For everyone that watches this video, the reason on why the third round burst malfunction is because of thick silicon oil being used on the trigger component, DON'T use thick silicon for your trigger group when cleaning, instead, use dilute silicon oil to maintain it!
Sry for the late reply, but yeah I do have one, and well, I have no idea if the rs adapter fits on the ghk ones, but there’s replica adaptor that looks similar to the rs one
This is good advice. I recently had to install the burst component myself due to GHK no longer manufacturing it pre-installed and it seems that the burst mechanism is based on a little tab on the trigger and the tab engaging the burst unit that are 3 little teeth. If these teeth don't click smoothly after every shot, it will either be stuck in an unknown number of burst shots per trigger pull or even it going full auto.
I, Lord and Master of the world, hereby acknowledge Toblerone as an official coffee dunking food. The last post in my community section confirms this. Spread the word and bring joy to my people.
Great little rifle, and review. I'm surprised every review of this gbbr has a complaint on the trigger but fails to mention the adjustable plunger behind the trigger that lets you set your own wall before the break. Not saying the trigger is amazing still but it's a neat feature faithful to the RS.
Great review as always! Your videos never fail to disappoint! I recently got my hands on GHK's AUG as my first GBBR after playing with AEG's for a long time. I had to change up my play style to accommodate for less ammo, but I am not regretting my transition to GBBR's! When I handled and shot my friend's Krytac Trident MK 2, it felt like a toy compared to my AUG! I thank you, sir, for opening my eyes to a world I never knew existed. Cheers, and I look forward to your next video! ✌
Haha. I know what you mean. They are in such awe when looking at their beloved AEG, and all I can think of is....”Jeez that thing is awful....try to remain positive...they love it to death, do not ruin it for them!” Or perhaps I’m just an evil POS on the inside, haha. You’re very welcome. I’m glad you’ve finally got yourself an AUG! Thanks for watching my stuff, it’s nice to see a returning viewer. 👍
Very true! I thought I caught a glimpse of jealousy in my friend's eye when we shot each other's guns at the field. On a side note, and I know it might be too early, but I would like to know what kind of video you're doing next?
Got one from the first batch from Samoon as well, and I agree with your review. I really admire GHK's willingness to produce GBBRs that noone else have, next up; RK95 TP and the Galil-family (please GHK).
I have a feeling it’ll be something different like the RK95. Or something like the Fn FNC/AK5. Although I’m willing to bet that they will release their updated and improved version 2 (or would it be V3) AK series. Seeing the design of the 553 bolt with nozzle return spring and nozzle guides, I think their AK platform will be next.
So I picked one of these up a year ago today, and absolute LOVE it! As Badabing says, the build quality is superb, efficiency is good and I find accuracy very good too. Internally it is solid, I am still running the standard hop unit (probably 2k rounds through it) It happily throws .3’s out to about 60m with accuracy to hit a man sized target I have fitted the npas nozzle to it, which allows me to dial it down for cqb use, then dial it up and flick the tab over and lock it to semi. I spent a fortune on a ghk m4 and upgrades, and haven’t touched it since I got the 553 R/S stock adapter will fit with minimal fuss, and with a little bit of work, R/S AK pistol grips will fit - which is my next upgrade. A beautiful replica, which isn’t cheap, but is a connoisseurs choice. @badabing Classy review, I think I’ve watched this about 20 times 👌
Great to hear your feedback. I sold mine several years ago. I wish I hadn’t. There’s something about the Sig 550 series. A lot more class than AR’s, I think you would agree. Thanks for watching the video! So you’re the reason why the views are going up, hah. Cheers! 👍☕️
@@BadaBingPictures Yeah, I thought my M4 was the best thing ever until I picked the 553 up. Ok, the M4 does have much more recoil, but as you say the 553 is just classier. I get more range from the M4 than the Sig, but have done much more to it to increase its “uesability” The standard m4 hop unit was simply atrocious, and had just no consistency, I popped in a T.N.T and it’s happy now. But happily I don’t feel the need to change the hop on the 553, good that it takes aeg bucking though as the Maple Leaf upgrade doesn’t get great reviews. It’s a shame that there aren’t really many aftermarket parts for the 553, but when you do change a few things to make it your own, you know that hardly anybody is going to copy what you have done due to the time it takes to source RS parts to make it a bit different. I’m looking forward to more longer / in-depth reviews 👍 ☕️
For the trigger you can adjust the plunger behind it to change where the "wall" is. Since yours is set to contact the trigger after the break you feel no wall/resistance.
If only gas guns could run off coffee and toblerone, they'd be better than real guns. Amazing review! Your channel is officially the one stop shop for all things GBBR, Keep it up!
Just fielded mine today, actually left the field to grab it from the house. I’m impressed by only the working bits. The 2023 GHK has serious QC issues, and my Burst doesn’t even function. Gun is cool, but lacks a lot of effort for the price tag.
@@BadaBingPictures So come to find out Samoon doesn’t even install the burst pack into the new Sigs. You have to buy it seperate and install it yourself. 🤦🏻♂️
Seriously? That’s the avenue I thought about going down in order to get a 553 again. A burst one from Samoon. To find that they don’t even install it for you is aggravating!
Love your videos so very much. I always click your videos as soon as I see them. I personally own a GHK AK74su, love it, and have been awaiting the release of the 553 with great anticipation.
Little bit late, but my sig developed a 4rd burst almost immediately, ghk and samoon sent me a replacement part with no issues. Issue is now resolved. I love this wee rifle
@@BadaBingPictures my educated guess is its a first batch tolerance issue. As there was no visible wear on the parts in question, i shall get the number this evening
Great review as always! I wish I had found your channel sooner lol I'm hyped for this rifle to gain more popularity and for those quad rail kits to come out. Those will be freaking amazing!
