The fact that they are saying you won't have to pay a subscription fee means there are subscription fees coming down the road. I've been saying it for years now. That's the direction Windows is headed.
I think Microsoft paid for this commercial. Win 12 looks like 80% what Microsoft wants and 20% what the customer wants, even enterprise level customers. Linux Mint is a nice operating system, very familiar interface, easy to use and will run on just about any hardware.

But I guess that is too much for you mate to understand. If you like windows 11 great for you. If you like the spamware that is windows 11 good for you. I don't.
@@darthhydralisk ok want me to be intelligent even if I was? Alright. Critics of bloatware might be wrong for a few reasons: 1. Convenience for Users: Some pre-installed applications can provide convenience, as they offer tools and features that users might need right out of the box. For example, productivity apps or security software can save time and effort in searching for alternatives. 2. Diverse User Needs: Not every user has the same preferences or needs. What may be considered bloatware by one user might be essential for another. Pre-installed apps cater to a broad audience, helping various users without needing extensive customization. 3. Support and Updates: Some built-in apps are supported directly by the operating system, ensuring they receive regular updates and security patches. This can help maintain system stability and security without requiring users to find and manage third-party alternatives. 4. User Education: Criticism of bloatware sometimes reflects a lack of understanding of how to manage and customize the operating system. Educating users about how to remove or disable unwanted applications can help them tailor their experience to better meet their needs. 5. Market Dynamics: Manufacturers and software developers often include certain apps for financial reasons, such as partnerships or promotional agreements. While this may seem annoying, it helps support the development and maintenance of the operating system, which benefits all users in the long run. In summary, while some users may dislike bloatware, it can offer convenience, support, and cater to diverse needs, making the criticism not universally applicable.
@@OffcialAbdulPlays Please explain to me where in your initial post you where intelligent? @@darthhydralisk I apologize for any misunderstanding. I did not mean to imply that your specific experience with Windows 11 was negative or that it lacked features you desired. If you’re referring to expectations for future operating systems like Windows 12 potentially being more focused on AI, that’s an interesting perspective and a direction that many technology companies are exploring. If you have specific features or capabilities you expect from future versions, I’d be happy to discuss those further. Thank you for your feedback!
I would love to switch to Linux because of how modular it is and how much control it gives you, but I'm too scared of compatibility issues or any other problems I might run into since ive been using Windows for pretty much my entire life... Any Linux users out there have any words of advice for a newbie looking to transition? Where should I begin? What should I do first?
there are heaps of different Linux 'distro's..... but at least to start with, try Linux Mint 21.3. Later, after you have some experience on Linux you can try out other 'distro's. I mention Mint 21.3, because it seems to be plug and go..... all my accessories just worked after I did a fresh install. Including printer/scanner, wifi and bluetooth... no issues. If there is any issue, Mint has a great forum for sorting out teething problems.
W11, W12, W13, W14 .... when DX is fully converted to Vulkan is windows the last system which I will install on my machine. Microsoft is nothing else as a big data crawler which sits inside your system, slows it down and fills your machine with crap features which nobody has asked for. When you will use Windows anyways then get sure to install a good firewall, because the firewall from windows itself suggested security where none is and also stops Microsoft from controlling your machine. It has good reasons why Microsoft itself uses on their systems Linux instead of Windows. Think about this!
Looks like they took some ideas from Linux and applied them. Which is great, honestly. It will make the whole experience better for Windows users. I am curious about what innovation they will bring to the table.
My main computer at work is a Windows 10 machine but I have put together another computer running Linux Mint and I am quite surprised how well and easy it is to use. I can pretty much do anything on the computer that I can with my Windows 10 computer. I think I’ll be migrating more of my workload to the Linux computer and saying goodbye to an old friend.
why microsoft wont allow users to use legacy shells is beyond me. bring back classic/luna theme and i promise you, you'll see the biggest influx in users since windows 7
I've been a Windows user my whole life, but now I'm on the path to switching to over to MacOS, just sick of all the issues that you get on Windows. your PC will fine for a couple of months than boom a new issue will pop up out of nowhere.
I have used W11 for about 6 months and I moved back to W10. I am not happy with the Windows layout direction. I hope ChromeOS to become a serious os in coming years. If not, then I will consider to move on linux. The only reason why I did not move to linux yet is Premiere Pro.
I'm a gamer, so I don't care a lot about most of it's features; I just care about game compatibility, and speed....Hopefully Win. 12 doesn't disappoint.
You should try Linux if you like faster performance for games. Most games work really well and Valve is soon going to threaten all remaining games to be Linux compatible or be taken off of the Steam store.
For me an operating system should just be something in the background that runs the software I actually want to use. I do not need a confusing interface and ai crap. I would probably spend most of my time trying to turn off annoying 'features'.
Problem is I use some software that will just not run on it that does not have an alternative such as Daz Studio. If all the software I need would run I would use it. I will have to keep a Windows PC for that but will be staying on 10. Not likeing anything I'm hearing about 12. I may use Linux apart from when I need certain software. I wish software manufacturers would wake up and make Linux versions.
Windows again misses the technical writings on the wall. Look for example at OpenSuSE Micro and its comrades how a state-of-the-art modular system is built thats learnt the Docker lesson. Never delete a package, but overlay transactional. Forget about installing apps, but install complete packages with all its transitional requirements without interfering other packages with overlapping parts. Thats much more important than the silly AI stuff. And build a puggable UI subsystem like the display managers of linux. Thats what i'd expect, no less.
I started with Windows '98 in 1999 right on through Windows 11 and everything in between. So, yeah win 12 will be the cherry on top. I'm excited, as long as hardware requirements don't change.
this channel is RIDICULOUSLY underrated. I really hope windows 12 keeps improving the UI consistently and with way more customizability. Desktop widgets like on mac would be awesome too

