My mom is blind and has three children. I am the eldest. I was NEVER made to take care of my siblings, except for of course the occasional date night babysitting or what have you when I was 14 and older. She simply got creative - put different textured stickers and velcro on appliances to tell the buttons apart; arranged the house in a certain way and we all knew not to rearrange it so she knew how to get around safely. She would take taxis to our school functions or have neighbors take us places we needed to go. My mom was the most involved, loving, and attentive parent we could ever ask for. Blindness is not an excuse for doing this to your children...
Yes, a blind parent can be just as good a parent as a seeing one. Of course there might be the occasional question about something that needs to be seen not felt or so but for most of the time they can do stuff just as well as seeing people :) You mom is a great example of that.
And they have the gall to refuse extra help available. It’s one thing to refuse because you do it yourself, but to refuse because you rather put it on your kids is beyond messed up.
Simply put these are two people who had NO BUSINESS having children... maybe ONE that they were CAPABLE of caring for... but 7 kids?????????? No....... They have children simply to take care of the other kids they already can not care for.... They CLAIM they "... can do it and care for them..."??????? THEY (meaning the parents) are NOT caring for the children..... their older two children are taking care of the 5 youngest....... I agree they should be taken in to care and the two older girls should be finally permitted to have a NORMAL childhood for what is left of it and what their parents have not already stolen from them......
@Sweet Cheeks ikr, it's okay to have one or two kids as guides and to help around the house but the rest of the kids are just liabilities and will end up not feeling loved
They have the human right to chose to have children. However I'm not happy with the reason they said they want a lot. And where are the kids rights to be a kid
That’s exactly what I said to the tv! Makes me so mad. They said like a big family for selfish reasons like for the kids to take care of them JUST MAKES ME SO IRATE
Quite frankly the camera crew should be obligated to report this family. The people who clean the house 2 hours a week should be reporting the conditions. This is not ok
Allyson McGaughey-Morgan the children didn’t choose this and yes it’s illegal neglecting ur kids and making your older ones take care of them. I understand they’re disabled but there’s still more they could do but are just lazy.
Deborah Borne These two girls have parents who are disabled and can’t take care of the kids properly because of their disability like normal parents so basically let’s just say you had both parents that are disabled and they don’t take care of you normally like normal parents that doesn’t mean they are abusing you that just means they can’t take care of you properly not abuse Think about it before you say that it’s abuse when it’s not
The girls aren’t giving the parents a break, the girls are doing the full time parenting role these lazy adults should be doing. My heart is breaking for the girls and my stomach is turning at how neglected all of the children are.
I know but these parents can't really help that there blind but they basically said that the only reason they wanted kids is so somebody can take care of them when they are older and when I heard about that it made me mad and the older sister shouldn't hate her sister at least she tries to help with her brothers
@@dragonflystormchaseradvent8233 look I'm not trying to be mean but I understand your point and I understand mine yes it's not right for the parents do have all those kids just so they can take care of them when they are older but the parents actually tried you would be the same way if you couldn't see they tried and it is actually nice on the kids because that gives them good experience for when they have kids of there own I don't think it's actually that bad because if I have kids I want them to have that kind of experience so when they have kids I won't make them do it at a young age but I want them to be a good parent because most parents know and days are abused and I know what it's like because I have a father that's like that and my mom doesn't do anything about it and I have two brothers and I have to take care of them most of the time so I know what it's like and I'm sorry if I sound mean but I'm really not
I just rocked my 5 year old to sleep because she loves it...that poor little girl being sat down at 3 YEARS OLD and told she needs to be a caregiver is utterly heartbreaking 💔
The parents* seemed to have been scheming from the beginning, without any care for their children’s well-being. I’m nervous for how they all turned out
It's a terrible situation for the children who hopefully all adults now. Little Jenny trying to commit suicide breaks my heart. The eldest daughter appears to have no emotion for anything and anyone which is an understandable considering the strain and stress of her situation. It must seem endless to her but I hope that she eventually got her own life now she is an adult.
At least the mother is doing something. I watched another British child care giver documentary. Mother said she was "depressed." Wouldn't work and she had 20/20 vision. SMH
Louisa has no emotion at all. She hits all the kids and feels no remorse at all. Mom saying the older girls give them a break because they have things to do. Give them a break? From what? Parenting? They had no business having kids!
When you've lived in a household like that, it's bound to have affects on you. I'm not saying that Louisa cant help doing what she does, I'm just saying that the way she's grown up, with basically no mental and physical support, is what led her to act this way. After all, she is still a child. I feel so bad for both them.
Breaks my heart hearing Jenny’s voice break as she said she wished her parents weren’t blind…bc I think blind or sighted they’d be exactly the same. Blind parents take care of their children every day and fight against being seen like these people. Their children are clean, fed, and well cared for…by their PARENTS. They could do more, but it’s easier to pick up a beer and a smoke and wait for the girls to do it all. These people are pathetic.
@@damecaprimm2726 they can have as many children as they want as long as they will take good care of them. Which this parents don't and want the other way.
If Dad can see well enough to read, he can help care for the children. Neither of the parents are totally blind. They can do way more than they are. Their kids are being used as loving servants.