Hey Badabing, I love your videos. I’m a huge fan of gbbrs and the whole aesthetic of your channel. Plus you make excellent reviews. I was wondering if there were any tips after 3 years of owning this gun, you could give me?
Hi, Thanks for the support, it's great to hear people are enjoying my material. Sadly, I sold the 553. I couldn't fund other projects and upcoming reviews, so it had to go. However there are many users on the GBBR Heavy Recoil Club on Discord, so you can see all feedback and information on the 553 and anything else GBB. discord.com/invite/Heavyrecoilclub?fbclid=IwAR1kC56cFWfq3uqFma8mVfnBOveMPrx5IUvRbpMuG9OG33bn62NB-ZsxwbM I would love to buy another GHK 553 or even the 551 when I have some disposable fund.
Great Video from another nvg geek as i i'm on the way to become. Just bought this rif today! I'll BE able to pleasure it when im Back Home at the 28th Dec! Cant wait for it! By the way! Great Humor and creativity for This Video! Greetings from Bavaria ✌🏼🤠
Was wondering how long it'd be until you uploaded this very video, ha ha! I'm not big for Sig rifles, but it looks like a nifty little piece. I'm hoping that they'll eventually release a GBB SVD to complement their AK series and improve upon WE's version. Nice review, take care!
Sign me up for one if they lower the price & fix its problems. It needs a more realist half bolt like you said. A deal breaker for me to be honest. I'll look out for future reviews if they fix it.
Hey BadaBing! So guess what, I bought a GHK AUG. And I was as much disappointed by it as I was excited to get it when I first saw it on the anareus website. The first thing I noticed was the dirty scope lens. On the inside. And then I visited my grandma, because she has a nice backyard only to realize I can't even use the gun out-of-the-box. It's those damn feeding lips. I could barely load BBs in the 1st mag and I broke the speedloader with the 2nd. I couldn't even try the rest of them. I know these must seem like minor issues to you but if you consider that this is the most expensive airsoft gun I've ever bought and I can't even use it as is, I think you can understand my disappointment. In fact I've already removed the GHK AK from my wishlist, let's see what TM will release instead. I wonder if LCT made the scope for the AUG, because I was disappointed by their G3 AEG too. Oh, and also the AUG trigger leaves a lot to be desired, but it's a bullpup so I didn't have very high expectations, I can forgive that. Anyway, back to the feeding lips, I remembered what you said in this video. How should I go about it? Should I get a file from the hardware store which has a 6-ish mm diameter? Because I fear my dremel could easily run away. And how much filing is too much?
Wow. Sorry to hear that. I always admired the AUG and its awful that GHK are continuing to put out such trash. I would have words with the shop you bought it from and hopefully the store can report the feedback through their suppliers. Also, if you could upload images of your optic to various GHK facebook groups and get visual perspective for people to see. I'd be interested to see photos. I can't speak to what they're like now as it has been a few years since I purchased a GHK (553). This is something they have to address, and if it's being reported on social media enough they'll surely see reduction in sales. In regards to the feedlips, yes they need a fraction of a millimetre taken off both sides of the inner feedlips. Take it a tiny bit at a time with some small thin hand files. You want to have a little bit of resistance but load the bbs into the reservoir smoother than they do now. If you take off too much plastic the bbs will spring back out so take it slow.
@@BadaBingPictures Thank you. I'll try to go carefully with the hand files. I was talking to this guy under KhanSeb's video, he said he bought a GHK AK recently and he was told not to file the feedlips and he received a metal speed loader. So now he is trying to wear the feedlips down at home. But considering how tough those feedlips look I think he will be doing it for quite a while. I've tried to take a picture of the scope but the camera just doesn't see it. It's not so much dirt, it looks more like an imperfectly done coating which results in a grainy picture. It's kind of like looking through a fine mosquito net, not very bad especially if you focus on the gameplay rather than how good the scope image is but I'll be running the scope without any protection and let the airsoft gods decide if I need to get a new one.
I've never needed to file my AK feedlips either. Removing a couple of flakes from the insides isn't going to hurt them though and if anything will relieve stress that causes fractures/hairline cracks. After all these years you'd think they would have perfected their feedlips.
@@BadaBingPictures I should've also metioned that I got the CO2 mags. And, because samoon stopped shipping to my country when the pandemic started, I bought them from anareus. AFAIK CO2 mags are not that popular so it's possible they are from an older batch and that's why I have the feedlip problem. I wanted to ask you if you have experience dealing with CO2 mags. I don't remember you talking about them too much in your videos. Originally I though I'd use the gun in a DMR style. But then I tried to chrono the gun. I couldn't take a reading with the leftover TM 0.2s I had on me (the chrono kept saying TOUT), but I could with some 0.3s. From aprox. a half full CO2 cartridge to empty the power dropped from 1.1J to 0.9J so I'm concerned the gun will not be DMR accurate with these CO2 mags. I can keep green gas mags on a fairly flat power level but I can't top off a CO2 cartridge. And it would also be a shame to waste all that full auto potential. In aprox 7℃ (45℉) the gun took my 11 round bursts like a champ. (That's all I could load manually after the speedloader broke.) On the other hand the mags are heavyAF, I don't think I'll be able to carry too many of them, so I'm not sure how I should use the gun. Any thoughts?
I am actually waiting for a FA-MAS GBBR an F2000 would be great too however if you know how a real AN94 and G11 works it would be a nightmare to adapt those systems to be realistic and efficient in airsoft !
