Well you're in luck because the UDK version of Firestorm from Totem Arts is going to be essentially Battlefield's conquest mode in the C&C tiberium sun universe now. And it'll be free. (Though it's a shame it is so different from the game they originally planned on making, gotta wait for the UE5 version for that).

But if I was EA, I'd allow the guys making Renegade X firestorm to go ahead with everything but offer them a contract just for firestorm that would be a bit too tempting to give up, let them have control of development with a couple caveats. And then I'd perform the marketing for them, and reap the lions share of the profits. Fans get a game they actually want, I get money. And the dev team gets some short term funding to allow them to upgrade their equipment or spend on food and expenses etcetera.

They are both great. The old one is fucking hardcore, and a lot of it is I think due to our own attachment we add to it. This one is great, for a new generation.
