Good characterization of Nyarlathotep. He always struck me as engaging in chaos and chicanery out of boredom. His masters are either aloof or nearly mindless, and a lot of the plots he engages in are as much to entertain himself as to advance their interests.
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the last survivor of the Great Flood told him that "to conquer death you must first conquer sleep." I guess he was more right than we thought. Also, I'm already looking forward to the adventures of the Serpent-Man Conan!
Awesome Kull stuff!! Kull is an interesting character of Howard’s, and I actually appreciate now that he’s not a direct lineal ancestor of Conan… kind of like Turtles and Goku…
OMG!!! Sublime introductory guide to the Sandman's Kingdom! Intriguing passages, eccentric characters and other dangers of dreamlike delusions to consider from the surface of the misty Iceberg!!! Intrigued by the lands to be explored soon and more!!! Lovecraftian Multiverese here whe Go!!! Yay!! Thank you very much!!!🌌🧙♂🕵🧑🎨✨
Great video, the depth of your knowledge about the more esoteric and exotic parts of Howard's lore is always amazing Grimdark, I know you probably won't see this comment or respond but am really glad you're well. No one does what you do, or understands Howard & Lovecraft's Lore quite like you.
Love your work and very glad to hear that you’re doing better. Into the dream lands! Edit: Since you mentioned them, would you ever have any interest in reviewing/discussing those movies?
That would probably make the great winding catacombs beneath Paris a great portal to the Dreamlands. There's even an old church that incorporates thousands of bones of plague victims in it's construction. Deep and so labyrinthine that you need a guide through the tunnels, with some tunnels having been blocked off permanently from the public. I can imagine it as if to make sure nothing can come through.
I have the Sanderson D@D 5E adaptation for a Cthulhu mythos plug in. Do yourself a favor NOW and get that book. The art, lore, classes and races are phenomenal. They stat all the mythos gods to be unbeatable entities who go through phases of power or influence based on their cults activity.
Great to see more Dreamlands content! Ever thought about doing a video on the fiction of Clark Ashton Smith? He was a correspondent with Howard and Lovecraft, and his dark fantasy was super unique.
Yeah actually I have one short on their correspondence and I cover Clark Ashton smith’s frog monsters and tsathagoua in the end times episode of all gods in Conan
@@GrimDarkHalfOff Cool! I'll have to check those out. In addition to tsathagoua, one of his main contributions was the ghoul god Mordiggian. It took me a lot longer to get into CAS compared to Howard or Lovecraft, but I think were Lovecraft was definetly horror, and Howard was action, Smith focused more on tone and the exoticism of location.
I was recently watching Conan the destroyer the dreamer (god Conan helped bring to life ) looked like hypnos a neoden from the dreamlands and they return his horn to him and awakens something different but maybe 🤔 it was his dreamland form!
Man all this eldritch stuff makes me want to go play The Secret World (not legends). That game had some awesome story, so sad FunCrush gave that game the shiv.
Dream Magic sounds like the Somniari (Dreamers) of the Elvhenan in Dragon Age. Mages that could ender the Fade and affect the dreams of mortals Freddy Krueger style.
I am certain there was a video called "Why I Like what I like" which really explained 40k and Conan really well as "human versus..." which I found really clever (oh I guess it also tackles Vampire, but it's themes are better than the universe to me), did this get replaced by a "new video" or is it just gone?
@@GrimDarkHalfOff It is old in years-levels of old, where Conan represented Human versus Chaos (I think), Vampire representing Human versus Humans (and society I guess) and 40k represented Humans versus Technology maybe?
I didn’t know he was gone, my condolences His books are ok He writes a “depowered” Conan who’s more reliant on allies that he gains through his determination and charisma leaning heavily into the character’s freedom fighting themes
@@GrimDarkHalfOff how about his world building? Does it expand the lore or greatly explore it? The world building in stories typically fascinates me more than the characters. Like I'm not interested in watching any game of thrones content, and I read one of the books back in the day, but I could read for hours about the lore and history of the ASOFAI and look over the maps while reading. That's why I would like to experience for Conan.

Thank you, if you listen to my gods series or my ghoul video I characterize him similarly
The Cosmic Troll.
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the last survivor of the Great Flood told him that "to conquer death you must first conquer sleep."
I guess he was more right than we thought. Also, I'm already looking forward to the adventures of the Serpent-Man Conan!
Robert giving HP the "Fight me you Ponce" look at 0:04. 😆
Robert is trying to make his friend exercise a little
Ahh yes. Need some inspiration for a Mage the Awakening game? This is your ticket.
Just wanted to say thank you Grim Dark for your in depth on Conan Lore you are a true warrior
Thank brother it means a lot
Gratitude added, sentiment shared.
A hot drink? My brother in Crom, it's 1am and its still 95° outside
Hot sour drinks can be fenomenal at making hot weather bearable. Especially the night heat when it gets more humid.
Kuth the Star Girdle, brilliant, I've been looking forward to this one.
I was always really interested in the dreamlands, but never had time to delve in to them.
Thanks for good work
Awesome Kull stuff!! Kull is an interesting character of Howard’s, and I actually appreciate now that he’s not a direct lineal ancestor of Conan… kind of like Turtles and Goku…
I been waiting you explore this topic about the dreamland/Kuth the Star Girdle.

Still confused but love it. Can't wait for more videos in this series!
I love the Dreamlands! I love this part and am looking forward to more! Thanks Grim.
Thanks for bringing us this interesting new material my friend.👑
I love that map at the beginning of the video! 👍

Glad your doing well keep up the great work
Thank you for the video, grand as always
Let's Go! Good to see you on the timeline brother.
Great video. Always here for the Conan content. Thanks brother
YES, THE CONAN LORE DADDY HAS PUT OUT ANOTHER BANGER.
I kind of like the idea that Humanity is a plague upon Dreamlands.
We come in, fuck shit up, leave, and refuse to elaborate.
Take that, unknowable old ones. Ya bastards.
Looks like Conan is back on the channel boys!
half-off? im 2 halfs of a whole ready! KADATH awaits!!!
Welcome back champ!
Oh yeah, baby. We are so back.
You should do more Cthulhu stuff!
What a wonderful day
Welcome back. Get well!
Most excellent you are a man of culture and outstanding information fun and entertainment! ⚔️😉👍
Love your work and very glad to hear that you’re doing better.
Into the dream lands!

Could you use this in werewolf the apocalypse this is truly something thanks for covering this.
😊 I just woke up so I've had enough sleep

I know I should embrace pure warrior spirit, but... magic is so cool tho.
Hine your warrior spirit to supernatural levels! Boom magic at an affordable price!

I would strongly suggest looking in to Parabola from Fallen London, as well as the Mansus from Cultist sim
worth it!

Yeassss I love new videos
This rocks
Have you thought of reviewing the recent Conan comics? Both barbarian and savage sword?

I hate those mewling zoogs the most.
Why do I suddenly have the urge to hear some Radio Birdman "Into the Maelstrom"?
How good are the Robert Jordan Conan books? I read his wheel of time series up until he passed.

There isn't any kuth in conan universe
I tried Google it and there was nothing
Is this fanfiction?
You can edit scripts. Heroes n wizards/kings and generals would pay you if you're agreeable
In some ancient beliefs, Sleep is a borther of the Death. And a Dream is a son of the Sleep.