Well I’ve just bought one of these and I am smitten… I got one with the “Tactical” hand guard and (although it’s quite heavy for it’s size) I could not be happier! Thanks dude for all the info, you just made GHK £960 :)
@@leosaur_4012 GHK’s are horrendously overpriced but the 553’s seem to be solid. I haven’t heard any major issues. The only niggles I had you can see in this video, not too bad at all. I’d love to get another one but don’t have the funds. Enjoy!
@@fluffls While I’d like to splash out on another Sig rifle, I just don’t have the funds to do it. These things are expensive. As I’ve already reviewed the 553, I don’t think it’ll be a wise investment considering the 551 is only a bit longer and may or may not have an improved trigger. Unless if you were to donate funds to the cause…then of course I could look into it. 😉
Hey Badabing, so guess what, I bought one of these too. Just 2 months after the MTR-16. Goddamnit, I spend all my money on GBBRs. For what it's worth this thing feels like I could run it all day and it wouldn't break a sweat. Current batches come with the black mag, which is supposed to be stronger plastic and no 3rd burst (the position is there but it's full auto). I knew about it in advance but I didn't care. Funny how the reason I bought the WE MP5 back in 2019 was the mechanical 3rd burst and now I don't care. I can do bursts of as many rounds as I want on full auto. The mags are still too tight and I already bought Pablo's feedlips.
Hi mate, Congratulations on your new GBB! I would love one of these 553’s again. Too bad I sold the one in this video. No burst isn’t really an issue. I’d still would’ve liked them to fix its problems and reinstate that mode. But never mind. It’s still a bloody great shooter.
@@BadaBingPictures Thank you, I used to love the "Krieg 552" in CS:S so what can I do... You were right about the trigger though, not very nice and I like a nice trigger. I've watched some real steel SIG videos and they talk about the plunger below the trigger to customize it to your preference, it's present on the GHK replica too, but doesn't do much, it's just too weak. But the good news is I'm pretty sure I'll get used to the trigger in no time. Can I get any insider info on you next video? 😉
@sogerc1 it didn’t seem to alter the feedback…that plunger. It’s one of those things where you’ll just have to live with it. I have a review of the Federal Concepts FEDA/NPAS for the TM M4 GBB System coming up. Plus some very cool retrospective reviews of certain “dated” items. I’m looking forward to those!
Hello Badabing. Based on some of what you've experienced in this video, would you say the talk of the GHK 553 having Poor fitting, with slightly misaligned receiver pin holes of upper and lower receivers making some guns difficult to disassemble or reassemble, some barrel trunnions being improperly drilled, adding to the poor fitting of parts on some guns, is true? This gun gun seems to be the most solidly built airlift rifle I've ever seen, but I want to make sure the quality is top notch from a reliable source, before I purchase.
Hi, The fit between the receivers is extremely solid. As a result the pins on my 553 required tapping out in order to strip the rifle down. They began to loosen up with time, but the good thing was it remained rigid. It was a minor inconvenience having to depress the button on the takedown pin while tapping it out from the other side. Awkward but not impossible. That’s about as bad as mine got.
@@BadaBingPictures Wow! Sounds great! From what I've seen, the build quality is amazing, steel through and through, inside and out, except for the obvious plastic parts, Impressive! Wish I could say the same for the VFC G3. I'll be picking up an engraved version ASAP! Thanks man!
I am having a problem with my bolt, It just gets stuck whenever I rack it to the rear, and the bolt catch is loose (not releasing the bolt). It is very difficult to tell what it's getting stuck on. Feels like alot of friction, but I cant find any friction wear. After just examining this time. does it boith with and without the magazine. I got the gun right before the pandemic.
I got one - my rear flip-up sight is all hanging off to one side - the small tube that pushes through one side of the upper rail, the rear flip-up sight, and through the other side of the rail isn't pushed in properly so... now the spring that holds up the flip-up sight and the plate covering it have popped out. A bit shoddy for a £550 gun. Also, the screw/bolt that tightens the really annoying swiveling finger-guard was very loose, and was sticking mostly out on arrival - have tightened it by hand to stop the finger guard swinging around, not great though.
Sounds as if someone was eager to get home that day at the factory. It’s not unknown for Airsoft guns to be poorly assembled, but you’re right..shoddy efforts don’t give you much reassurance when you first your new beast out of the box. My rear sight was a smidge off, but not too noticeable.
I hope they make a FAL too. I would like to see the Para version as well. Also...you’re very kind for mentioning me to Airsoftology. Thanks buddy, I really appreciate it.
Great video, your reviews are very helpful. I’ve only been skirmishing for 3 months (totally hooked now!) and now awaiting my Ukara number. Your videos have helped me decide to go for gbb rifles. I really want to go for the TM M4A1, but stock in the UK seems limited. I’m also very tempted with this Sig or the G5. Have you used the G5? It seems a very good price. Anyway, thanks again from a newcomer :)
BadaBingPictures Thanks very much 👍 I think I will go with one of those as my first gbb rifle, gives me a bit of spare cash for accessories and upgrades in the future.
Absolutely. It’s a good cheap base to learn the craft. And it’s mags will allow you to move over to the M4 if you find yourself lusting for one at a later date.
BadaBingPictures Really looking forward to getting my first one, I have gbb pistols and I love them when skirmishing. Like yourself, I also love the MP5’s, so a WE gbb is on the cards too. Along with the M4! Thanks again 👍
Its amazing but keeps splitting bbs… is this due to a steel bolt being slower? Or just imperfect chamber ramp and chamber chamfer geometry? If there is a fix id like to know.
They don't have any available right now, as far as I am aware. But they've made them for every other GBBR of theirs, so I would say it is likely. I think the 553 would really benefit from CO2 power. Thanks for tuning in.
