This is exactly the kind of cycling content I look for on UA-cam, great work. I couldn’t care less about the pro peloton, give me a film about a guy out riding with his buddies any day of the week.
Great video. I’m a big fan, I love this channel. I ride several disciplines, I’m 55. Started as a mountain biker in the 1990’s . Now it’s mainly gravel and road miles in South Texas. I also just got about $200 worth of Untapped. Looking forward to fueling. Thank you for the inspiration, Ted. Ride on !
Great side guys, looked like fun and a nice day to ride too. Thanks for giving us the details about your bike. Man the bike is super fast too no matter what tires you put on it.
Maui is my favorite place in the world and have a dream of taking my bike there one day. Definitely a bucketlist ride, but I'd probably have to do those in two different sections.
Aloha! Thanks for the great video. I am lucky to call Maui home for the last 20 years and have biked all over the island. I have never filmed any of it. It's always interesting to me what footage makes it on to the videos. I know how hard those climbs are. Great job!
Hey Ted, great vid. I am going next week. I usually do the northern loop and play around on haleakala but will no definitely consider the southern loop. I will run my Crux 1x 11-42rear, 42front on scwalbe g-one rs 35mm. Ill top out on the flats but goodness those hills can get steep. thanks for the inspiration!
Loving this video! I just rode the West Maui loop and want to do the road to Hana when I come back in the summer for the Haleakala event. What kind of bar and saddle bags are y'all using?
Thanks for the great video Ted. A tire question: If my bike has room for the Snoqualmies, any reason to not use them over the Barlow Pass or Bon Jon Pass for generally not super chunky mixed surface rides?
My friends, Don & Pam, managed resorts one being switcher mt ski resort in Idaho. Then they move to Maui on Hawaii to manage a 200+ acres off the gravel road your talking about. Resort has grass roofs an rolling hills of grass, quite beautiful. Do you know of the resort they managed?

Ha, apparently I'm doing something right! Thanks for watching.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching Sam’s Grand Slam Maui Owie Get Fit Quick Trip Extravaganza! If he aint in shape after this one ... well ...

And, I gotta say, you really stepped up the production value of this video! Chapeau.
That means a lot. Thank you! No shortage of hard work.
Amazing video, never thought about a gravel bike for that ride! The east loop is on my bucket list, one day I’ll get that ride done! Thank you!
Been waiting for this one, what an epic day in the saddle!
Thanks for staying tuned.

Wow so epic! I did the northwest loop before but around the whole island is astounding!
Big big January miles, jet boil handlebar bag…🤔 Got some adventuring planned this year?
The Sam Train =‘s the Pain Train. 2 absolute savages on another Epic 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Excellent video ! Nice speedshot @ 2:54
Sweet ride! Savannah looks 😎
Amazing, Ted! This ride is definitely on my to-do list... maybe not all at once like you did though! ;)
Great footage - enjoyed watching!

Next video: gravel ride to Hawaii. Just an idea.
12K feet of climbing, wowzers
No way!
I rode over 196;ml around Maui, 7 years ago.And I rode on my road bike with my family assistance and support.

Honestly no. I find them as fast as anything. So it’s not like it’s a disadvantage over more narrow tires. I love the 44s!
Crazy loop! Why no banana bread in Hana…? Should be mandatory :)
Rest assured, lots of banana bread consumed on this trip!
@@TedKing1 amazing videos! Cheers from LtD country :)
100%
Hey Ted. What bar and stem are you running on the bike. TIA
Zipp Speed SL stem and XPLR bar. 👌
Why to Ride a Gravel Bike in Hawaii? Bcs you don't have a new road-bike with 33 tires with you 😅
Only 8 mins?
It's true Ted, these could be a lot longer and we would be just as happy, and happier!!!

What is the cap brand you are wearing at the end of the video?
Ha, that's Maine Beer Company.
You can put a 44mm tire on a super six? Sam interested because I have a 2020 team edition super six.
SuperSix EVO SE. SE implies the gravel bike. If so, yes. If road bike, no.
🤙💪👍☀️😎🤪