My main concern is that the mother is pregnant again and friggin smoking.... BRUV. If she can see enough to light a smoke and not set her hand on fire then she can see enough to pick the baby up off the floor or summat
That dad are you kidding me can't change a diaperrr..but pour a beer an cigarette..mother smoking with dad just chilling while kids doing all the worrrkk..makes me sicckk
Mrs. Ozdemir it made me cry when the older sister said that she hates her sister and doesn’t love her. My siblings make me mad but I love them very very much
@@trayatate8478 That's because no-one showed HER love. Only dump all the weight on her and she is overwhelmed. Also, angry and the younger sister is a safe outlet. I feel awful for those girls, ALL THE PARENTS FAULT
@@trayatate8478 my brother hates me and when i was a kid he bruised me daily and left me out the house in the snow for a couple of hours only to get let in when mum got home from work. He still hates me and we havent talked in 20 years. He wont even talk to my daughter either.
I didn't see the mother actively care for one of her children or take responsibility once. You don't need vision to feed with a bottle or soothe a crying baby. Zero effort.
Ikr! I'm fully blind, 13, and can do just about anything a sighted person can do. These parents don't make the children help cause they're blind, they do it cause they're lazy
Ok number 1 I have a screen reaeer that tells me what I'm typing and how to post it, and 2 I can listen to the voices and get what's happening just fine. Also, if you say it like that it sounds really offensive so please in future please be nicer with comments like this.
This is the type of couple who should NOT have children. The mother is smoking and knows she's pregnant? And that poor baby sleeping on the floor and they leave him there, the older siblings doing all the work, ugh so many things about this.
I’ve left my child in the floor sleeping many times when they’ve fallen asleep. But my floor never looked like that.. they have lice.. watch again.. all they do is scratch their heads ..
I hope the eldest girls are now living a happy healthy life. The 2 blind parents should be ashamed taking advantage of their older kids. Breaks my heart
you absolutely have every right to feel offended. they make a bad name for disabled people being able to be parents and live and function "normally". I'm in a bloody wheelchair and that never stopped me from taking the absolute best care of my children that I can possibly give. this is just pure laziness and irresponsibility. they could have help, and instead choose to have more children and turn the older ones into abused, neglected slaves. it genuinely makes me sick to my stomach.
Yes, that's what got me the most. Sad! The parents, especially the mother don't understand what parenting is. She seems clueless to what her daughters need emotionally. I don't doubt that they love the kids, they are just not well equipped to care properly for them and that has nothing to do with the blindness.
I feel so bad for the girls. The answer 'I like having lots of kids around because they can look after us when we're older' ... really just made my stomach drop. The eldest daughter really is doing her best but it's plain to see that there is a quiet resentment of her siblings. It's normal for siblings to not get along now and again but the way she is with her sister who co-parents and when she says she's not a cuddly person... I just felt like even if she isn't aware of it yet, she's angry at her situation. I hope that their parents will accept the help that's offered and stop having children in order to basically breed a crew of caretakers.
The way the parents talked about the older one wanting to stop caring for her siblings, like "She couldn't go to Young Carers then", sounded like they used the program to threaten her. "If you don't help out, you won't be able to go to these meetings anymore." It was her only hobby and free time.
I think the emotional strain on their children is enormous. The children are parents and the parents are sucking the life out of them. The woman with fibromyalgia tried to kill herself. Probably just to make her son feel guilty. I have fibromyalgia and a lot more and live a normal life regardless of the pain and chronic fatigue. The blind (?) Parents to have a child try to kill herself because this lifestyle and the oldest never wanting children is criminal. What these greedy people have taken from their children.
@the firstnoob - yes that's exactly what I thought about the mother/son as far as her attempting suicide, that she only did it for attention and to make him feel guilty. I think she is incredibly selfish. What I want to know is why she doesn't receive more help..who on earth thinks it's okay for her teenage son to have to bear the stress of the whole situation. I felt so badly for him as well. All these children are bloody slaves in my opinion. I wonder what happened to the teenager if he wanted to go to university? All these questions...makes me angry and sad to think about it all.
@@ridespirals I thought that too. She seemed to find it funny that the ten year old neighbour killed herself and she's holding in the laughs talking about her nine year old sister's near suicide
NatisPL I was wondering the same thing I bet that's why the oldest is the way she is she dosent seem like she got alot of love, kisses, hugs or attention
I hate HATE how everyone only mentions “poor Jenny” and won’t even use Louise’s name or acknowledge she is just as much the victim. Because she’s not as bubbly and cute and has lashed out at the other kids stemming obviously from her own depression and unbearable burdens and a complete lack of even ONE person loving or hugging her. How could she ever be normal. “Smiling” when she’s talking about her sisters attempt and saying she doesn’t care is a coping strategy and and trying to mask fear and anxiety. She was also Jenny’s age a couple years before and nobody said “ poor girl I want to rescue her” then either. A hopeless child is a child who can not mature emotionally or develop properly. Don’t blame her for that. She most of all needs intervention because she has suffered the most.
I couldn’t agree more. Each of these 7 (so far!) children are showing different dysfunctional coping mechanisms to a cruel parental set up. And the documentary is only a glimpse. If the parents aren’t able to see, their children are prey to abuse from the outside world as well. Who knows what Louise is undergoing. Poor kid!
She definitely is a victim of this backward life and her parents that sentenced her to that life. She also might be autistic, that's where the lack of emotions might come from. She seems detached, cold, unemotional and callous when laughing about her sister's suicide attempt. It could be from trauma and autism. It is tragic indeed.
