If it goes up and you hold, you pay tax, that is-at least the new *double* (unrealized) capital gains tax for individuals? You haven't even cashed out yet so it's not really your money yet. After you pay this gargantuan tax, then if what you're holding goes down, then what? You don't get a refund?!. Can you also explain why the government is even able to tax Bitcoin when it is not legal tender and they dont " own" this " currency"? What does it mean when it becomes legal tender such as a couple of countries that have now recognized it as such? If there's no capital gains tax in Puerto Rico now and it's incorporated into one of the United States oh, that's not good news for Puerto Ricans! Texas is in the process of recognizing it as well. What's interesting that I just heard from James Rickards is the explanation about why hyperinflation (and deflation too) will occur...and it's not the devaluing of the dollar by printing into oblivion, but it's the velocity at which it's spent.... so, key word being "velocity." So, $10 dinner w/ tip, then the waitress takes her tips and buys gas, then goes and buys bread. So there's 3 levels of velocity. When $1 used to control $30 it now controls $3. Can you speak to that? He also had an interesting perspective on cash. You = cash is trash. James = depends. So, he was pointing out that when the stock market tanks, you'll have cash to grab it cheap... same in real estate or what have you. Can you speak to that? Thanks very much.
Read the book "LAYERED MONEY" not only does he go in depth into Bitcoin, but he goes into the history of money so you get a FULL understanding of how money worked in the past, present, and for the future!! Completely changed my view of how money works.

There is one HUGE issue missing in Pomps and other Bitcoiners Bitcoin narrative in regards to Bitcoin not being a permission-based system. At the end of the day, you still need permission from the banking systems and the governments that control and regulate them, and their fiat based on/off ramps, to be able to transact in the value that is stored within the Bitcoin system, in the real world. So it still is a "permissioned" system. As long as we still pay taxes and purchase goods and services in fiat. And Bitcoin is still a very long way off from replacing the dollar, or fiat, as a payment layer.

Don't listen to anyone. Buy bitcoin. So many scams in this space. Buying alts may work out buts its basically a casino. Bitcoin holds it's value better than any other crypto. This is true weather other coins have better tech or not. More people use and mine bitcoin by a very large margin. The whole market moves with it. Bitcoin is king. It took me 6 years to realize this because I kept getting caught up in the "tech" of other projects.

Xrp is trash, xlm is a lot better in tokenomics. Cardano has potential for smart contracts, but none of these coins compete with bitcoin’s use case. There is no harder money than bitcoin

What's interesting that I just heard from James Rickards is the explanation about why hyperinflation (and deflation too) will occur...and it's not the devaluing of the dollar by printing into oblivion, but it's the velocity at which it's spent.... so, key word being "velocity." So, $10 dinner w/ tip, then the waitress takes her tips and buys gas, then goes and buys bread. So there's 3 levels of velocity. When $1 used to control $30 it now controls $3. Can you speak to that? He also had an interesting perspective on cash. You = cash is trash. James = depends. So, he was pointing out that when the stock market tanks, you'll have cash to grab it cheap... same in real estate or what have you. Can you speak to that? Thanks very much.

There is one HUGE issue missing in Pomps and other Bitcoiners Bitcoin narrative in regards to Bitcoin not being a permission-based system.
At the end of the day, you still need permission from the banking systems and the governments that control and regulate them, and their fiat based on/off ramps, to be able to transact in the value that is stored within the Bitcoin system, in the real world.
So it still is a "permissioned" system.
As long as we still pay taxes and purchase goods and services in fiat.
And Bitcoin is still a very long way off from replacing the dollar, or fiat, as a payment layer.

Don't listen to anyone. Buy bitcoin. So many scams in this space. Buying alts may work out buts its basically a casino. Bitcoin holds it's value better than any other crypto. This is true weather other coins have better tech or not. More people use and mine bitcoin by a very large margin. The whole market moves with it. Bitcoin is king. It took me 6 years to realize this because I kept getting caught up in the "tech" of other projects.
@@mckay7355 Buying top altcoins by marketcap in the months before the next bullrun isn't a bad strategy. Like the top 10 altcoins, but be picky. Proven growers are a good start.
