What happened with the money was Murder offered her $4000 and she lied to Autumn and said it was $1000 a piece. So then Uncle Clifford did the same to her but felt bad and gave her the rest of her money lol. Everyone was scheming lol
The owner gets a percentage so I think she got 2,000 and gave autumn 1,000 and uncle Clifford 1,000
Uncle Clifford is trying to keep these girls EMPLOYED. These girls will have to work for free for a week just to pay off the lien😐

Yes when Mercedes hit the floor I thought the pole was gonna come down! Then when she was dancing on the ceiling... I thought she was gonna slide back down and injury herself!

Casting did a great job pair Mercedes and her mother. They really do look like mother and daughter

The maker of this show and Mercedes both hail from Memphis, so a lot of the references and characterizations (and music) pulls from the Memphis/North Mississippi underbelly, such as the Al Green reference, hot plates and money as prizes on amateur nights, perpetrators, colorism, corrupt church folk, etc. Fun Memphis Fact: P-Valley comes from a nickname given to a rundown apartment complex/projects where a lot of loose women stayed. It's always been referenced Pussy Valley or PV for short, so much so that I can't even remember the real name of the complex.
As a Tn native, I damn near lost my mind when Playa Fly came on!😩🤣💕

Dont know if i was the only person who peeped this but Autumn Night's name on her ID she fished out of the water was Lakeisha Savage although later the tells the photog dude her name is Hailey. I think they are on the Texas/Louisianna border. Mercedes mama is a whole mess and I cannot with her. Uncle Clifford definitely gave me Big Freedia vibes! I am here for all of these characters. I have been waiting for this show and I am glad that it is written and directed by women.

that was the first thought but why would anyone suspect she's there? And next episode has him kekeing with some local white folks. I think he's getting dirt on Clifford to get the club shut down. We'll definitely find out next week tho.
I don't think he's a PI remember he sid he takes photos for insurance. And remember Uncle Clifford was wondering why there was such an influx of Mexican Men, one of them handed him a check to cash. That company is probably trying to buy that building. I bet that company is who he's taking photos for mmmhmm.

Bondy, Lil Murder told Mercedes he had 4 stacks for her and ol girl...Mercedes lied to ol girl n said it was only two cuz she was only going to give ol girl a stack and keep three for herself. He ended up giving the 4 stacks to Uncle tho probably cuz he murdered him lol and Uncle gave Mercedes and ol girl a g a piece out of it. He still had 2 gs left so thts wut he gave to Mercedes or at least part of it.

Coming from Texas, I would guess she's from Houston. She probably left about the time of that flood from two years ago when the entire city was underwater. You couldn't even see the expressway.