Mr. Bing I hope your fully beaned up and doing well, don't get any silicone oil on that silestone worktop you'll never get it out, especially on the black. And sack your fitter too it looks like he did the seal on the upstand with his elbow lol.
Heya Badabing ~ I've been watching your reviews of gbbr and just got on the late train on the GHK 553. I got the tactical version, was wondering if you have some issues with the bolt release once the mag is empty? seems to be quite stiff and tend to be a little stuck and sometimes need a little push. Do you have similar experience btw? Thanks ...always interesting to watch your review.
Hi mate, Thanks for watching my stuff. Yes the bolt release is quite stiff to engage, that’s how it is. It needs a good bashing! Their M4 is the same, don’t worry.
@@BadaBingPictures what about the carrier bolt most times get stucked on empty mags and putting in a new one after pressing the bolt release? mine doesn't really slide back in most cases
This rifle needs more love, how is there Still very little coverage on it!? With a rate of fire of 1300+ RPMs, they could sacrifice some cycle speed for full travel, especially since the real thing only does 700 RPM. I don’t think gas efficiency would suffer much.
I agree. I miss this GBBR and the RPK the most. I keep watching my B-roll footage of the 553 and seeing how light and handy it was, makes me want one again. I guess it’ll be tough to increase the travel as the carrier is longer to accommodate the nozzle. Maybe someone can create an alternative carrier that could house an SMG nozzle, like the VFC V2 MP5 nozzle.
Thanks for the speedy reply. I appreciate you hpa but i will say if you ever get a chance to put a few rounds through one (even if its using the co2 mags for it) definitely give it ago as it's a hoot to shoot the recoil is completely different to a gbbrs.
For gun’s sight, do you use original one or replica? With recoil shock like this, does replica sight really work? Some suggested to use real sight instead of replica one but it’s expensive
I use genuine optics. They’re expensive but they are a wise investment because you know they’ll work. You can’t place much trust in a replica sight as they’re generally made to look good and not to perform. Look at budget firearm sights like Holosun or Vortex. They are cheaper and will withstand recoil.
Hi bada, have you try the maple leaf hopup yet? also, how to take apart the outer barrel from the main receiver? i already taken out the recoil rod and loosen the barrel not, barrel not coming out still, did i miss something?
Hi, No I never ended up trying the Maple Leaf, nor did I ever try to remove the outer barrel. I’ve sold this 553 now so I cannot investigate further, sorry man.
I don’t believe they do. I’ve only seen the grey furniture. You may be able to use the genuine Sig parts, depending if you can obtain them where you are.
I'm really planning on getting it despite its current flaws on magazine clamping, and accuracy (from user feedback). Have you run into any accuracy issues where shots are inconsistent with significant amount of fliers? And when do you think the production will be fixed since GHK has not responded to different issues on social media. We may have to wait for a Gen 2 which wouldn't not come for another 2-3 years =\
I’ve had no issues with accuracy at all. On the contrary, it’s performed better than expected. I had some fliers hitting high but nothing that I would class as an issue. I’d wait for feedback from users that are buying them now and see what they make of it. Knowing GHK they won’t just leave a rifle unfinished and wait for users to resolve issues on their own. They are probably hard at solutions already. I’m mostly concerned about the 3rd burst and magazine problem.
Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it! =D But that's good to know accuracy isn't an issue, though at the same time I feel like small issues that users can fix themselves wouldn't be remedied anytime soon. Examples would be AUG's tendencies for the internals of the magazine to slip from it's shell when inserted too hard. That or G5's cracking body and fragile charging handle. But with that said, I am not having hopes that a fix will come in 2018, since the product has just released, they probably won't redesign so soon. Let's hope the problems stop there. Will be following close to see if you run into anything else.
Hi Badabing - thx for reviewing! How it works now, 2 months after review? Any new issues? As for this: " I’m mostly concerned about the 3rd burst and magazine problem." From other comments here it sounds like GHK fixes 3rd burst problem wiht replacement part, so that should be "solved"? How about mag issue? Is it getting worse/causing any problems for you? Any news about fix from GHK?
@@APair0 Hey there! I got my GHK 553 for a bit over a month now, gaming it 3 times (including CQB and Outdoors). I notice that it's accurate stock (though I'm sure it can perform better with either a new hop bucking or an inner barrel), and in outdoors can shoot to targets almost 50-60m away with green gas and .3g BBs. So far, it seems I didn't run into the 4-round burst problem, so I'm pegging it as a manufacturer defect that Mr. Bing unfortunately ran into, and if you do run into that, it seems GHK will give a specific fix though they haven't mentioned what part they will give/change for you. All GHK officially said was to not use GHK oil on the trigger group despite what the manual says. Magazine wise, everything has been going smooth, though I suppose I've been a bit gentle with the mags. I do see a noticeable line on the magazines, but I haven't had feeding issues at the moment. I do reckon that if it does affect feeding, a quick file is actually an easy fix.
Thx poragon for feedback poragon :-). Good to hear about 3-round burst problem, but hmmmm, I think I'll wait now, those mags are worrying me... would be stupid to shell out lots of cash and be left with non-working system after some time because mags broke...
Hey There, considering getting a GHK G5. you mentioned the website Samoon in the video and description. is this site trustworthy and reliable for ordering from the UK?
Hi, I’ve used Samoon several times and they’ve always been spot on. I usually get my orders in a week or just over. As long as you request your ukara/defence number to be displayed on the shipping label you should be fine.
i gave a sub.your reviews are so well done.maybe i will return to airsoft with a gbbr.hmm this(really big fan of hk&sig real steel)or tm mws(big fan of tm products since 99)
The ones in grey feature the cerakote finish. Others in black are not. I think they still produce the Sig grey cerakote versions, so it’s an ongoing productions as far as I’m aware.
