Introducing CORE Series

- The Criterion CORE Series features a modern continuous taper design that does away with steps and variations in the barrels profile. These barrels are purpose built to address issues with weight distribution, balance, and handling, while increasing performance through consistent harmonics and uniform heat dissipation. Weight near the breech of the barrel absorbs heat during hard use and moves the balance of the rifle closer to the body for increased control. The front end of the barrel remains light and fast for better handling, balance, and speed.
CORE Series barrels are designed with tactical shooters in mind. They are optimized for maintaining balance when used with modern accessories like Low Power Variable Optics (LPVO’s), weapon-mounted lights, suppressors, clip-on night vision devices, and IR lasers. These components boost the capabilities of the rifle but hinder the shooter’s performance because of added weight at the front end of the rifle. These barrels have weight where it is needed most, near the chamber where there is more heat, then tapers to the muzzle. The CORE Series helps you handle real-world application by maintaining exceptional performance and rugged reliability during hard use. These barrels work for you wherever mobility is a priority and performance is essential.

Man, I love that barrel companies are moving to this philosophy of weight distribution now.
what amazes me is how long people blindly followed the govt contour.
Just got my new CORE barrel with BCM headspaced BCG and badger gas block today. The rest of the parts for this build should be in later this week...cant wait!
Amazing company, wish I had waited a few months and got this barrel profile, but Criterion is AMAZING, the customer service is AMAZING. Would recommend highly!
I have a 16 and 12.5 Core, they’re outstanding
That background music is fucking epic, especially the hook right before the beat comes back 🤟🏻
I absolutely love tapered barrels!!! I'm DEFINITELY going to get the 12.5!!!!😃 I built a 300blk with a tapered barrel, and with a suppressor it doesn't feel front heavy.
...the week after I buy your 12.5 govt profile barrel lol. Keep it up, Criterion! I'll get a 14.5 mid CORE soon!
Will do! I think you will like the CORE Series.
Ordered!
CORE Series barrels perform. No smoke and mirrors. You're going to love it.
Just ordered a 12.5 inch core. Can’t wait!
But you had to wait, didn’t you? 🤣
I just ordered one myself. ETA is May 😬
@@brettnewman9050 sure did 🤦♂️
Got an 11.5 as well now 🤣
I have 2 of your barrels, 1 on an AR15 and 1 on an AR10. They are both awesom barrels. Very accurate. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make some chrome lined magnum rifle barrels for Remington and Savage. It would be so nice to have your excellent accuracy along with the durability of chrome lining in a barrel burner.
Finally what ive been looking for, tired of people trying to throw a Faxon pencil barrel on me...they heat up after 5 rounds and barrel whip so hard the groups open up. A little more balance of weight to performance is exactly what Im looking for.
This profile seems like a real improvement in longevity and usability! With that in mind, are there any plans to cold hammer forge these in the future?
CHF is one more way to make a barrel. Done well, it's no better than cutting the rifling.
Waiting for the core .750 gas block 223 wylde barrels to hit the market. Hopefully soon.
These are sweet, the best feature is the 7-9 month wait on backorder....lets go brandon!
Cringe
I have a hybrid on my 300 i cant wait to run this core on my next 556
What do you think of your hybrid barrel and if you have the core barrel what do you think of it and if you could choose one which one would you with and why
Great points, i want this barrel now
Had a choice between this and the Hybrid 14.5 but there is a waitlist on that one so I went ahead and got the Core 14.5. Im really hoping this is a good choice being that this is my first build and im not sure if I chose the right one for me or not. Gonna be using it for training and getting better with my firearm.
Just backordered a CORE in 14.5, I can’t wait!
Did you receive it yet? How long before it shipped?
@@ericw8464 yeah I got it around mid april, ordered it in January
Where can I find the overall weight of these barrels? Can't find it listed anywhere.
13.9= 1.60lbs 14.5=1.65lbs 16=1.70lbs Those are the midlength barrel weights.
All the barrel weights are up on our website!
When will the 16inch barrel be back in stock this barrel seems perfect for my needs
The 16'' CORE Series barrels are currently available for backorder and we expect the next production run to be wrapping up in approximately 2 months.
@@CriterionbarrelsInc Thank You So Much For The Reply This Helps A lot Because I Am Building My First Rifle And Want To Say Your Marketing Team Is Awesome Really Cool Videos
@@ChickenTendies03 Thank you!
Some specs and comparisons to your other offerings would have been nice...
I would recommend taking a look at our website where you can find detailed descriptions as well as specs for comparison. Thank you for the feedback.
I love this video. Well done. Unfortunately I think Triarc is killing you guys on the social media front. You guys need to push this barrel into the hands of Guntubers to share their experience. You still need to beat out the old stigma of bad chrome jobs on rifling and the only way to accomplish that is more exposure.
Also, why did you go with the dated phosphate coating? Other barrels are using new innovative and better protective coatings for less.
I love my core barrels, but I found it funny you got a complete BCM upper, took out their barrels and put a criterion in it 😂
Same accuracy as seen with the hybrid series?
Yes. The continuous taper design uniformly distributes heat during use which leads to exceptional consistency and accuracy. The CORE Series has plenty of material to handle heat but has advantages of increases balance and handling. The internals are held to the exact same tolerances as all of our barrels and it is reflected in the accuracy you will see.
