I'm 59 years old. I grew up with this kind of good country music. Watching Hee haw was one of our favorite shows. I remember the Bill Anderson show, Pop goes the Country with Ralph Emery. Thank God that these shows were saved and thank God for modern technology so we can enjoy watching them again.
Here is Tammy Wynette's very first recording. It was on Epic records, released in 1966. It was right out of Jan & Dean and the Beach Boys! I loved it instantly. Every recording she ever made after this was a slow, sad, soggy ballad about unrequited love, broken homes, lost lovers, etc.
Country music when it was great. Thanks to my mother (god rest her soul) she brought me up with this great country music and im afraid we'll never hear country music like this ever again
Love this song !!!! Love Tammy wynette. This woman was married four times and I think alot of her songs were about experiences she went through as a wife. I love her very true words !!!!♥️♥️♥️
i miss this kind of country music. this is my parents era. the real country artist. tammy was one of the best. i remember seeing her at the counrty fair. what a counrty star.
I started listening to Tammy when I was just a baby! Finally got to see her in concert in my 30s. Was so thrilled when she actually played this song! My favorite Tammy song! Think I was the only one in the arena who knew it. Most folks were there to see Randy Travis, not me, I was there to see Tammy!! And she played this!!! One of the best memories of my life so far!!
Taking nothing away from Randy Travis but Tammy Wynette was more of a star by her 3rd song than Randy Travis will ever be. He did have a few right good songs and in my opinion every song that Tammy sang was great. It would be very hard for me to pick a favorite Tammy Wynette song because I love all of her songs. Apartment #9 Stand by your man Divorce Almost Persuaded all stands out. Tammy and George duets were absolutely amazing. Golden Ring We Are Gonna Hold On. Tammy Wynette and Elton John's A Woman's Needs Tammy and Sting Every Breath I Take. I mean the list just goes on and on. Your Good Girl Is Gonna Go Bad All Tammy Wynette songs are in a class of their own
The inside joke of sorts on The Melody where The Steel Guitar Player salutes one of Country & Western's true Queens with notes that sound like a Trumpet Flourish is a very clever touch!😂🎤👸🎼🎵🎶🎸🎹🥁B.W.
the first album i ever owned was a hand me down from my parents T tammy wynette greastest hits i could sing the whole albun and still can the good stuff never goes out of style
Yes she sadly passed away entirely way too young. Her music was very real and had meaning. She could hit the high notes hit the low notes and every single note in between. If we live a thousand .years there will never be another Tammy Wynette. Tammy was and still is my favorite lady country singer. I have to add another top notch young female singer who can sing anything she sets her mind to sing. The range and raw talent of her singing capabilities are unparalleled. She sings everything from AC/DC PINK FLOYD JOAN JETT BLONDIE DOLLY HER OWN MUSIC IS INCREDIBLE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT MILEY CYRUS CANNOT SING AND SING IT VERY WELL. Miley's version of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb is amazing. Her version of Wish You Was Here is also incredible. Heart of Glass I Love Rock and Roll awesome. Miley's version of AC/DC Dirty Deeds is great I would love to hear her sing Money Talks and Thunderstruck. There is NOTHING that Miley Cyrus cannot sing and make it sound great. Listen to her sing her God Mother's (Dolly) song Jolene
I grew up on this, and Tammy is the First Lady of Country Music, but thank god for Brother Boy in SORDID LIVES. He brought Tammy's songs back to our generation IMHO. Along with her vocals on 'Justified And Ancient', she left us way too soon.
I was born in 1991 but I spent a lot of time with a grandmother born in 1931. She used to listen to music from the 30's through the 60's. Especially Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette. I love the old country music because it's what she listened to.

I was born January 28th 1989 I was raised by my grandma from birth she was born in 1944 so I was raised on the old country music as far back as the 1930s and I love the old country music a lot better than the country music today

Tammy was the most “punk rock” country music star in history. Too many people from my generation don’t appreciate or respect how many doors she opened for women to speak their mind not only in country music, but in music in general. She really picked up where Wanda Jackson left off. Took some massive balls from Tammy to drop a fat load on how big of a shithead George Jones was during the peak of his career. Especially in a decade when it was only acceptable for women to be “proper” and “sweet” in their music. Tammy is a total G and I wish more young people understood this.

Following the times right
I've never seen the inside of a bar room
Or listened to a Jukebox all night long
But I see these are the things that bring you pleasure
So I'm gonna make some changes in our home
I've heard it said if you can't beat 'em join 'em
So if that's the way you wanted me to be
I'll change if it takes that to make you happy
From now on you're gonna see a different me
Because your good girl's gonna go bad
I'm gonna be the swinginest swinger you've ever had
If you like 'em painted up, powdered up
Then you oughta be glad
'Cause your good girl's gonna go bad
I'll even learn to like the taste of whisky
In fact, you'll hardly recognise your wife
I'll buy some brand new clothes and dress up fancy
For my journey to the wilder side of life
Because your good girl's gonna go bad
I'm gonna be the swinginest swinger you've ever had
If you like 'em painted up, powdered up
Then you oughta be glad
'Cause your good girl's gonna go bad
Oh yeah, your good girl's gonna go bad
