If you take the orange flesh out and just leave the orange peel, this entire pot is a good ant repellent. Especially mixed with some vinegar after bottling. To be honest, this would probably make for a tasty tea!
Interesting question. They are two different plants entirely with origins in different parts of the world. Anise seed is used to ward off evil eye, find happiness and stimulate psychic ability. So if that works for you, then absolutely.

What exactly I have to do with it
I simmer it all day and then let it cool. Once it’s cooled down I’ll pour it around the outside of the house concentrating close to doors and windows.