Louise actually responded to a comment that I made I think on either this video or another upload of the same video. A couple of the kids including Louise were in the comments talking about and defending their life. Apparently the production people and the camera people were editing things to make it look worse than it actually was. Louise told me and one of her comments that The crew would ask her to say certain things and then they would edit it into the show to make things sound worse than they actually were.
this 15 year old shows signs of serious emotional disturbance. Bless her heart for helping, but obviously she did'nt get enough affection so thus doesn't show the little ones affection. She takes it out on her sister who is the other half of the help. This whole family situation needs intervention NOW.
this was 13 years ago so the oldest would be 25 now or 26 (my age). I hope she has turned out ok. It's clear she has some socipath signs but hopefully she'll find her way out of it
”The parents are fiercely independent and refuse to accept help” - clearly they are not fiercely independent if they need to rely so heavily on a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old! Forcing your kids to do your work for you is not being independent, it is being irresponsible. They should make sure to get outside help so that the kids can be kids. The two older ones should be able to be regular big sisters to their younger siblings and help out, but they shouldn't have to take on parental responsibility.
A lot of blind people are able to take care of their own children.. this is disappointing that this show would film this but not take action.. these children deserve better. Child services should be contacted if the parents are unable to take care of the children. They can help find resources to help the family. And if the parents aren’t willing to put the work in then they will find someone who is willing to care for these kids.
Did anyone else find it chilling at how the older sister smiled when she was talking about Jenny attempting suicide? What a sad and tragic situation. 🙁
When the dad said: “we want to show people we can do it” I can’t believe he is still saying we since THEIR children are taking care of the whole family...
@@trayatate8478 Just because you're blind it doesn't mean you get to abuse your children and make them do literally everything. You don't get to smoke and sit around while your house is filthy disgusting and you force your children to become parents.
This is heartbreaking, the oldest daughter is already showing signs of resentment and anger. The mother is far more concerned with her cigarette than her infant sleeping on a filthy floor. I know a totally blind adult that is able to keep a clean home and has a successful career. If these parents pride (refusing further assistance) is being put ahead of their children's safety, health and happiness then they are not putting their children's welfare first.
Kelly Lawlor right! The interviewer askes her if she hugs and cuddles the baby at night when she puta him down for sleep- of course NOT. She is not his birth mother and she's too busy doing 'adult responsibilities" sad situation indeed! CSS should step in...I'm disgusted with this couple
This is exactly why I wasn't surprised the eldest didn't like hugs or cuddles, it wasn't that she didn't like or care for them it's that she never received them. I'm curious how she survived honestly. She said they told her at 3 about the blindness and her needing to help but I'm betting she was helping and probably doing most things for herself before then and that's absolutely heartbreaking to me. She has never had a chance to even be a kid.
You are so right I am so stressed out about it it's like a bad train wreck I don't want to watch this but I cannot stop watching it because if I had anything that I could do with my power I would do it if I can pull up to the house right now I would do it if I wasn't all the way in Kentucky
Honestly though, one of the parts that stood out to me most was when the little girl (Jenny) was changing her brother's diaper. She's just a little girl so obviously I don't blame her but he's not wiped properly and that can lead to infections and so many problems downstairs. I feel so sorry for Jenny, she's in so much pain it's so heartbreaking to watch her talk about suicide at such a young age.
The saddest part about this documentary is that these parents think that they've "proved" that they can be parents, when in reality, their children have proven that they don't need their parents for necessities.
Jae Lynn well it's intresting but in my opinion it was really likeable that she would have been turned out a psychopath or sociopath or other similar disorders... older siblings usually have it harder, with parents like that I don't even imagine how horrible her mental enviroment was growing up. Jenny seemed fine at that time but she really needed to get away from that situation.
For anyone looking for an update: Child services received over 30 calls the evening that this show originally aired on TV in the UK and the family was investigated, but I cannot find any follow up on that and what came of it. The parents were also harassed after the show aired and their home was vandalized multiple times. They refused to take any responsibility and say that the documentary portrayed them unfairly (go figure 🙄). Louise is active on social media and seems to be doing relatively well. She has several dogs that she dottes on, as well as several cats. Seems to spend a lot of time in nature with the doggos. I imagine that the animals fill a void of love and affection that she didn't receive from her parents and family :/ that's just my speculation though. There are also some sad posts about wanting to be dead, feeling alone and unloved :( they're few and far between but it's heartbreaking because you know her upbringing was rough and emotionally neglectful :( I hope she finds happiness. Jenny is less active on social media but she is employed, seems happy, and has a small daughter who looks happy, healthy and clean. All of her and Louise's photos are either in a clean and well kept house or outside. Don't know who's house but I'm glad they're out of the dirty and run down house from this documentary.
The mum certainly also has an intellectual disability. This seems like a very sad case of 2 grown adults wanting a family but being unable to actually care for them.
I am not one bit impressed with these “parents!” When I saw the mother smoking a cigarette after just announcing she was pregnant with baby #7, that showed how much she truly cared about her children. Social services needs to step in & intervene on behalf of these kids!!!
