It was a pretty solid response :) Real talk, though, the DM can absolutely metagame if she allows (often accidentally) an NPC to have knowledge that they couldn't possibly have.
Anyone can play a bard, but if you want to play a bard well, you basically need to learn how to play every other class, because that's the only way to know how best to buff your team. Magical Secrets just exacerbates the issue
Oh, man. I just got done with binge watching Campaign 1 for the first time, and now I'm going back to watch the panels for Campaign 2 I never saw before catching up with the last few episodes I've missed while watching the first campaign. It's been so long since I've heard their Mighty Nein voices and it's like coming home after being away for a long time. xD
40:00 I love how by now we know so many more references to VM and he has still made the MN stand out on their own very well! We got the best of both worlds!!!!
Collin Krueger glad it was fun, killed it for everyone standing in line for Mats signature. People were in line for four pluss hours and got turned away so he could do this panel.
There isn't a guarantee once choosing to stand that long of a line, that you will get to the pot of gold at the end. Haven't you ever been to an amusement park? Stop whining.
Our party wizard doesn't have a constitution modifier. He has a 10 con. So we all (mostly me) give him shit for it. And the worst part is, he stays away from combat, but barely 10 ft away!! And he never takes damage!!!
I’m playing my first D&D game ever....as DM lol cause I know no one who plays D&D and though I managed to get a few ppl interested to try we’re all new and no one wants the DM position. So as the person who got them all together, I got the role.... it’s erm...overwhelming
I love how so many of these events have somebody who knows nothing about A/V and isn't prepared at all. "Oh, there's gonna be a Q&A session in here at 3:00? That's cool." "Yes, where will the audience mic be?" "The what?"
kiwi_xo Because Keyleth and Kima both loose the love of their lives and have a very long life to be without them, so they would both be able to relate to each other's pain and anger. Think Arwen and Aragorn, but even crueler for Keyleth since Vax is taken when he was still relatively young. Kima may be an invert and private, but she and Keyleth loved their spouses with the same ferocity and are probably equal levels of angry, even if for different reasons. They both also had walls up at the start, nervous to be vulnerable enough to acknowledge their feelings and fall in love, in which case loosing that person is often even harder. In addition, they shared in fighting alongside each other, facing immeasurable odds and almost certain death, all while watching death and devastation around them and to people they loved. And given their long lives, they will continue to loose a lot of people they love, including all of Vox Machina. I agree with Matt, I can easily see them strongly bonded by these crosses they will have to bare.
Gabbyb133 I understand most panels can be a bit cringe, but honestly I feel like this panel was well behaved and there were some fresh questions. Maaaybe not that last question though...
Pumat Sol, no matter how many XP levels, cannot RAW more then one Simulacrum. The spell description specifically says any attempt to create a second simulacrum destroys the one already existing.
I am aware of Matt's explanation, and I have had similar conversations about this very topic, but in essence, either Matt actually house ruled the spell (totally acceptable, and absolutely within the framework of Simulacrum circa 1988 AD&D 2nd Ed PHB. I love old versions coming back because they ARE superior, and far better written.) or the assertion that they are RAW Simulacra is a mistake. I have to go a little rules lawyer here, but in this case I hope you forgive me. Per D&D 5E PHB Pg. 276: "The simulacrum is friendly to you and creatures you designate. It obeys your spoken commands, moving and acting in accordance with your wishes and acting on your turn in combat. The simulacrum lacks the ability to learn or become more powerful, so it never increases it's level or other abilities, nor can it regain expended spell slots." (skipping paragraph about healing simulacra) "If you cast this spell again, any currently active duplicates you created with this spell are instantly destroyed." RAW (Rules as Written) is pretty clear: 1. Simulacra created is under the complete and direct verbal control of the caster, but can be made friendly to designated specific people. 2. Simulacra lack learning ability (making shop keeping difficult, possibly impossible, especially remembering repeat customers) 3. Simulacra do not operate autonomously, no matter how compelling the voice acting or description given by one of the most scintillating DMs to ever grace the RPG hobby. 4. Simulacra are limited to one at a time, per caster. Under the old AD&D 2E rules, a caster, given the time and proper materials could create armies of Simulacra, and with the aid of a cleric (that is one huge list of favors or donations to a temple), could cast reincarnate on them to imbue them with a vital life force, then limited wish to give them a fragment of the caster's personality and abilities, including class, level and spell casting abilities. It is these rules that I genuinely believe Matt was going for, and the ones I personally prefer for this spell. We all love Pumat Sol, I just think Matt should have left the mystery of his duplicates mysterious, rather than spoil by putting it in too small a box.
LOL, I'm totally chilled. Like I said, I LOVE that Matt worked it this way, but I think he's painted himself into a corner by giving a bunch of nerdy ass internet people just one word too much of information.
“DM can’t metagame, he’s god.”
-Matthew Mercer, 2018
For those looking for the quote in the video it is 20:30
Matt is 100% correct. The DM is the Game Operations Director.
Which makes him G.O.D. 😂😂😂
"I accidentally learned how to play Dungeons and Dragons, and guys, it's a really fun game." -Sam Riegel
Omg I just thought about the “the shaft bends left” thing and remembering Fjord is in the shaft and my inner Laura “There is a seman in the shaft”.
It's still spreading. Laura is patient zero.
I love how whenever Taliesin gets asked anything about himself the answers are always completely unexpected, yet in no way surprising.
DM can't metagame he's god. Perfect Slogan!!!
It was a pretty solid response :)
Real talk, though, the DM can absolutely metagame if she allows (often accidentally) an NPC to have knowledge that they couldn't possibly have.
@@SilliusBuns God put that knowledge in that NPCs head, so still checks out.
It would be hilarious if Matt just went in to one of the players inventory and added Craven Edge just as a throwback.
16:15. A better question and answer will never exist
An entire world of Pumat Sols is just Minnesota
I've been to Minnesota. It's terrible.
Respectfully I'd have to agree
Wait Minnesota is just a bunch of Pumat Sols??
Laura has so much respect and appreciation for Sam, I love it

