And think about it in some places if you can't afford your kids you have to give them up or else watch you and your other kids starve, so when compared to that living situation having children is a luxury

      Tbh the mother really should be ashamed. She makes her poor teenagers watch all her annoying brats so she can go out and have a splendid time while her teens slave away on the kids *she* made. It was her decision and her teens shouldn't have to pay the price for it.They deserve a life too. Unless the enjoy it(probably not), which is great, but the concept isn't ethical not caring or kind. Parents like that are why we are overpopulating. It's cruel the parents would have so many kids and they can't even have a fun childhood because they can't go anywhere fun because they're poor. It's not like their teenage years are fun either because they have to do nothing but watch their younger siblings. Parents like those are seriously cruel and don't care about the planet. This is why we have poverty, world hunger, and more. This needs to stop. The parents should be ashamed. The kids did nothing wrong though they're getting rude stares and comments just because the parents don't care.
      Even if you have enough money to afford having a bunch of kids it doesn't matter because that still causes overpopulation.
      I know I'm only fourteen but at least I am able to see ethics.
      Maybe you want to have a big family but you also shouldn't be selfish, and please, figure out what a condom is and how to use it please.
      I'm not shaming you for wanting a big family but rather being selfish and not thinking about your kids or the planet Earth.
      None of this was to offend anyone, I just wanted to speak out on my opinion. So I'm sorry if you have ever been offended, but if you did, you should probably consider what decisions you are making. I just want the world to be a happy place and I had no intention of offending anyone.
      Peace✌

      I was the oldest of 5 kids, 13 years old when the youngest was born. I wouldn't say I raised him, but I did help out and didn't seem to mind too much (loved babies anyway), probably enjoying rocking him to sleep for naps more than changing diapers though. Lol. But I got a lot of valuable practice/experience. I think it helped mold my current abilities to care for infants and young children and that I can take with me into motherhood (and I want to be a mom someday!). But importantly, maybe there's a difference since we only had 5, and I wasn't his primary caregiver. I don't go for the idea of having so many kids you MUST have your older daughters do ALL the raising. That doesn't seem right to me. I was only giving my mom supplemental help.

      Marie Katherine Tbh the mother really should be ashamed.
      Peace✌

      Sadly, most big families I've seen make their kids look after each other a little too much. Of course 2 people can't watch over 12+ kids on their own, and that's really sad because the older siblings didn't ask for all those kids. That's my biggest problem with big families. If the parents take care of their kids all on their own without having to force the older siblings to become parents themselves- then I'm okay with them.

      The male ego often is so huge the best way to train them is to buy a 'how to train your old dog' book and apply these lessons to your man.... He will be potty trained and you will be all the happier for it!
      Men need to be praised just like the family dog to reinforce positive behaviors
      Stroking their ego 'good boy, good dog! ' pats him on head....

      @Angrry Ereg maybe so but some women find it necessary to keep them around
      Applying these few rules can make it easier to live with thrm
      Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks?
      I taught mine to fetch, so he would call me everyday after work and see what he could bring home!
      By giving him the happy home coming you would give your dog when he returns the stick you have reinforced that desire to do good and come back to a happy home coming... It works really well
      You would be surprised how well all men do under this type of training...

    The Hamlins to me define what a real family should be so to speak. Not necessarily having a large number of children but loving and providing for them to the best of ur ability. Lee is a good man to be a father to the kids who aren’t his biologically, a lot of guys would run away from their own responsibilities let alone those of another. There’s a lot of love in that family and kudos to them for not being on benefits. He may not be a rich man but he’s providing and that’s worth it’s weight in gold. Such a well mannered beautiful family :). The other mother looking for baby number 15...not so much. I feel sorry for her daughter Georgia as she seems to be the real mother. I can’t imagine having 14 kids and fussing about my dating profile and going to shindigs while my teenage daughter is at home being a mother to her 13 siblings. It’s beyond sad and completely unfair. That woman needs her puss sewed up. Seriously it’s disheartening what that girl has to contend with through no fault of her own. I hope she’s able to make her way in life away from all that unnecessary drama. Seems like a sweet girl.

    What I do hate about many big families is that they expect their older children to help with the younger ones and in doing so cut their childhoods short. If you can't look after the amount of children entirely on your own without your children's help then don't have that many children

    • @HandspunTreasures
      @HandspunTreasures 6 років тому +50

      And you think that this is limited to big families? My Mom only had me and I looked after myself a good portion of the time once I was over the age of about 8. How lovely of you to determine that my mother shouldn’t have had me because she couldn’t keep her eye on me 24/7. That would mean that most people shouldn’t have children because look at how many homes have 2 parents working... those parents aren’t watching/raising their children most of the time, daycares and teachers are. Or heaven forbid parents get divorced. Guess we should instigate a no children at all policy....

    • @quinnsummers348
      @quinnsummers348 6 років тому +106

      HandspunTreasures looking after yourself and looking after 11 siblings is very different. If you are 8 you can manage to look after yourself and you don't have to be watched 24 7. However when you was 8 did you have to go around looking after younger siblings, doing washing, cleaning and cooking? Looking after yourself is very different, if you wanted to go out as a teenager you didn't have any responsibilities you had to do other than care for yourself. However, teens of larger families can struggle to keep friendships because they're busy looking after their siblings, playing, cooking, cleaning along with other stuff like school, so cannot go out and enjoy their childhood. If you was 8 and had to take care of yourself entirely on your own, like making your own dinners every meal, doing your own washing, doing the dishes, hovering forcing you to work several hours a day, then may be they shouldn't have had you because they aren't taking proper care of you, however if you are simply being left alone it's fine. I don't see why you think you're problems are on the level of the eldest kids of big falines, getting offended that you had to take care of yourself whilst these other kids are being forced to spend thejr childhood taking care of themselves and all their siblings taking away their freedom

    • @HandspunTreasures
      @HandspunTreasures 6 років тому +41

      Tesco Value I may have been an only child, but I have 5 children of my own. You’re damn right I expect them all to pitch in. My oldest is 18 and my youngest is 9. They’re all plenty old enough to do things for themselves. I won’t be there to pick up after them all the time when they’re grown so they better learn. Yes, my oldest 2 do dishes and laundry and everyone tracks down missing shoes and other belongings so that we can all leave the house. There are 5 of them and 1 of me and I can’t be in 5 places at once. All my kids help make their own lunches for school and other daily tasks that need to be completed are done as assigned. I am their mother not their maid. I believe that my point was older children or only children often do for themselves or younger siblings. It teaches responsibility, teamwork as a family unit, and respect for each other and themselves. It shows them they are capable of doing things without me which is good if I ever want them to live outside my house. We saw about 15 minutes in the lives of that home with 11 children that still lived in it. Nowhere near enough to make any type of assessment other than a surface one. I also didn’t say my problems were on the level of the eldest kids of big families, just pointing out that small families rely on older children to help out as well. It doesn’t deprive them of the opportunities to go out. Obviously the child that got pregnant didn’t get that way by staying at home taking care of the younger siblings...

Of course she has to accept government assistance. She's not lazy, she can't work more than 40hrs a week without leaving her kids to her older kids. It's a difficult situation that no one besides that family and similar families can understand.

It isn't fair that she is giving up her childhood to care for siblings. If mom would stop popping out babies she certainly COULD go to work while the kids are in school.
      Georgia, when you finish High School, pack your bags and run like he'll as far from there as you can. She will be saddled with caring for siblings the rest of her life.
