Hi from Costa Rica, I like your videos very much, thank you. In Colombia Poppers are popular in the Amazon tributaries, but many fishernan prefer big propellers lures for fishing Peacock bass ( In Colombia we call it Pavón, in Brazil we call it Tucunaré ). We use big prop lures like the Rip Roller 6.5 inches long from High Roller fishing company . BUT I think for fishing black bass in US you can use a little top water prop lure call the Grim Ripper same fishing company. The Grim Ripper size is 4 inches. This lure is very famouse here, the idea is to cast it, let it quiet for 6 to 12 seconds over the surface and then pull it short but strong. Recovered it short in several pauses. The best way is when the propeller produce much sound and splash a lot of water. Big Peacock bass from 5 pounds to 20 pounds go crasy with this top water lure. Excuse my bad english
Great information and presentation and presentation!! Love all the different poppers on the market Black one is very interesting. I have been using mostly the tried and true pop R. Thanks Ty
You could be over spooling, or to heavy of line or to lite. Spooling line on to tight. Tyler’s reel fishing just made good video on how to spoil reels.
Bought a popper a few days ago... This video has inspired me to go out there and just use it a ton ..thank you !
Old school poppers rock the water. I love them.

Pop r is all you need unless you need one that walks. Trust me, I've got rebels, yellow magic, megabass, even googan and the rebel pop r is the deal.
I just started using braid and it seems like it grabs the line in the spool soo it doesn't cast long at all..any tips please?
Are you using a bait caster or spinning.