25:50 Sneeze of death
"Roll initiative guys" 😂😂😂
DM learns he can pickpocket player and suddenly make a perception check followed by nevermind becomes really really bad
That last question though, making me spit out my drink?!
*crosses fingers* dear god, if there was any panel that I don't want ruined... this is it!
the timestamp 20:15 is foreshadowing
40:00 I love how by now we know so many more references to VM and he has still made the MN stand out on their own very well! We got the best of both worlds!!!!
41:00 the D&D parent curse vs Perc'ahlia
50:55 as a Vaxleth diehard this is k i l l i n g me oh my god.... I'm crying again
Aw no one asked Sam a question
Travis moderating instead of Matt or Brian? This is an interesting change of pace. :o
I'M STEALING HEALING PASTRIES
This panel was so much fun!
Collin Krueger glad it was fun, killed it for everyone standing in line for Mats signature.
People were in line for four pluss hours and got turned away so he could do this panel.

You're not entitled to anything.
Liam, In our campaign we are also at level 4 and my character has a whopping 19 hit points
Our party wizard doesn't have a constitution modifier. He has a 10 con. So we all (mostly me) give him shit for it. And the worst part is, he stays away from combat, but barely 10 ft away!! And he never takes damage!!!
So glad I got to see these guys and get my question answered!
I am all for Travis and Laura naming their child Pike, lol.
Tiny trains?

Hey that's me at 33:30 !
wish these had better audio quality :/ guess im lucky to see them at all
20:05 Wow. That's really evil, actually. I'm not sure that I'm okay with that.
24:40 - Travis speaks gospel
Plus points for anyone who recognized THE LEGENDARY DANI CARR as the first person who asked the first question
It’s not.. but ok
I can't hear anything very well....And I have my headphones on!
Absolutely agree
Who was in charge of the audio? The mics are too low, can really hear what is being said by the panel.
OH THERE'S CALEB
This is awesome!!!!
WARNING TO ALL EARPHONE USERS. THAT INTRO WILL HURT YOU.
I love how so many of these events have somebody who knows nothing about A/V and isn't prepared at all.
"Oh, there's gonna be a Q&A session in here at 3:00? That's cool."
"Yes, where will the audience mic be?"
"The what?"
Anyone got a timestamp for when a woman said "Emilio can't make it" ? (before he came and said he made it)
pretty much starting at 14:00
Her statement occurred prior to the taping. Emilio shows up at 14:00, as far as I can tell.
Me watching this: Oh, I can't hear anything better turn up the vol.... OH GOD, MY EARS!!!
I don't understand when Matt tells Marisha that her and Kima would have a lot to talk about?
kiwi_xo Because Keyleth and Kima both loose the love of their lives and have a very long life to be without them, so they would both be able to relate to each other's pain and anger. These are just timestamps for myself to come back to
30:14
28:15
Am I the only one who has trouble with the sound on this one?
What was that last question?
She asked Taliesen if he still had shit on his dick, referring to the hospital shenanigans from C2E12
Go Cardinals...
hopefully someone comments question timestamps so i can skip the inevitable cringe questions....
Gabbyb133 I understand most panels can be a bit cringe, but honestly I feel like this panel was well behaved and there were some fresh questions.
Maaaybe not that last question though...
Eh pretty much every nerd has at least a little cringe in them. Gotta roll with it
I swear, all these cons have the worst AV people. The sound is always jacked up.
Pumat Sol, no matter how many XP levels, cannot RAW more then one Simulacrum. The spell description specifically says any attempt to create a second simulacrum destroys the one already existing.
dunewizard I'd like to point out that he didn't create the simulacrums, the Cerberus Assembly gave them to him.

Fun fact, the Simulacrum can make Simulacrum. Until he's out of Simulacrum with 9th level spell slots.