It was filmed almost 20 years ago now, bitten thee girls escaped at 18 jeennnyy is marries with kids and Louise has a girlfriend and has horses and dogs
.. Yes, can't change nappies, and yet can make coffee for them two and have a "break" like 2 lovers on their peak of honeymoon! Disgusting! That wife Amanda is just getting into my nerve! And the husband was trying to stand still like a macho hero of the family, while his youngest baby was crawling underneath a garbage bin!
Jenny literally tried to kill herself and they asked the parents what they thought of that and all they had to say is “i DoNt KnOW whY sHE’d dO tHat” makes me wanna cry I just hope they all are ok now.
Can we say these parents have a sociopath with the oldest sister, she said with a smile when she chocked out her sister. She thought it was funny that the girl next door hung herself... scary
@@butterflywhispersparanormal it's horible that their reson for wanting more kids is to help themselves in the future, and their stubborn pride in not accepting help has gone to the point of harming the child. Notice how the mother only asked if her son was OK when the interviewer asked her if she wanted to check on him.
Makena Walker the stress of having all this responsibility to take care of the house, caused her to do this. Wake up parents. They should have talked to her about it and helped her .
Butterfly Whispers Paranormal I know that laughing/smiling is a way of trying to deal with it or not knowing what to say, I also think she’s been conditioned to think that’s it’s not a big of a deal
@@mh56487 I feel the mother has other things wrong. I dont think mentally she gets it and that's why her mo. Said no kids. I think her husband is causing his kids and wife harm.
the blind parents are such a 'behind closed doors' family - so proud of appearing independent and yet they don't care past that. i honestly don't think it occurs to them that 'raising' kids means more than making sure their basic needs are met through some method or another. i genuinely think they believe they're good parents
The elder girl appears to have Reactive Attachment Disorder. Does not have normal positive emotions, but a lot of hostility w zero remorse. This child needs help ASAP. As do.the others. Amanda does not appear to have the self efficacy or motivation to do any sort of parenting at all, possibly part of her cognitive disabilities. Very sad. Hope this family got intervention! Those poor kids deserve a lot better
So, the dad can apparently see well enough to read with a magnifyer, and navigate a scooter through city streets and walk around the city...but cannot take care of the kids? I call lazy parent status here!
From what I could see both the parents have issues, BUT they are playing on them. They are not anywhere near as bad as what they are saying. watch the program again and focus on what the parents are doing - eg stepping so close to a child in the stairwell that their foot actually brushes the child's clothing - My sight is pretty good and I wouldn't consider doing a move like that.
Sonya Blade you can have kids when you are blind but it's harder to care for them. I know a couple of people that have a fully blind parent and a mostly blind parent in them and are usually calm.
I’m somebody with a visual impairment and a teacher of mine is totally blind and had a family, they can take care of the children just fine! Being blind is no excuse for being horrible parents!
Out of all the kids I feel the worst for the 9 year old. She seems to be the one who’s not only doing things for the kids but also showing them some sort of affection when she gets none in return from her older sister and her parents. And on top of that she’s hit by her sister but she’s so sweet to her younger siblings unlike the eldest.
The eldest has been taking care of kids since she was 3, and you’re criticising how she acts as if it’s not a result of being of never being treated like a child.
As the eldest, i am also distant from my family. My parents are busy and so my siblings need me, and usually come to me for affection. And i get it, i really do, but sometimes it gets exhausting especially when you never really got affection yourself.
Soni Rai then she needs to stop having babies. The “dad” said they are proving critics wrong. Except him and his wife are only making the kid. Not taking care of them.
I also feel awful for the 2nd story, Patrick. He's got a lot to deal with & he's eclipsed by the people in the 1st bit. While it's not that extent of having 6 brothers & sisters, he is still a child carer & has missed out on a lot & seen things he shouldn't have. Like his mother ODing.
That is not being independent when you make your kids do everything! Seriously did anyone see the dirty floor & throwing pieces of bread to the baby on it? I feel bad for them, but they need to stop having babies. Not fair to anyone! Those poor lil kids just stay home & are probably bored to death. Also having lots of kids when you can’t work or take care of them & depending on benefits is just not right & having them so they can take care of you later? Poor Jenny being abused!😡😡😡
Btw I have a friend who is totally blind, is 66 yrs old & works full time for Apple with his guide dog. I know that every person is different, but something should be done in this situation. Not a good environment for the kids.
"are you gonna check in his lip?" "N-... yes. I'll have to go. and check. on his lip." you can tell that was an entirely new concept for her, she only did that because she was being filmed.
"We wanted to have a large family so they can help us when we are older" has to be one of the most selfish statements a parent can make. Those children especially the two older girls don't own their parents anything. I hope the girls are doing better
I wonder if Jenny’s suicide attempt was motivated by her unreasonable load of responsibilities, her lack of positive attention from her parents and older sister, and I wonder if she noticed how much loving attention her brother Shane receives from the grave and thought that she might be remembered in respect and love more dead than alive. The whole family seems numb to true emotions. Poor Jenny. Poor children.
I know!! I was thinking the same thing about the the miscarriage. She was only 12 weeks a long and they made a grave. I was 15 weeks pregnant before I even knew I was pregnant.
It was sad how the older sister smiled at the thought of her sister attempting suicide and when the interviewer as if she was concerned, she said no. Also she abuses Jenny. She and dad say Jenny provokes it....lies. When Jenny was making sandwiches for the boys, Older sister kept coming in and hitting her for no reason.
