  • A contractor who committed 28 code violations during the building of a single home is back to work after a six-month suspension. Jake and Anita Muehlbach called 5 On Your Side in May 2023, after learning their home, built by Jeremy Lindley was in danger of collapse. In October, Lindley had to explain to the state licensing board how those mistakes happened.
After hearing testimony from everyone involved and investigators, the board found Lindley committed 28 code violations. Lindley's punishment was a six-month suspension. He also had to take 60 hours of courses and pay the board up to $5,000 for the cost of the investigation and prosecution before he could get his licenses reinstated.
By mid-May 2024, Lindley was listed as the "Qualifier" for JL Lindley Inc.,, which means he is able to build a residential project up to $750,000.
A "Qualifier" must also prove that they are in good financial standing. That's notable because the Muehlbachs were awarded a $225,000 civil judgement against Lindley, but they say he has yet to pay.