Yo! There's the 1J nozzle. That should take your speed down. You could modify the nozzle by drilling and tapping a thread, so this will allow you to use a grub screw to manually adjust. You can also install a pistol length inner barrel and this should cut some speed off naturally without choking up the gas system with a lower gas flow nozzle.
Cool review as allways bing 😄👍. I want a new gbbr and I am doubting weather to buy a tm m4 mws or one of these ghk sig556 carbines. Which is the better choice in your opinion ?. Edit I meant the 553 offcourse pardon my french 😅
Hey Inferno, welcome back! Better choice in terms of being a good all round GBBR has to be the TM M4 GBBR. It’s one of the best GBBR’s that’s in production right now and I doubt that fact will change by the time we reach 2030. Only problem is it’s another boring M4, the 553 might just be the variety you’ve been looking for. The feel of the 553 is lovely. It’s all nice a solid, shoots very well, only it’s not that well looked after in regards to upgrades and one or two problems that I noted in the video still persists to this day. You’d be taking more of a gamble with the GHK, whereas you can place your confidence on the TM without hesitation.
@@BadaBingPictures Thank you very mu h for your reply bing. Yes at this price range it is pretty much reliability that I am looking for, I have a ghk AKM and I absolutely love the rifle and the brand it is solid. But I think for now I will buy the TM rifle, it is cheaper and the magazines are cheaper too and easier to convert to hpa. Thanks for your help bing, I shall follow ypur advise and wait for a version 2 of the 553 😁
Excellent, I’d love to get some hands-on experience with the real thing. I don’t know why either, but I’m glad you’ve tuned in to my little video. Thanks for watching.
BadaBingPictures If u want to make some very good money, with your knowledge of firearms if u import parts kits into the US, which u can do with the right license, u can make thousands importing parts kits like hk416’s and swiss 55x series parts kits. An upper for an hk416 sells for over 5,000$ here in the US, the only part that cannot be shipped to the us is the serialized reciever, which is considered the firearm here. 417 uppers go for over 10 thousand. So if you find firearms across europe and u legally destroy the reciever by cutting the reciever into three pieces, then legally import the parts kit, u could make some very good money. Im originally from italy, cheers
That sounds like a good earner. I could probably guarantee that such items in the UK are prohibited. The only thing that I could obtain without much issue would be magazines, but there would'nt be much money in that. I'll just have to stick with these toy guns instead...*sigh*
Dave Smith Are you serious? Is that OK for you to buy a pair of Nike sport shoes without the correct “Nike” branding label on them even though it’s a fake one from china.
Yes, because then I can get a Nike quality shoe lower than Nike pricing. The only thing that should matter to a consumer is quality/function. Fools and girls care about branding. If you can point out a fake Chinese SIG 550 series GBBR clone I'll buy it. Also you do realize a branded product is more likely to be faked by China than an unbranded gun, right? The thing with airsoft GBB guns is that even the top tier lines like GHK still have issues. The cheaper you can get a gun, the more budget room you have to fix and upgrade it to how it should be. The only reason people don't choose cheaper GBB guns is because they tend to be discontinued or the magazines significantly cost more than magazines of more expensive guns. WE broke from that mold by maintaining factory support for all their guns which is why WE is a big name in the GBB market, and this allows them to price their stuff much lower than the competition. No branding on WE. MP5 is Apache. P90 is TA2015, S&W M&P is Big and Little Bird, etc.
Sent this to my friendo, he wants to get into GBBR's after seeing my WE MSK, and he wants something other than an M4... he asked if there was a 553 and lo and behiold!
I’d love to but I can’t afford it. Plus the Type 89 isn’t too popular outside of Japan so it would take forever to find a buyer after I would make the review. It’s a lot of money to be tied up for a long period of time that could otherwise go on other projects. Unless someone were to donate the funds, then of course! I buy it tomorrow in that case.
Finally a real up close review where the reviewer is showing the gun and its features and not just talking while holding it for 20 minutes
Glad you like it, thanks for watching.
For everyone that watches this video, the reason on why the third round burst malfunction is because of thick silicon oil being used on the trigger component, DON'T use thick silicon for your trigger group when cleaning, instead, use dilute silicon oil to maintain it!
you have one? its compatible with RS? for example with Sig Sauer 556/552 1913 PSB Buffer Tube Adaptive Kit?
Sry for the late reply, but yeah I do have one, and well, I have no idea if the rs adapter fits on the ghk ones, but there’s replica adaptor that looks similar to the rs one
This is good advice. I recently had to install the burst component myself due to GHK no longer manufacturing it pre-installed and it seems that the burst mechanism is based on a little tab on the trigger and the tab engaging the burst unit that are 3 little teeth. If these teeth don't click smoothly after every shot, it will either be stuck in an unknown number of burst shots per trigger pull or even it going full auto.
The GHK Sig G553 is a breath of fresh air in airsoft GBBs as much as another quality BadaBing video!
Agreed, I wish that GHK continue releasing more variant
tanayayt *crosses fingers* come on famas.....
The 553 tactical was just now restocked at evike! Although this is an old review, I want to thank you for doing a great job as usual!
You’re welcome, and thank you for showing up to this old video of mine.
I ended up selling this one in 2018…and I really want another one.

YOUR CRIMES AGAINST APPROPRIATE DUNKING FOODS HAVE NOT GONE UNNOTICED.
I, Lord and Master of the world, hereby acknowledge Toblerone as an official coffee dunking food.
The last post in my community section confirms this.
Spread the word and bring joy to my people.
I don't even play airsoft anymore as I'm into firearms now, but I still just love to sit back and watch your videos. Always quality entertainment.