I agree. Jenny may be the only one who feels emotion. They all seem just to be existing, no real purpose in life - just have more children, more people who will care for them. They don't seem to care a lot about their children, though they are happy when they do well in school and such. Their existence is so surreal to me. Like a pauper's life - the life of a serf.
She can't see anything yet she saw the baby on the floor and stepped over him? They are both blind but yet keep finding each other well enough to keep getting pregnant.
Dee Bell I was so outraged when I saw that. let's not forget they can also find cigarettes and lighters with no problem but can't take care of their kids
they are not fair to the kids taking care of the little ones very unhealthy conditions. and they should let social services in because the girls dont have a life of thier own to enjoy.
you guys do know some blind people can see bright colored things, but i do agree they should take better care of there kids in more ways instead of making only the older girls do all the work 😐
Those parents should be in jail for neglect, using their children as slave labor . Nobody gets so much as a kiss or a hug how horrible is this family, those poor children. My heart was breaking from this entire show.
Right and they are dirty from eating off the floor. No plates to save on water but smokes and drinks beer? Such a shame. The kids need a better living conditions for sure.. soooo sad
I agree at least these people should be prosecuted. Those children need a life as children it is insane that the system does nothing to protect these poor kids
" YOUNG CARERS" should be abolished!! Who in their right mind thinks it's OK for a child to have 100% responsability for their parents (and/or siblings)??? NO CHILD should have to go through that. "Because they will not acceot help from Social Services" ????!!! To allow this to happen is child abuse from the government... So sad!
There should be some kind of control around it, so that the children don't get more responsibility than they can handle and still be great kids. But I'd say a child should be alowed to help take care of their parents (to a limit) just like anyone else. This one was far beyond that limit when parents did nothing, even if you are blind you can do stuff if you just set your mind to it...
Randi _Norway my older sister raised us four kids growing up , she was a mother by 6 .. My mom would leave us alone for weeks at a time by ourselves but we can stuff from the microwave to this day she is such a closed off person with no friends and she doesn’t know how to make them she’s a sad sad person because of it
I want to know if something happened after this documentary...that kids need someone ...they have to go to a real family where they can be children...and have a clean home .
My mom went blind when I was 10, she was able to care for us even though she couldn’t see. She was totally blind. I realize everyone is different, but goodness.
The little boy is screaming while having his diaper changed because his bottom is so gaulded from sitting in his own mess all day until his sister came home from school to change him. This breaks my heart.
The whole is a mess, the girls seem so unhappy ,its a grim place for the kids to grow in and something horrible can happen in these circumstances soon .
How often the blind parents said "we haven't thought about that really" is crazy to me 😮😠 The mom might be on the Autism Spectrum as well... the oldest daughter too, maybe... or she's just heavily traumatized and depressed.
At 8:10 Interviewer says to the mother, "what do you like about having lots of children around?" The mother replies, "So they can help us when we get older." The father replies, "The more children we have, the more they than can help us out, so it's not a burden on just one child." Oh thank goodness, I thought they were going to say they have lots of children because they love them, and want to make sure their kids have a happy childhood, and that when they grow up, they too will have a loving family and lifelong happiness as well. People disgust me. SMH
Yeah, if I could have punch the mom I would have at that very moment. These kids, have basically raised their siblings and themselves and now you want them to take care of you?!? Completely selfish!!
Denis D I wanted to come thru THE screen and slit their thoughts when they said that. How DARE someone..much less 2 someones?! They r psychotic, abusive, torturers. Someone get over there and do the same to them. Like NOW.
The “mother” wasn’t even going to check on the child’s lip until the reporter asked her if she was going to! All the mother does is sit and play with her hair.
That mother, lord have mercy, I curse just watching her, she sit there in a different world, unconcern with her kids, not even getting up to place the pacifier in the child's mouth on the couch.
Young Carers Association?!? That fact that they’ve had to create support groups for CHILDREN looking after their siblings speaks volumes. How is that okay?!?
I feel so bad for these kids. He said he wants to prove that they can raise kids, but they're not raising the kids, the kids are raising them. Poor baby just sleeping on the floor because he is exhausted from crying all day. Wtf, these people need help.
That situation needed major intervention. The parents have more issues than vision impairment. This is neglect and not acceptable. They need assistance.
Lazy selfish creatures. These "parents" are too blind to change boys' nappies but not this blind to light up the cigarettes, open and pour the beer or make coffee for themselves 😮 Giving birth to children to use them as servants is unacceptable! Feel sorry for all 6 kids 😢 Hope they safely grew up and had recovered from their traumatic childhood 🫶
The babies hands holding the bottle even just before that you see him on the floor from afar and can see the dirt! And I thought the same with the bread. They’d have child services involved with them in a heartbeat in Wa State USA! And fibromyalgia is no excuse I have a list of ailments that’s just one, next is bulging discs with nerve impingement, 3 of 5 in my tailbone region, etc. your selfish to overdose!
Amy Kinville omg I just noticed that! This is just not right. These two oldest just don’t have a childhood. The oldest is so angry and the second oldest girl I feel is just lost. These poor babies don’t deserve this.
