By the time he would’ve figured it out, they would’ve been long gone anyway. But that’s just my theory.

I think Terica(Mercede's daughter) is a product of abuse not an affair. In the first episode Mercedes said she is 25 years old, Terica is a teenager 13/years old.. So that would mean Mercedes had her at 12/13 years old her self. Mercedes did say her mother use to pimp her out, so my guess is she must have got pregnant but was way too young to have custody of her own child