microsoft should make the taskbar more customisable like so that you could put a picture on the taskbar and change the shape as in sharp edges or smooth edges and also make it so that you can put the searchbar where you want even on the taskbar and you could choose where it is on. the windows button the clock too
Could be speculation, but let's not forget the rumored ads. Consider running a program, and suddenly an ad pops up. Also, I believe that copilot is capable of recording everything you do, and sending the information directly back to Microsoft.
Copilot showed up on my Windows 10 machine. I don't know exactly when Microsoft snuck it on there, but one day it was just there. It looks like an attempt at an advanced Cortana. The first (and only) question I asked it was ...how do I uninstall Copilot? I already knew how to uninstall it, I just wanted to see if it would tell me. It did.
I left windows when they ended support for windows 7. Since then I have been running Linux Mint Cinnamon, and it so much better than any Windows could ever become
Don't forget the two biggest things that will come with Windows 12: A whole new load of bugs/vulnerabilities, and software incompatibilities. Beyond that, it's very telling that one of the "features" touted for W12 is "no subscription fee". This implies that people are expecting there to be a subscription fee, and if you condition enough to expect one, they're not going to revolt when there eventually is one. Microsoft would already be charging users by the minute if they thought they could get away with it. Plus, I predict that users will have even less control over "their" computers under W12. Micorosoft will continue to freely change whatever they like in Windows and users will have no way to stop them. Whatever benefits W12 may have, it will come with a lot of negatives as well. Sadly, people have been conditioned to accept these things as normal.
After playing the "Rodeo Song" for MS, I formatted C: installed Debian 12, and am very pleased overall. To migrate my Nord subscription, one must use terminal commands. Daunting, but I'm stumbling my way through the curve. Linux is very different from Windoze, but the apps are designed to work together. I especially like using Activities. Go ahead and jump in over your head. watcha got to loose? 🙂
Please 🙏 please enable aggregation in linking multiple audio devices for DAW users . Also AVB audio endpoint support. It is a ieee standard and most hardware already has the ability.
Hope this promising look is a good thing I have a Windows 11 laptop a Samsung book 3 hopefully it won't have any problems updating when it eventually happens next to 12 but a curious question will these upgrades be in stages or all at once over the first installation or snippets of upgrades? I know you have said it will appear in small updates to window's 11 OS but when does this happen before the official start like one month before or as a bundle of upgrades? I like 11 and love the next phase to a number 12 but it could be neat to use a name instead of 12 or something like the colour 12 as only seven colours in a rainbow when you mix red and orange you get VERMILION this could be a good name of the OS for Windows.

