FMF 2016| Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark Live in Concert

Z okazji 35-lecia premiery pierwszej części serii filmów fabularnych o słynnym archeologu premierowo w Krakowie zaprezentujemy film z kultową nominowaną do Oskara ścieżką dźwiękową Johna Williamsa. Tego kompozytora nie trzeba chyba nikomu przedstawiać - jest jednym z najznakomitszych w historii muzyki filmowej. Znany jest w szczególności ze ścieżek dźwiękowych do filmów science-fiction. To oskarowy faworyt: w latach 1968-2001 uzyskał blisko 50 nominacji (w ostatnich latach był nominowany praktycznie co roku) oraz zdobył 5 statuetek, za "Skrzypka na dachu" (1971) Normana Jewisona, "Szczęki" (1975) Stevena Spielberga, "Gwiezdne wojny" (1977) Georga Lucasa oraz "E.T." (1982) i "Listę Schindlera" (1993) Spielberga. Ma na swoim koncie oczywiście także niezliczoną ilość innych nagród, w tym 9 Grammy. Każdy zna zapewne również marsz otwierający ścieżkę dźwiękową z filmu Poszukiwacze Zaginionej Arki. To drugi - po Gwiezdnych Wojnach - z najbardziej znanych motywów stworzonych przez Williamsa. Równie znane są tajemnicze motywy In The Idol's Temple, egzotyczne Journey To Nepal, czy orientalizujące The Basket Game - to ciekawa mieszanka przyjemnej melodii i oryginalnej muzyki Bliskiego Wschodu. Koncert wykona Sinfonietta Cracovia pod batutą cenionego dyrygenta i aranżera - Ludwiga Wickiego.
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the first part of the film series about the famous archaeologist, we will present the premiere showing of the film with the Oscar-nominated soundtrack by John Williams. This composer probably needs no introduction - he is one of the finest in the history of film music. He is particularly known for his soundtracks to science fiction films. He is an Oscar favourite: between 1968 and 2001, he was nominated nearly 50 times (in recent years, practically every year) and won five times: for Norman Jewison’s Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975), George Lucas’ Star Wars (1977), Spielberg’s E.T. (1982) and Schindler’s List (1993). He has also won countless other awards, including 9 Grammys. Everyone probably knows the opening march of the Raiders of the Lost Ark soundtrack. This is the second - after Star Wars - of the most recognisable motifs created by Williams. Equally memorable are the mysterious motifs of “In the Idol’s Temple”, the exotic “Journey to Nepal” and the Oriental “The Basket Game” - an interesting mix of a pleasant memory and original music from the Middle East. The concert will be performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia, conducted by acclaimed conductor and arranger, Ludwig Wicki.