I just got my hybrid barrel in yesterday. It looks fantastic! 👍 @criterionbarrels
How does it run after a year of having it I’m now thinking of getting the hybrid profile instead of the core series because I want a 16inch coyote rifle but also for courses in the future I wish their was a video comparing the two
Anyone got the sauce on this music?
what length barrel was the demo guy holding up? was it a 14.5?
Yes, that is a 14.5'' CORE Series barrel.
@@CriterionbarrelsInc thank you. Great looking build.
Is .223 wylde better than 5.56..?
They are virtually identical with the exception of a very minor taper in the throat of the .223 Wylde chamber (forward of where the loaded round sits it the chamber). This minor taper produces more consistent chamber pressures and thus is a more accurate chamber option. You can fire full power 5.56 NATO as well as .223 Remington through the Wylde chamber as well as run it on full auto without issues. With the 1:8 twist you will be able to use all common ammunition from 55-77 grain bullets with the best performers being the heavier options 69-77 grain loads.
👍
Hello tram, what tripod is that?
Are these barrels hand lapped before they are chrome lined like the hybrid contour barrels?
Yes, all of our barrels are hand lapped during production. Our chrome lining process is unlike any other in the industry. We hold the exact same tolerances with our chrome lined barrels as we do with the rest of our barrels.
Does this barrel come as a dissipator?
16inch rifle length gas system
Joel, it does not.
Do you guys plan on making any 6mm ARC barrels?
We have been for a very long time (for OEM customers). Once the 6mm ARC has been thoroughly vetted and proven we will make a decision on a full production run for stock models.
For the Love of God I don't understand why the military went to a government profile. It would make more sense to gradually step down in circumference. Think about a baseball bat but backwards. The part that breaks on a baseball bat is beat the handle and the part that breaks on a ar barrel is right before the gas block. I'm going to order one. My next build will be a 13.7 or 11.5. Can't decide right now. I already have a 12.5 if anyone sees this please help me 🤭.
Guarantee MOA or sub MOA? If so which barre length?
Sub MOA guarantees are marketing smoke and mirrors and (in our opinion) extremely low-hanging fruit. It's 2022... if your AR is not capable of sub MOA performance, one needs to reevaluate their skills, rifle build, ammo, optics, etc. Yes, all of our barrels are capable of well under sub MOA performance so long as the rifle is properly built and the shooter has the skills to do so. Barrel length has little to do with accuracy, velocity yes, but not as much with accuracy. Typically I find shorter barreled rifles are the most accurate as they produce less barrel whip. *** For the record, we offer a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your barrel, simply give us a call and we can take it from there. ***
@@CriterionbarrelsInc I ordered an adm uic mod 2 and wondering if on a 13.9 do you offer it in hybrid also or only core ? Thanks love the gear
That 8 month wait is giving me blue balls, especially with the looming ban on our beloved murdersticks.
Any plans for an ~8.2 300 blk barrel?
They are currently being tested. I think you'll dig them.
Criterion Barrels, Inc. can you disclose the length so I can buy a handguard 😁
Why the fuck are yall sneaking around like rambo?
The real question is, why is Rambo sneaking around like us...?
Can I have a free barrel please? I'll love it long time
Basically you copied Larue's homework?
LOL, no. We used to make barrels for Larue.
@@CriterionbarrelsInc got em lol
soo... its a BA Hanson profile
No, it's quite a bit different. The CORE Series has more material around the chamber for better heat absorption and a lighter weight front end for better balance. The Hanson is basically a pencil contour without a shoulder behind the gas block...
It's a Larue Stealth barrel
@justin, bet you can't even spell harmonics.
@ cm, I have both , and they could not be more different . How ignorant are you ?
@@Justin-zw1hx know if you noticed, but criterion made the barrels for LaRue for many many years
All my ancient bolt action hunting rifles are faster and handle much better than my ARs. The institutional inertia and group think in the gun industry has always plagued objectivity in performance.
Not really a new concept, this was known for decades.
Only now is it becoming commonplace. BCM’s ELW barrels, Ballistic Advantage’s Hansons, and now this. It’s a much better design than a lot of the other profiles out there.
@@KarnivorActual Right on but it was pretty evident from the get go, that most barrel profiles were meme shit to begin with. A lot of non-AR platform barrels have sorted this out a long time ago.
I wouldn't say that there have been any contours out there like this one for decades... I think that you will find that the CORE Series barrels have many advantages that aren't currently offered. There is a significant amount of weight around the chamber for hear absorption while maintaining a lightweight and balanced front end. Additionally, we went full gun geek during the development and looked at vibration confinement, heat absorption/dissipation under sustained fire, harmonics, balance and many other factors. Shoot an email to contact@criterionbarrels.com and I'll send you one to test for yourself... I am confident you'll be pleasantly surprised.
@@CriterionbarrelsInc Well I hate to break it to you but you guys are late to the party. Go look at some non AR platform barrel contours. A cursory google image search will suffice. I'll pass on the barrel test. I have no doubt they are quality product. But if you think this is some new idea you're not fooling anyone.
@@muffemod Pretty sure if you watch the video one of the first things that was said was that we applied what we know about bolt gun barrels to this design... if your talking about non-AR platforms like bolt guns... Meaning its pre-existing technology that we applied to the AR platform. There is no attempt at fooling anyone... its a contour that offers certain advantages with weight distribution and balance. If you don't like it that's ok, this is America. Regardless, if you ever wanted to give this one a try the offer stands.
