LL has real song writing chops. She and Mooney built themselves from the ground up and learned everything the hard way. This song brings back so many wonderful memories. My grandfather only owned one album and yes it was you ain’t women enough. He would play it and I would sing. He used to say I have my very own Loretta right here in my holler. I’m now 65 and he’s gone , because of Loretta Lynn’s music I have great memories. My dream is to meet her, never had the change being a military wife I was never around when she had a concert. Got to meet crystal Gayle though even got a hug. I cried I was so happy. It would be the grandest thrill of my life. God bless you Loretta Lynn for giving us great music and sharing your life with us.

True. I love Loretta and I even love Doolittle, but I think it's important not gloss over the fact that he did abuse her. But no matter what, he couldn't take away her strength. She's one of my favorite people. Doolittle's birthday was yesterday and she still misses him. That's true love. I don't doubt that. But the fact is she was 14 when they married and he did abuse her. I'm glad that she wrote 'Still Woman Enough' after he died. She didn't dishonor his menory...but she did tell it like it is and even ends the book with "and Doolittle woulda whooped me for saying that". If I saw any man hit Loretta I'd be ready to take HIM to fist city. Woman too!

What a voice and personality when she was young. She can still sing today at 88, not many can say that, and she still has that happy personality, but with a little sadness behind it.
just watched coal miners daughter for probably the 10th time in my life and realized i really never heard this women sing. the world hasnt always been at our finger tips. Yeah, Sissy did a great job, but Lorettas voice is amazing. now i know what all the fuss is about lol.
