Logan River /Jumpinpin - Bad Weather Battle

- Minh, my son and I fished the Jumpinpin system earlier in the day but were forced into the Logan River by the gnarly conditions. We persisted until we were chased off by looming dark clouds. Finished up with a good haul of flatties 🤟

Great work in lousy conditions Sonnie. Was that the walk the dog technique you were using, or were you mixing things up with some pause and retrieve?
And what plastics worked best for you?
I was mixing it up a bit. My sp of choice when times get tough generally is a 2.5in curl tail with size 1/0 1/4once jighead. Confidence colour is blood worm. In deeper waters I like to throw vibes as seen in this vid. My go to vibe is the MMD soft vibe :)

With the bad weather everything was wet. That towel was for him to sit on. I had more dry towels stowed away but by that stage we were all sogging wet anyways lol

Boat is going okay mate. Missing the bimini from old boat a bit hence we got absolutely drenched on this trip :)

I bought this wet weather gear from bcf recently and I tell you what it works a treat. I’ve been out in some conditions I normally wouldn’t and I’m dry and warm. I also don’t have a Bimini

Planning my fishing adventure now. I think I head off Clontarf area Friday morning early and try and find some fish. Probably got half a day for a crack.

Yeah when we use it a lot I leave them behind the seat same as on my old boat. When we don't use it I chuck it in that hatch. The big landing net is the real hassle. I normally leave that sitting on the back deck with a lanyard attached 🤷♂️
