Grimnismal: A Reading by the Wisdom of Odin

The Poetic Edda consists of various poems about the Gods and Heros within pre-christian Scandinavian history. In this video I will be reading a lesser known poem titled Grimnismal.
Please note that I am an American, living in Kentucky. I do not have any formal training on the Old Norse language, or any of its branching dialects. I am simply trying my best with the long list of names that appear in this poem. I know many of us when reading the Eddas struggle with these often alien names.
I also recognize many of us live busy lives and do not have time/energy to read the old text, so my wish is to provide this reading as an entertaining way to experience the stories of the old world.
Grimnismal is an interesting poem that features a lot of the information we know about the layout of Asgard itself. Most famously is the description of Valhalla, and the various halls of the Gods. There is an over arching story about a bet between Odin and his wife Frigg who sire two children who could potentially be king. Odin goes to prove his choice was best, and is captured by the very person he chose to support.
When he is shown kindness by none other than a boy named after Agnar (the chosen foster son of Frigg) Odin shares his information of the cosmos as a gift.
My favorite part of the poem is at the end when Odin reveals his identity, and exposes his power and various names.

I have a story I would like to share with all of you. A year ago, I had psychosis. In my psychosis I hwas obsessed with knowledge and wisdom and utterly destroyed my relationships with my parents, friends, and I also put myself through literal Hell. In my psychosis I met a dog with one white eye and one brown eye. The dog followed me in the Arizona desert and when it left my side, I would yell out "Muad'Dib!" and it would come to me, it was very obedient. Upon returning a mountain climb (which the dog followed) the dog showed me a hole in the ground and began drinking from the muddy water. The dog had leapt in it too and then jumped out and continued drinking. The dog was looking at me constantly as well while it was drinking. It would take a few licks, look at me, another few, and look at me. It was as though it was pleading me to drink from it too and so I did. The odd thing about this is I was telling my friend about this a few months ago and said it sounded very familiar to the story of Odin. In college, I learned that people who suffer from psychosis will experience things similar to the things they have read. I never read Norse Mythology nor cared because my introduction to it was Thor (never liked Marvel's Thor movies) so I never looked into the mythos. It was also because I was more interested in Greek and Egyptian.

I also like that Odin take the name of the serpent Ofnir since it has several meanings like bewilderer/weaver/inciter. I picture him like “hmmm cool name, add it to the list!!!” Lol

They're probably public domain so I'd imagine it's legal