PeachKeki This is one of the saddest videos I have ever watched as well because it portrays blind people as helpless, incapable and stupid. I am totally blind and partially deaf, and I go to work every day. As a matter of fact, I work two jobs. I’m also in school full-time. I take classes online. I can’t believe how stupid these people are. They make the rest of the blind community looks so bad. And the sad thing is, they’re going to be a lot of people who watch this documentary and really believe we are helpless and stupid because of these so-called parents
There needs to be a follow-up!!! 🙏🏻 I just want to hug the little girl, never let her go, take her in with me, and just let her be a child!! I'd love to be a person she could talk to whenever she wants about whatever she wants ❤❤
So they can take care of the parents when parents get old so says the mom. Selfish and irresponsible. Hope all these kids got some sort of help from social services. Parents are lazy baby making machines.
Wish I can adopt Jenny, for her to be a child. I couldn't stop cry everytime Jenny started expressing herself. Big sis is taking her stress out on Jenny
Doesn't help that the father says he was abused as a child, and says he doesn't want that for his children. But he goes and let's Louise throw stuff at Jenny, and even let her hit Daniel in the head. It's so sad to see this.

@@baileymikayla8676 And the most disheartening thing is the fact that both parents don't see anything wrong with this! In their eyes, all is well. Newborn babies passing out on the floor, 10 year old being the head of the household. Honestly, these kids deserve better.
All of these commenters who are talking about the older daughter being "evil" are ridiculous. She's struggling and depressed. Her friend and neighbor who she referred to as "kind" committed suicide and she admits to not having friends in the neighborhood. She is the oldest, and has to be the most responsible. There is no one to give her the protection, affection or childhood that she deserves. She may feel resentful or scared of her younger sisters ability to be innocent and loving, but that doesn't make her "evil" or a "sociopath". Please show each other, and most especially our children the compassion that they need.
I found her FB and it seems like she’s doing very well! She has a partner and looks so much happier now. 💗 same with Jenny and Jenny has a little one of her own now too.
I know this is old, but my goodness, I hope someone stepped in for those girls. The mother obviously has more than just sight problems. She seems very delayed in many ways, this was so heart breaking and disgusting. No child should live this way and it seems like social services failed this family.
Do these kids ever get a bath? They look so nasty! I wonder if the mom and dad are exaggerating how blind they really are just to get out of having to take care of all these kids they keep popping out. She says she can't see, yet she can light a cig just fine. The other kids don't get to be kids. The place is filthy! This whole thing is uncalled for and inhumane.
Heinous. Damn near criminal, I'd dare say. Why keep having children to force them in to this child labor, in hideous, dirty, nasty, cigarette smoke filled conditions? Disgustingly selfish. 6 children, 1 on the way and they can't even take care of themselves, let alone the children they already have!! Ugh. This sickens me, and I hope there is a brighter future for these children. I am beyond sad for the sad state of affairs they live with.
Yeah and plus they have denied any sort of help offered to them. Also I still don’t see how they can’t just wipe some blood off the children or even just hug and love them...
Very sad. I hope these neglected children were taken out of the home. Oldest daughter has all the makings of a sociopath...or perhaps Reactive Attachment Disorder. Mother is cognitively challenged; Does not parent in any way. Father tries his best. Second daughter...very sad for her loneliness and her pain..
The way the eldest talks about her younger sister's suicide attempt is troubling me a lot. She seems to be severely disturbed and emotionally neglected. It seems only natural that she takes out her frustration and anger on her younger siblings with all that responsibility. She was the first one. She had no one to care for her the way she cares for her siblings.
Paul: Jenny was at risk of losing her place as a "young carer" if she didn't help out. The whole reason Jenny stopped helping and even attempted SUICIDE was because she was sick to death of being a young carer. At 8 years old she didn't care about the 2 hours a week of play, she needed to be allowed to be a kid every day. I can't believe her father was confused about that. Or maybe he intentionally overlooked it so he wouldn't have to face the reality that he was abusing and neglecting his girls.
I feel absolutely horrible agreeing with you about this. My heart breaks for Jenny. Her older sister has become so numb she doesn't care about the possibility of losing Jenny. They both need a break from their family and bonding activities with each other that are fun.

I know I found that strange. they definitely sound lazy at. he can read up close. sounds like he just needs some glasses. and the part about the little ones diapers get changed soon as the girls get home from school? so if one craps do they just sit in it all day
Ta my I agree with you.. These parents are very detached from the toddlers and babies. They can't be bothered to lift a finger, not while they can use their 2 daughters as slaves. They didn't seem one bit concerned their 9 year old daughter, tried to commit suicide.. They were standoffish about it.. That poor girl does love her parents very much. If you can see enough to light a cigarette and pour your alcohol into a glass, you can see enough to change your children's diapers. This is absolutely disgusting.
exactly. I wouldn't let a dog live in those conditions. clean up the mess. How can their welfare department allow this to be happing? You can afford beer and buts you can afford someone other than your own children to help with the house work.
I saw that also and I saw the filth on the floor could be a chocking hazard. Couldn't those parents show some love to the older ones? They could use it. It's so frustrating that nothing is being done to educate the parents. And STOP having babies.
Ahh thats really amazing to read!
I think the mom has some big learning disabilities that impair her more than her blindness

When you've lived in a household like that, it's bound to have affects on you. I don't doubt that they love the kids, they are just not well equipped to care properly for them and that has nothing to do with the blindness.