Sorry, I meant to say in the second sentence that "Your videos NEVER dissapoint!" I typed it wrong. Sorry
I understood what you meant.
After weeping uncontrollably for a few hours. Lol
Very true! I thought I caught a glimpse of jealousy in my friend's eye when we shot each other's guns at the field.
On a side note, and I know it might be too early, but I would like to know what kind of video you're doing next?
IMO A good GBBR can defeat every AEG, and yes even that umbrella armory trident MK II
Just buy a GHK
Got one from the first batch from Samoon as well, and I agree with your review. I really admire GHK's willingness to produce GBBRs that noone else have, next up; RK95 TP and the Galil-family (please GHK).
I have a feeling it’ll be something different like the RK95. Or something like the Fn FNC/AK5.
Although I’m willing to bet that they will release their updated and improved version 2 (or would it be V3) AK series.
Seeing the design of the 553 bolt with nozzle return spring and nozzle guides, I think their AK platform will be next.
WE does the same tbh, they take big chances and make some really cool platforms.
Once again, thanks for the share Bing, and your usual informative and honest review.
Now, i'm off to the shop to get some Toblerone......
You’re welcome.
You enjoy that Toblerone!
I purchased one as well and put my aimpoint M5 & surefire m600p on it. I tried it in indoor game and it shot accurately!
So I picked one of these up a year ago today, and absolute LOVE it!
As Badabing says, the build quality is superb, efficiency is good and I find accuracy very good too.
Internally it is solid, I am still running the standard hop unit (probably 2k rounds through it)
It happily throws .3’s out to about 60m with accuracy to hit a man sized target
I have fitted the npas nozzle to it, which allows me to dial it down for cqb use, then dial it up and flick the tab over and lock it to semi.
I spent a fortune on a ghk m4 and upgrades, and haven’t touched it since I got the 553
R/S stock adapter will fit with minimal fuss, and with a little bit of work, R/S AK pistol grips will fit - which is my next upgrade.
A beautiful replica, which isn’t cheap, but is a connoisseurs choice.
@badabing
Classy review, I think I’ve watched this about 20 times 👌
Great to hear your feedback.
I sold mine several years ago. I wish I hadn’t.
There’s something about the Sig 550 series. A lot more class than AR’s, I think you would agree.
Thanks for watching the video! So you’re the reason why the views are going up, hah. Cheers! 👍☕️
@@BadaBingPictures
Yeah, I thought my M4 was the best thing ever until I picked the 553 up.
Ok, the M4 does have much more recoil, but as you say the 553 is just classier.
I get more range from the M4 than the Sig, but have done much more to it to increase its “uesability”
The standard m4 hop unit was simply atrocious, and had just no consistency, I popped in a T.N.T and it’s happy now.
I’m looking forward to more longer / in-depth reviews 👍
☕️
Love your videos mate, the editing style is all class.
Your reviews are always so satisfying to watch!
Thanks, bro.
Glad to see folks digging my style. 😎
For the trigger you can adjust the plunger behind it to change where the "wall" is. Since yours is set to contact the trigger after the break you feel no wall/resistance.
You litterally are the reason why i got back my passion for airsoft.Wish you the best for your career
I’m glad I can be an inspiration to the community. Thank you! And thanks for watching my content, I appreciate the support.
If only gas guns could run off coffee and toblerone, they'd be better than real guns.
Amazing review! Your channel is officially the one stop shop for all things GBBR, Keep it up!
I finally got my 553, and wow, what an amazing piece!
Just fielded mine today, actually left the field to grab it from the house.
I’m impressed by only the working bits. The 2023 GHK has serious QC issues, and my Burst doesn’t even function. Gun is cool, but lacks a lot of effort for the price tag.
Sorry to hear this. That basically eliminates my idea of reacquiring one.
Shame the product isn’t on par with the price tag.
Listen I’m your biggest fan I’ve been waiting for this video to come out keep up the great work
As always your reviews are fantastic thank you very much for this one I've been waiting for it every day since it came out
That looks awesome.
I will also buy the same gun later, and I am very excited.
Thank you for a good review before buying.
Little bit late, but my sig developed a 4rd burst almost immediately, ghk and samoon sent me a replacement part with no issues. Issue is now resolved. I love this wee rifle
Excellent news, thanks for letting me know this. So it’s a part which was easily worn down? Do you happened to know it’s Part No.?
@@BadaBingPictures my educated guess is its a first batch tolerance issue. As there was no visible wear on the parts in question, i shall get the number this evening
the part is 553-31,
Wonderful. Thank you.
I’ll send a message to Samoon and have one sent over. 👍
Great review as always! I wish I had found your channel sooner lol I'm hyped for this rifle to gain more popularity and for those quad rail kits to come out. Those will be freaking amazing!
we have been waiting haha! awesome stuff man!
Thx mate! i was waiting for this 553. A very useful and convenient coffee break airsoft review (as always).
The translucent mags are actually really awesome as it lets you exactly how much ammo you have left in the mag... Great vid! c:
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Badabing, I love your videos. I’m a huge fan of gbbrs and the whole aesthetic of your channel. Plus you make excellent reviews. I was wondering if there were any tips after 3 years of owning this gun, you could give me?
Hi,
Thanks for the support, it's great to hear people are enjoying my material.
Sadly, I sold the 553. I couldn't fund other projects and upcoming reviews, so it had to go.
However there are many users on the GBBR Heavy Recoil Club on Discord, so you can see all feedback and information on the 553 and anything else GBB.

I would love to buy another GHK 553 or even the 551 when I have some disposable fund.
@@BadaBingPictures wow thanks for the fast response! Sad to hear you’ve sold it but thanks for the invite. Good wishes.

