Countryside Homestay Experience | Traditional Japan House In Akita

- It was my first time doing a homestay experience in the countryside of Japan but it sure was a very memorable and eye opening experience for me.
If you also want to stay here, email my friends at Akita Inu Tourism and they can help you contact Ishigaki-san and book for you in Japanese :) (English friendly - yay!)

After Ishigaki-san retires, she wants to do this kind of homestay experience more and introduce more people to the beauty of the country side.
Here are all the activities I did in Akita:

I hope this video gave you some insight on what life can be like in the countryside of Japan! I love the countryside more as it's less explored by tourists so you really can see this "raw" kind of Japan and understand the local culture and history more.
Each prefecture has it's own speciality and history so what better way to immerse yourself in the culture than to try a homestay experience? :) I know a lot of you are worried if you can't speak Japanese but honestly you will be fine! It's not the language that matters, it's the connection between two people so step out of your comfort zone and try it. Japanese people in the countryside tend to be very friendly too and I'm sure they will give you a helping hand if you are lost even if they don't speak English.
If you do decide to go, let me know how your experience was and also tell Ishigaki-san I said hi! Hopefully she remembers me?! LOL
Have a good weekend everyone!!

Broke For Free - The Gold Lining
Japan's countryside always looks so relaxing, peaceful and somewhat... mystical, you know? Like if there was a lingering ancient magic. I love it.
This almost made me cry. I was born and raised in Japan and now I live in Peru .... I miss Japan my country .my home .
The elder woman is soo sweet and nice😊
That tea room looked really nice. I now want to try kiritanpo, I've never had it before. And you got to drive a diesel train! 🚆
The elder woman is pure gem - so loving and caring.
I'm proud of being a Japanese
You can just see how kind and happy this woman is. All she wants is to make other people happy and its adorable. We should appreciate people like this more

Respect, honor and kindness defines Japanese culture . I've always loved and Japanese people from early childhood. If I visit Japan I'll visit the country side. Beautiful country side.
my boss will kill me if he found out that i watch youtube at work.
A dream...
WOW!!! That was totally awesome. I think if I ever moved to Japan I would move to the country side but not that far from the city. That way I could have the experience of both worlds. The food looked fantastic and the house was great. Thank you for another great video.
I was expecting Totoro to pop up at anytime.