I feel so bad for the girls. The answer 'I like having lots of kids around because they can look after us when we're older' ... really just made my stomach drop.

She has never had a chance to even be a kid.
The poor babies are so dirty, this is a shame, they all should be removed from there care, blindness doesn't equal laziness, these ppl are just lazy
YES 100%!!
You are so right I am so stressed out about it it's like a bad train wreck I don't want to watch this but I cannot stop watching it because if I had anything that I could do with my power I would do it if I can pull up to the house right now I would do it if I wasn't all the way in Kentucky
This may be the most repulsive video I have ever seen!! These people should never have had children EVER!!!!! I'm so infuriated watching this.
Yup exactly!
The saddest part about this documentary is that these parents think that they've "proved" that they can be parents, when in reality, their children have proven that they don't need their parents for necessities.
The scariest part is that Louise sounds like a psychopath. She smiled at Jenny trying to kill herself.
For anyone looking for an update:
Child services received over 30 calls the evening that this show originally aired on TV in the UK and the family was investigated, but I cannot find any follow up on that and what came of it.
Where on social media?

Em D like what? They’re worse than what we saw? Because they don’t even deserve to have kids! What horrible and selfish people!
I'm glad to hear the 2 girls ended up ok! But not a surprise they felt unloved and neglected
The mum certainly also has an intellectual disability. This seems like a very sad case of 2 grown adults wanting a family but being unable to actually care for them.
I am not one bit impressed with these “parents!”
When I saw the mother smoking a cigarette after just announcing she was pregnant with baby #7, that showed how much she truly cared about her children. Social services needs to step in & intervene on behalf of these kids!!!

Makena Walker the stress of having all this responsibility to take care of the house, caused her to do this. Wake up parents. They should have talked to her about it and helped her .

Me 2 I know blind people who work take care of there kids and clean house these people are just taking advantage of people's sympathy
They changed the diaper on the floor with nothing underneath the child which is very unsanitary.
the blind parents are such a 'behind closed doors' family - so proud of appearing independent and yet they don't care past that. i honestly don't think it occurs to them that 'raising' kids means more than making sure their basic needs are met through some method or another. i genuinely think they believe they're good parents
Yea don’t be rude candace
I agree!!! I believe that they probably can’t see that well BUT I think they are more LAZY than Blind!!!!
They shouldn't have kids at all
Sonya Blade you can have kids when you are blind but it's harder to care for them. I know a couple of people that have a fully blind parent and a mostly blind parent in them and are usually calm.
“When we get older they can help us out”
They deadass do everything already wtf you mean😳
I hope they abandon their parents when they are older, they don't deserve anything else
And "we ask them to help out so we get a break" okay, 1. You don't do anything, 2. When do your kids get a break? Oh yeah! They don't!😞
they deadass?
Crazy asf
😂😂😂.not funny. But funny
I’m somebody with a visual impairment and a teacher of mine is totally blind and had a family, they can take care of the children just fine! Being blind is no excuse for being horrible parents!
I agree I’ve seeen people with disabilities have a lot of kids and take care of their children better than this
That’s cool
Second hand smoke is unhealthy for children and pregnancy.
The mother is obviously not only blind, she is mentally disabled as well. Both of these parents are abusive and neglectful. Very sad.
Sorry the critics r right the baby sleeping on floor like dog
This fell on me like a tonne of bricks, I hope this kids found the help and safety they so badly needed
Mariam Abdullah there's something wrong with the eldest
The eldest has been taking care of kids since she was 3, and you’re criticising how she acts as if it’s not a result of being of never being treated like a child.
As the eldest, i am also distant from my family. My parents are busy and so my siblings need me, and usually come to me for affection. And i get it, i really do, but sometimes it gets exhausting especially when you never really got affection yourself.
Maria B DAMN MARIA...... I AGREE!
Plus, she tried to kill herself. It's too much!
We just gonna ignore the fact that the baby was being thrown bread like a duck and was eating it off the floor.
The filthy floor at that
Poor child
Or how he was sleeping on the floor
PunnyMegan Yes, like feeding time at the zoo!!!!! Absolutely disgusting.
I was about to say THE same thing. SMFH.
There’s a difference between blind and lazy.
Im completely agree
The mother has other disabilities
Soni Rai then she needs to stop having babies. The “dad” said they are proving critics wrong. Except him and his wife are only making the kid. Not taking care of them.
Exactly!!
100% agree. Why have kids if you cant take care of them 😥
The fact that the little ones are kept in dirty nappies for four hours that while the kids are at school is shocking
Made my stomach churn.
Can we just have a moment to appreciate Jenny and how loving and caring she is
Yes, the sweetest little girl. She needs a family to take her in and show her love.
Jenny has my ❤️ what a deep soul. Tonight I will say a prayer for her.
You know that mother wouldn’t of checked on Matt’s lip if the interviewer didn’t bring it up
"are you gonna check in his lip?"
"N-... yes. I'll have to go. and check. on his lip."
you can tell that was an entirely new concept for her, she only did that because she was being filmed.
Why do you want a big family they ask her “For more kids to take care of us when we get older”. THAT said it all to me!!
I just want to hug and cuddle those kids. Mom and dad are so distant with kids and it’s ruining those children.