Where all of these bells and whistles are fine and dandy, we as users arent looking for a fancy new build that complicates things. Simplicity from OS's like XP, Vista, windows 7 are what we all crave.
Top notch performance? I'll believe it when I see it. My Windows 11 runs like treacle and is super clunky and I have a MONSTER processor, SSD and more than enough RAM. It baffles me what Windows developers to to make it quite as slow as it is.
Sorry, but there's no new thing for linux users. In the last 20 years, I've seen so many beautiful design drafts in previews or leaks of the "next" windows version. And every time, I thought, oh that's very cool, but it was always shipped very far away from the design draft. But thanks for the video.
Not impressed with the revamped UI, but I guess they had to put new paint on it. The one thing I like is the core modularity approach to the OS, but I'm not sure how updates will go any smoother with a system that is using an SSD for its primary drive.
The issue with operating systems isn't "the operating system", it boils down to use-case. If you game, Linux is not the answer, BUT if you are slightly insane and like torturing yourself a little, you can enable pass-thru for local devices on your system on a Windows VM, get bare-metal performance and LEARN a lot in the process. That is of course if your system allows for this functionality. I run a linux server and keep everything on it, I limit what I do with Windows, its a perfect mix for my use-case. The first step is to define your use-case, then you will know exactly what to do or learn.
I like how they ditched everything that made Windows...yknow, *look like Windows* in an effort to make it look like bargain-bin pound shop MacOS. What was wrong with the no-frills appeal? why does everything have to be transparent and minimalist? And what's with all the AI crap? If I build a computer, I want to use a computer, not interface with an algorithm that will use my computer for me.... And why is Microsoft *so* insistent that I can only have a Windows PC *if* I have an account with them that is intrinsically tied to my personal computer? Can I not be trusted to use my device without an internet connection? Or does Microsoft have some financial gain from (probably) borderline illegally collecting data from the users of it's OS? If they are not combining control panel and settings, not modernizing the old windows xp elements. And still forcing bing, news in widgets section, then there is no need for a new os.
Great video you deserve more subs man
Just change to Linux Mint and trust me you'll avoid a lot of headache
Yep! Right answer.
It’s 80% what their investors want so they can pocket even more money. I will never touch windows again. To be fair I haven’t in 9 years so…
Wait wait that taskbar looks a bit like a fucking dock. Why? is callled a taskBAR not a taskDOCK
ISNT THE DOCK A FUCKING BAR THAT FLOATS?
"windows 12 will blow your mind"
ah yes its gonna blow you away with the extreme requirements you will need just to run it
Ecars are creating disposable cars (look at the price of battery changes), and operating systems are creating disposable computers. The number of PCs that did not make the W11 cut is staggering.
It's an extremely wasteful moment in history. The best thing I think Microsoft could do right now is to back off their bar for entry.
I don't trust microsoft with anything so I left windows ages ago for linux and don't plan on ever going back until windows is open source or somehow better than arch
I was about to comment on arch's stability but then I realized they are about the same.... depressing that a once great OS is falling to immense corporate greed.
@@FoxyAnimater even then arch's stability really isn't that bad anymore and rarely has any issues. I reckon I had more issues with windows in the last 3 years than linux lmao

Yeah Linux is much better in this regard.
Please don’t make me laugh. They’re way too busy packing spyware into their os and disguise it as features. It’s not like they listen to user requests. The taskbar still can’t be repositioned or made smaller in Winblows 11

that's the OS they use at microsoft.. if it's good enough for them....
Let me guess. mint?
That’s called downgrading my friend 😂
Windows 11 didn't provide me anything good reason to move from Windows 10. Windows 12 looks to be an AI data grabbing OS. I am sticking with Win10 for now, but Linux is my go to place in the near future. Windows will live in a WM if I need apps like O365 or Adobe suite. Who the hell wants AI instead of a start menu. The whole reason for the start menu is to help me look for an app.
That aside, great video on explaining what it could bring.
Your just mad you can’t install windows 11 requirements 😂
@@OffcialAbdulPlays I like your "inteligent" assumption. I can run Windows 11 and I had it installed. I just don't like the crap they are throwing in. But I guess that is too much for you mate to understand. If you like windows 11 great for you. If you like the spamware that is windows 11 good for you. I don't.
@@darthhydralisk ok want me to be intelligent even if I was? Alright. Critics of bloatware might be wrong for a few reasons:
You assumed that by me saying Windows 12 will be an AI data collection Os and that Windows 11 did not provide me any reason to stay on it or move to it from Win 10, means I can't run it.
I get it that english might not be your native tongue and that is fine, but if you do not understand something don't start talking crap.
@@darthhydralisk I apologize for any misunderstanding. My initial response aimed to provide a general overview of concerns about bloatware and data collection in Windows 11 based on common user feedback.
Think about this!
did you have a stroke? please edit your comment with non-broken english. atleast add any sort of punctuation.....
Looks like they took some ideas from Linux and applied them.
Which is great, honestly. It will make the whole experience better for Windows users. I am curious about what innovation they will bring to the table.
All they can do now is just steal Linux UI ideas, hilarious. Windows is dead

