I think it's really important for kids to have adults in their lives that aren't parents, they usually have more energy and time to sit down, listen, and interact with them in a way that overwhelmed and chronically tired parents don't always have.

I have lived my life in the suburbs of California. I remember vividly the times my family drove to visit family in rural Minnesota and stayed with my aunt and uncle and their kids on their dairy farm. I still remember the smell of cow dung, mowed grass and pigs to this day. The community in these small rural areas is so life enforcing and welcoming. Of course this was in the 1960s.

People who insist you should have kids do not understand that you're part of THOSE kids' extended family and play a vital role in THEIR development. Being a farmer, you also provide society with food and as a youtuber, you can provide people online with entertainment and inspiration to get into farming. Not everyone absolutely needs to have kids, especially people who don't want them.

      YEP.
There are so many ways that Morgan and his wife can tune into their God-furnished situation without being biologically literal kid breeders.
Now, I'd never go to Morgan and Alison and say "HEY, GOD FORBIDS YOU TO DIRECTLY BREED KIDS." Besides getting a likely punch in the nose, that's a question of where they've been placed and led to. It often had been a thing for farmers to have a lot of kids because medical care wasn't so good then, farms were more obscure then, and they wanted someone to have the farm for posterity. And this worked nicely. But that's not the only way to keep a line of inherited skill and wisdom going.
I think we have some humanitarian (God-conscience, really) things to work out across the whole globe. We could do worse with respect to archetypes than Gold Shaw, the "atheist" farm that sees God nearer than almost every explicitly "Christian" farm.

Being uncle is a very special place in a family, so you do your "kids" your way! In many Native American traditional families, the uncle (brother to the mother) is more important than the father. The fathers kind of came and went (maybe regular and monogamous), but the uncle was the one that was home teaching them.

A good balance of protection and letting them be involved occasionally because they’re at the age where they probably think making videos and the farm is the coolest thing ever so can keep them happy. Honestly I wish people would do more to make it harder to identify the kids when they’re included in this sort of thing.

Your nephew sounds a lot like you as he talks. He seems to love animals. Your nephews are so blessed to have a farm experience. I grew up on a small farm and wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

I respect that trust exercise hahaha. I know if I was that age, being told I could drive would be the coolest thing on the planet.

While watching your video, I couldn't help but notice you've got a Twist Butler along with your Premier 1 fencing. The Twist Butler is amazing! It saves a lot of time winding & unwinding without tangles, and makes carrying & storage much easier. I invested one along with poultry netting for my poultry pasture setup this year, the Twist Butler saves me 2 hours from working with the fence manually. As soon as I get the budget, I'm going to invest in another Twist Butler with poultry netting for my upgraded pasture project next year. It's definitely worth the time & investment!

Being IN a childs live and being A childs life is so vastly different. Just cause your good with kids doesnt mean you want them. Or have time and space for them. I wish people respected others choice to not have kids.

I have one grandchild who amazes me, not yet 2 years old. She teaches me wonder and imagination. Deeply appreciate your connection to your nephews in this video. Sweet love. Also may I say as a professional musician I've always enjoyed your choices of music! Especially your use of Bach's works.

SUGGESTION...nephew needs to write a book from his point of view of hanging out at ur farm and you can help him and publish it under the Gold Farm series. Hes definitely has ur taste for talk and camera.
If you can give him ownership of something when he comes to the farm, he'll learn how to use his hands and mind and wont know it until years later when he looks back and realizes the gift u gave him. Fun vid