"We wanted to have a large family so they can help us when we are older" has to be one of the most selfish statements a parent can make. Those children especially the two older girls don't own their parents anything. I hope the girls are doing better
Amanda: if we are busy with other things, we ask them (the girls) to help us and give us a break
Me: a break from WHAT???
They're in denial like crazy
Right
All the banging they're doing lol
Can(t you guess it? My god... What a couple... 😠
The "other things" is making more kids. 🤷🏾♀️
Jenny can come live with me.
I don’t understand why they keep producing more kids when they can not provide for the ones they have. This is child abuse.
Neglect

Those parents should be in jail for neglect, using their children as slave labor . Nobody gets so much as a kiss or a hug how horrible is this family, those poor children. My heart was breaking from this entire show.
Right and they are dirty from eating off the floor. No plates to save on water but smokes and drinks beer? Such a shame. The kids need a better living conditions for sure.. soooo sad
I agree at least these people should be prosecuted. Those children need a life as children it is insane that the system does nothing to protect these poor kids
""""""It give us a break""""
" YOUNG CARERS" should be abolished!! Who in their right mind thinks it's OK for a child to have 100% responsability for their parents (and/or siblings)??? NO CHILD should have to go through that. "Because they will not acceot help from Social Services" ????!!! To allow this to happen is child abuse from the government... So sad!
yes, this is child work and that is illegal!
Yes! How is this happening?! These poor children are suffering 😞

The mom might be on the Autism Spectrum as well... the oldest daughter too, maybe... or she's just heavily traumatized and depressed.
At 8:10 Interviewer says to the mother, "what do you like about having lots of children around?" The mother replies, "So they can help us when we get older." The father replies, "The more children we have, the more they than can help us out, so it's not a burden on just one child." Oldest daughter is soooo angry.
Her miscarriages are a blessing in their case...... They don't need no more kids to neglect
I feel absolutely horrible agreeing with you about this. My heart breaks for Jenny. Her older sister has become so numb she doesn't care about the possibility of losing Jenny. They both need a break from their family and bonding activities with each other that are fun.
@@emmabeer5690 under normal circumstances my heart goes out to any woman who miscarries a baby but in this case I think it would be a horrible idea for them to procreate once more for them to make another child suffer
I wonder how she didn't notice that she had a miscarriage a month or two beforehand? Would she not have had more than 1 period in that time?
@@jodypascoe5812 no, as it took me 9 months for my first period after my second last daughter. my last daughter was born just 8 weeks ago and i havent had my period yet, but bleed for 5 weeks after her birth
It’s sad but true...
I'm having an issue because both parents seem to be able to see when they want to. Is it just me? For instance changing diapers, doesn't take much eyesight for that. Seem very detached from the kids very little affection given. And not being able to plunge the toilet himself SMDH they seem a bit lazy to me.
I know I found that strange. they definitely sound lazy at. he can read up close. sounds like he just needs some glasses. and the part about the little ones diapers get changed soon as the girls get home from school? so if one craps do they just sit in it all day
he poured that beer in that cup just fine
Ta my I agree with you.. These parents are very detached from the toddlers and babies. They can't be bothered to lift a finger, not while they can use their 2 daughters as slaves. They didn't seem one bit concerned their 9 year old daughter, tried to commit suicide.. They were standoffish about it.. That poor girl does love her parents very much. She is hurting deep inside though.. I pray they are no longer living with their parents. Those girls deserve so much more.. When the young toddler hurt himself, he didn't run to a parent. There is no attachment there, non what so ever!!
@@laurenmac yeah I found that nasty. You know if those boys do use the diapers as their toilet and they wait all day how on earth have they not gotten really bad rashes by now? Unsanitary that is. Plus how are they getting potty trained? How did the girls get potty trained? Somethings wrong in this story and they ain't even telling the whole truth.
@KAE SQUAD Yeah i couldn't believe that either how the parents are smoking around the children. I wonder if the children have ever picked up a cigarette themselves. If not now they will later for sure.
6:07 *He's blind but he did see the child laying on the floor and didn't step on him...but he did not pick him up.. I am really heartbroken for their children*
Abhinandita Ghosh yep, they are using their blindness as an excuse not to parent their kids.
@@afrabright4929 I was thinking the same exact thing!
Right I knew I wasn’t tripping
Afra Bright the mom blind fr fr but the dad is not I think that he’s lying
And when Louisa was swinging the baby around in the yard and hit the other kid in the face with the kids feet, her dad saw it happen and groaned
I wonder how are these kids now? This is not only child abuse by their parents, but also by the goverment, this is ultrageus! I hope they are okay, the sadness these two older CHILDREN show is heartbreaking :(
If you can see enough to light a cigarette and pour your alcohol into a glass, you can see enough to change your children's diapers.
This is absolutely disgusting.
Lauren Kate what makes you think they're drinking alcohol? I didn't see it.
exactly. I wouldn't let a dog live in those conditions. clean up the mess. How can their welfare department allow this to be happing? You can afford beer and buts you can afford someone other than your own children to help with the house work.
Towards the end of shoes the dad drinking a beer... And prior to that one of the young kids had a beer can in their mouth.
I saw that also and I saw the filth on the floor could be a chocking hazard. Couldn't those parents show some love to the older ones? They could use it. It's so frustrating that nothing is being done to educate the parents. And STOP having babies.
Lauren Kate you don’t need sight for pouring.