By the way! Great Humor and creativity for This Video! Greetings from Bavaria ✌🏼🤠
I will wait I really wanted this but your opinion I trust thanks for great review as all ways bud 👍🏼
the music is perfect for this beauty
Was wondering how long it'd be until you uploaded this very video, ha ha! I'm not big for Sig rifles, but it looks like a nifty little piece. I'm hoping that they'll eventually release a GBB SVD to complement their AK series and improve upon WE's version. Nice review, take care!
Sign me up for one if they lower the price & fix its problems. It needs a more realist half bolt like you said. A deal breaker for me to be honest. I'll look out for future reviews if they fix it.
Here's hoping Cybergun officially license this with Sig Sauer trademarks in the near future.
I sub immediately as soon as I hear the intro music.
Welcome!
Thanks for joining me.
I'm really like this GHK 553. Maybe i pick one of this guns.
Perfect review as usual
Thanks for watching 😎
I hope GHK makes an AN-94, SKS, G11, G3, or F2000 next
i'm waiting for an RK-95
@@caffeinefiend1217 i actually agree
I am actually waiting for a FA-MAS GBBR an F2000 would be great too however if you know how a real AN94 and G11 works it would be a nightmare to adapt those systems to be realistic and efficient in airsoft !
As a GBBR player, I use semi *about 70% of the time.* That fun switch isn't there for nothing!
Release it in the proper 550/551 configuration and I will gladly buy one.
Well I’ve just bought one of these and I am smitten…
I got one with the “Tactical” hand guard and (although it’s quite heavy for it’s size) I could not be happier!
Thanks dude for all the info, you just made GHK £960 :)
Awesome!
Happy new gun day. I do miss my 553, that was a lovely GBBR.
£960!?!
@@BadaBingPictures £690 for the rifle and £270 on mags (Defcon Airsoft), I hope it was worth it lol
@@leosaur_4012 GHK’s are horrendously overpriced but the 553’s seem to be solid. I haven’t heard any major issues. The only niggles I had you can see in this video, not too bad at all.
I’d love to get another one but don’t have the funds.
Enjoy!
I was wondering if you could maybe review the SG551 eventually too, as in those the trigger is apparently also been smoothened out!
Hi mate,
Congratulations on your new GBB!
Such a beauty. Nice review
Hi,
The fit between the receivers is extremely solid.
Thanks man!
I've waiting for this you glorious bastard
I am having a problem with my bolt, It just gets stuck whenever I rack it to the rear, and the bolt catch is loose (not releasing the bolt). It is very difficult to tell what it's getting stuck on. Feels like alot of friction, but I cant find any friction wear. After just examining this time. does it boith with and without the magazine. I got the gun right before the pandemic.
I'm always watching it well. ^^
You can adjust the trigger by adjusting the nut behing it.
God I hope one day GHK makes an FAL. I will buy it in a heartbeat
I hope they make a FAL too. I would like to see the Para version as well.
Also...you’re very kind for mentioning me to Airsoftology.
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate it.
Hats of again. Amazing video as always. Now if you'll excuse me, imma gonna go buy some Toblerone.
Thanks for watching.
Yes. I used to own the G5 and it’s a well priced excellent performer, also rather easy to work around too.
I’d recommend one 👍
BadaBingPictures Thanks very much 👍
I think I will go with one of those as my first gbb rifle, gives me a bit of spare cash for accessories and upgrades in the future.
Oh the WE MP5 is wonderful!
I really want the K-PDW, but I have no money at the moment.
Cheers!
I'll definitely be picking one up!
I think its cost 700$ and more
$530 here in the states, just waiting for a 20% off deal...
Just bought one love it
Jealous! I sold mine a few years ago.
Congrats on your purchase, they’re super cool!
Would prefer the rail handguard and sig drum irons, but looks nice and will likely perform well with some upgrades.
Its amazing but keeps splitting bbs… is this due to a steel bolt being slower? Or just imperfect chamber ramp and chamber chamfer geometry? If there is a fix id like to know.
Do you know if there will be Co2 mags in the future? Great Video as always!
They don't have any available right now, as far as I am aware. But they've made them for every other GBBR of theirs, so I would say it is likely.
I think the 553 would really benefit from CO2 power.
Thanks for tuning in.
its compatible with RS? for example with Sig Sauer 556/552 1913 PSB Buffer Tube Adaptive Kit?
Mr. Bing I hope your fully beaned up and doing well, don't get any silicone oil on that silestone worktop you'll never get it out, especially on the black.
And sack your fitter too it looks like he did the seal on the upstand with his elbow lol.
Haha.
Yeah the sealant started to deteriorate a couple of years after it was fitted.
Hi mate,
Thanks for watching my stuff.
So the bolt gets stuck when you hit the bolt release on an empty magazine?
@@BadaBingPictures yeah more or less I suppose, sometimes it works normal and at times it gets a little stuck by the bolt lever release ...
This rifle needs more love, how is there
Still very little coverage on it!?
Makes me want to play Counter-Strike. Probably the sexiest 5.56 rifle.
Great review man.
Just one question would you ever consider reviewing a tippmann m4 as it's a kind of a gbbr hpa cross?
Thanks, buddy.
No I wouldn’t. I don’t have the means to power it and I hate HPA with a passion!
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I appreciate you hpa but i will say if you ever get a chance to put a few rounds through one (even if its using the co2 mags for it) definitely give it ago as it's a hoot to shoot the recoil is completely different to a gbbrs.
if the plastic buffer is removed, will the gun run with a "full travel" bolt?
For gun’s sight, do you use original one or replica? With recoil shock like this, does replica sight really work? Some suggested to use real sight instead of replica one but it’s expensive
I use genuine optics. They’re expensive but they are a wise investment because you know they’ll work. You can’t place much trust in a replica sight as they’re generally made to look good and not to perform.