I can pretty much do anything on the computer that I can with my Windows 10 computer.

I'll install on day one. I like Windows 11 and the bar centered etc. good stuff
why microsoft wont allow users to use legacy shells is beyond me. bring back classic/luna theme and i promise you, you'll see the biggest influx in users since windows 7
I've been a Windows user my whole life, but now I'm on the path to switching to over to MacOS, just sick of all the issues that you get on Windows. your PC will fine for a couple of months than boom a new issue will pop up out of nowhere.
dude, windows 10 is the modern windows 7 rn
I have used W11 for about 6 months and I moved back to W10. I am not happy with the Windows layout direction. I hope ChromeOS to become a serious os in coming years. If not, then I will consider to move on linux. The only reason why I did not move to linux yet is Premiere Pro.
consider switching to davinci resolve

For me an operating system should just be something in the background that runs the software I actually want to use. I do not need a confusing interface and ai crap. I would probably spend most of my time trying to turn off annoying 'features'.
Just use Linux.
@@philby1 Your best bet might be Ubuntu or some variant based on it since it's more optimized to run most windows based apps with a slight few tweaks.

I think I'll stick to 11 until its EOL, kind of scared of the UI changes
Windows again misses the technical writings on the wall. Look for example at OpenSuSE Micro and its comrades how a state-of-the-art modular system is built thats learnt the Docker lesson. Never delete a package, but overlay transactional. Forget about installing apps, but install complete packages with all its transitional requirements without interfering other packages with overlapping parts. Thats much more important than the silly AI stuff. And build a puggable UI subsystem like the display managers of linux. Thats what i'd expect, no less.
I think they should add windows 11 start,or at least add a feature to make folders in start....
Windows "Super Spy" 12...
Desktop widgets like on mac would be awesome too
Good article. Thank you! When I upgraded to 11, it did not make much difference. It had some new features, but I never used 90% of them. I am hardly an "I.T. guy" in terms of my skills/use. LOL

You can change its position, but it's still not worth it with all of the spying.
With Linux and current Proton-development breathing down on Microsoft's neck, I want more performance out of my OS. I don't need a modular windows, I need an efficient windows

microsoft should make the taskbar more customisable like so that you could put a picture on the taskbar and change the shape
as in sharp edges or smooth edges and also make it so that you can put the searchbar where you want even on the taskbar and you could choose where it is on. the windows button the clock too
Could be speculation, but let's not forget the rumored ads.
Great content ever.
Just... nice!
I see nothing but pointless gratuitous graphics changes

This may be what finally pushes Linux into the mainstream
Although I use macOS which is clean and just works but if Windows 12 is good it'll make for a good secondary OS

The one thing I like is the core modularity approach to the OS, but I'm not sure how updates will go any smoother with a system that is using an SSD for its primary drive.
we got windows 12 release date leak already?

Pretty sure the "Control Panel" would still in light and old icons style, even though the overall theme is set to "Dark" mode 😂😅

They should put the menu bar inside the title bar to remove the dead space
I personally like the start button in the middle on Windows 11.
They're becoming more like Apple by the day and I don't like it.
My thoughts exactly.
If I wanted the Appel experience I be on a I device or would use a Mac inspired Linux distro not on Windows.
Do we still have Control Panel & Settings apps because Microsoft havent figuresd out how to integrate them?
Think I will upgrade to WIndows 7, its a breath of fresh air compared to 10,11 and any BS OS after that