Look at budget firearm sights like Holosun or Vortex. They are cheaper and will withstand recoil.
The 3rd burst is very tempting.
I wonder if GHK could make full size SiG SG-550 rifle.
Is it a steel receiver and internals because shop write ups say they are alloy.
Hi bada, have you try the maple leaf hopup yet? also, how to take apart the outer barrel from the main receiver? i already taken out the recoil rod and loosen the barrel not, barrel not coming out still, did i miss something?
Hi,
No I never ended up trying the Maple Leaf, nor did I ever try to remove the outer barrel.
I’ve sold this 553 now so I cannot investigate further, sorry man.
Does GHK also sell the 553 GBBR with green furniture just like what the Swiss Army uses?
But that's good to know accuracy isn't an issue, though at the same time I feel like small issues that users can fix themselves wouldn't be remedied anytime soon.
As for this: " I’m mostly concerned about the 3rd burst and magazine problem."
From other comments here it sounds like GHK fixes 3rd burst problem wiht replacement part, so that should be "solved"?
Hi,
I’ve used Samoon several times and they’ve always been spot on. I usually get my orders in a week or just over.
As long as you request your ukara/defence number to be displayed on the shipping label you should be fine.
Thanks. Though i’d be getting the G5 itself from within the UK it’s one of the only places I can find the Hulk upgrade hop up unit in stock
I see. You’ll be A-okay. If you’re lucky they might give some freebies too.
Haven’t seen this since Black Ops 2
Trent Kraemer CSGO has one
Thank you for the good coffee time. Need to broil some water first.
i gave a sub.your reviews are so well done.maybe i will return to airsoft with a gbbr.hmm this(really big fan of hk&sig real steel)or tm mws(big fan of tm products since 99)
Thanks for tuning in and your support.
You can’t go wrong with a TM 😉
Rob Corddry, I had no idea you were into GBBRs.
Any options for the loading nozzle of the ghk 553? Are there any known upgrade nozzles?
As far as I know GHK ones are the only nozzles for the 553.
Please please adjust the screw behind the trigger....
Are they all cerakoted or is this their premium line up or limited edition typa thing
The ones in grey feature the cerakote finish. Others in black are not. I think they still produce the Sig grey cerakote versions, so it’s an ongoing productions as far as I’m aware.
@@BadaBingPictures great appreciate it
You should check out the new TM Type89
This is an old review, but I'm really hoping to get some assistance. Is there a way to reduce the FPS of this bad boy to 350?
@@BadaBingPictures Thank you so much for the reply! Whereabouts stocks the 1J nozzle?
Daniel Gibson You’re welcome. Try Samoon
someone will make a full travel bolt for it in the future im sure

Thank you very mu h for your reply bing.
Yes at this price range it is pretty much reliability that I am looking for, I have a ghk AKM and I absolutely love the rifle and the brand it is solid.
But I think for now I will buy the TM rifle, it is cheaper and the magazines are cheaper too and easier to convert to hpa.
Thanks for your help bing, I shall follow ypur advise and wait for a version 2 of the 553 😁
You’re very welcome.
Good choice with the TM. You’ll love it.
HPA?........I’m gonna pretend you didn’t say that. 🤮
@@BadaBingPictures 😅
I own the firearm version of this by sig sauer i dont know why im watching this but it was a good video
Excellent, I’d love to get some hands-on experience with the real thing.
I don’t know why either, but I’m glad you’ve tuned in to my little video.
Thanks for watching.
BadaBingPictures what country do you live in
England.
I’ll buy if there’s full marking on it.
Ping a message to Papago Arms. I’m sure they could provide you with one.

There are seriously people who care about the branding labels?
P90 is TA2015, S&W M&P is Big and Little Bird, etc.
did you.... just dipped the Tolberone to a coffee???
I did. It’s the only way to eat Toblerone.
hmmmmmm worth to try it then XD
And now we wait for the TM Type 89 review
Phosphorus hibana mains freaking out
Anyone else’s nozzle not stick in the bucking to make a good seal?
Great intro
Sent this to my friendo, he wants to get into GBBR's after seeing my WE MSK, and he wants something other than an M4... he asked if there was a 553 and lo and behiold!
Yep. 553’s and they even make 551’s.
I was about to buy a mws but I think Im gonna change my mind. This rifle looks too sexy...
Yep. It's not another M4 so it has that going for it too!
I wish i could get a real steel of this. Its like an M4 but better magazine design and AK bolt.
I’d love to see an hk licensed ghk hk416a5 in the United States
I’d love one too.
Closest I’m going to get to that would be the Viper Tech VI-46 GBBR. Lots of money though
Will you purchase marui Type89 and compare with GHK553?
I’d love to but I can’t afford it. Plus the Type 89 isn’t too popular outside of Japan so it would take forever to find a buyer after I would make the review.
It’s a lot of money to be tied up for a long period of time that could otherwise go on other projects.
Unless someone were to donate the funds, then of course! I buy it tomorrow in that case.
Can you get a full travel kit?
No. It’s impossible with the original GHK carrier because of the tail end would hit the base of the lower receiver. @05:55
I wish they’d make co2 mags
They do.
On samoon?
On samoon?
That’s where I saw them advertised, take a look. 👍
I’m about to buy 3 and the upgraded hop up. Thanks bro 👍
What upgrade internally should I put into it?
I don’t think there are much upgrade parts available to the 553.
Maple Leaf Hop Up chamber set might be a good idea.
Reminds me of the grau 556 in mw
Anyone else...
The Grau 556 is based on this rifle
