Also! The infant nightgowns with the elastic bottomes are actually the easiest way to change diapers during naps & night time. No zipping or snapping required. Receiving blankets make the best burp clothes. The little ones they sell in thr store didn't cut it for us.
I agree with you on not over buying baby clothes especially newborn size, they grow out of them sooo quickly. Love what you got !! Sooo excited for you and Romeo !!
A little advice, have changing tables set-up both upstairs and downstairs, you are not going to want to climb those stairs every time you baby needs changing. (makes life a little easier).
Agreed. I never invested in one cause it was too much of a hassle. I just had a pack of wipes and a pack of diapers that I dipped into both for upstairs and downstairs. Lol😂
If you have a once upon a child out there they are so worth going to to find some great baby clothes for cheap and not buying new. We have found the best stuff❤
For both of our kids, I had my husband pick out the coming home outfit…with everything the mom does, the dad sometimes can feel left out, so I had him pick it out and he was pretty excited about it
I had my husband go pick it up...does that count? LOL I had opted not to know the gender until birth, so had an outfit for each I'd seen that I wanted. When she was born, I just had to tell him where to go and describe it. Luckily, it was a small shop she found it easily.
Ooo! You should totally start looking for an old vintage/antique trunk to use as a keepsake box and keep it out as decor so people can open it and look at photo albums and scrapbooks, and another one for the baby's toys! 💗🥰
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned. But After 6 kids you know what works. My two cents worth would be to use nightgowns for night time for the first 8 weeks. You can get straight to the nappy without too much fussing with getting legs in and out of stretch and grows. The less disturbances the quicker they can get back to sleep. Also if they get hiccups they can go down, don't wait for the winding burb, it's done. 😊
There are baby “thrift stores”/consignment shops. Major chain where I am is called Once Upon a Child. Maybe there’s one close to you! Also, ask other friends who’ve had babies! That’s how I’ve clothed my two kiddos, hand me downs! Especially since they grow so fast some things only get worn once! So sharing is so essential!
You were lucky! In my experience with much old and grandchildren, most hand me downs are in questionable shape with stains, etc. once Upon a Child is great - so many brand new items still with tags or truly like new things.
I do not know if anyone has shared, but gowns are great for newborns and make that nighttime feedings and diaper changes much easier than snaps and zippers. I cannot wait to see your new bundle of joy.
The great thing about motherhood is that you learn as you go. Theres no rules just intuition and what works best for you. You will be amazed at how much knowledge you will attain. You got this MaCenna!
I totally agree. It’s learning by doing, unfortunately for the baby 😂 but it’s mostly intuition and of course some of us have our own mothers that can be very helpful
THIS! All the ‘advice’ and routines on social media are so overwhelming, just trust your intuition! Babies don’t need complicated routines or constant entertainment. All they need is their momma for the first 2-3months, don’t let the noise distract you from what your instincts already know!
An online Pop-up Shop would be awesome. More of us would definitely love to shop your curated vintage finds! You should check out the thrift stores for baby clothes. I find so many brand new items for cheap!
I’m not a mother but one thing my mama friends say that was very helpful is breast feeding cart with wheels that you can move around the house. You can have snacks your water bottle and the pump, nip cream some extra dippers and all the things you would need for your breastfeeding or pumping needs not sure if that is part of your plan but just in case just a reminder that as you prepare for baby don’t forget to also prepare for your needs!
I made a self-care caddy. I used a large shower caddy with compartments. It was where I kept my water, a couple of burp cloths, lanolin (for nips and chapped lips), nipple shields, nursing pads, and my phone. A cart would have been problematic in my home, but the caddy was great.
Of course we would love a pop up shop online. I personally buy from Drew so it’s doable. I would just ask the lone fox 🦊 how he orchestrates everything. You and Romeo will figure parenthood out because it’s different and special for everyone, the main goal is to have a happy healthy little person that you both will love more than you can even imagine. ❤
Macenna, save your receipt from your shopping at Carters. You may find the newborn sizes small depending on your little ones size at birth. Also Fantastic the spray cleaner works amazing for getting stains out of clothes.
Love the baby clothes you picked. Just a suggestion here. Resist the urge to wash all the clothes right now. Wait until the baby is born to see how big he is. I’ve known so many moms who said their baby was too big either when it was born or very soon after to even fit in the newborn size. Conversely, my son was born early so was tiny and even the newborn size swallowed him up. Can’t wait to see the progress on the kitchen!
MaCenna, I love your nursery it's my style simple, and baby has just what he needs. it is so refreshing to see a mom not overdue it with baby clothes and such. I was the same way. Babies and kids don't need a lot of things. Even with toys, i didn't buy a lot of toys either. I love learning things.
The calla lily is leaning like that either because the bulb might not be deep enough in the ground/the bulb may be tilted or it’s trying to reach for the sun. Calla lilies love being in mostly sunny spots, typically the south side.
MaCenna, you are the best at doing voice overs. Other Creators become very mechanical and it is not enjoyable but when you do it you just talk to us like we’re there having a visit with you. VERY entertaining and love ALL the cute baby things 😍
I"ve had two kids, two grandkids and several nieces and nephews - Receiving Blankets must have items. Babies like to be swaddled in them especially when they are newborns. Get several of them. Also something that's very good to have is a baby swing or rocker seat of some sort. My daughter would not stop crying until I put her in the baby swing and she stopped and fell asleep. This happened often. Thank God I had the swing!
I used receiving blankets, too, but now they have the gauze swaddling cloths that are so stretchy and breatheable...wish that had been a thing for my daughter. She was born in a particularly hot summer and no a/c (common where we lived) and gauze would have been so much cooler!
Get bibs lots of bibs is my recommendation. My sons were drool machines . With that get a few with plastic linings to help with the wetness against babies chest. Just saw your hall there were no bibs. You may have a shoulder blanket with you for spit ups or drool. If you don’t want to use a bib. My eldest had to sport two bibs to keep his chest dry. Just a shoulder blanket is useful for spit ups catching drool, and as coverup when nursing. Hope this will help. Yes every baby is different it’s true. My babies only used bibs in their waking hours not during naps or at night. Sure that was self explanatory but I’d just thought I’d add that just in case.
We loved Carter’s for our kids. They had cute outfits but were generally in pajamas for the first 3 months. I also really loved the teddy bear coats and dinosaur hoodies.
Looking at his cute little clothes takes me back to shopping for my sweet boy 🥹 now he’s 3! Also I know you love being substantial able and thrifting. Helpful new mommy tip, I thrifted 90% of my little guys clothes from when he was a baby to now. They grow so quickly and I found thrifting super helpful in both donating and buying.
Skip the socks and skip the mittens for baby. Socks constantly get kicked off (use footed sleepers if you're worried about tootsies getting cold). And mittens interfere with development if used too much. Baby needs to feel things with his hands in order to make brain connections. I know 2 people who almost constantly put mittens on their babies to keep them from scratching and their babies were extremely behind in milestones:( Just keep their nails filed and let them feel away! It's one of their only ways of exploring at that age:)
I agree - mittens for the first couple of weeks, then off. MaCenna, return the larger size packet - you won't need them. 😊 I did like socks, but finding some that stayed on was problematic. The best ones I had were discovered in desperation. There used to be a discount store a la Target/Walmart, etc called Gold Circle and I was in the store when I realized we'd lost yet another sock so I bought a package "knowing" they'd be awful. Surprisingly, they were great! Stayed on, but weren't tight and left no marks. Their brand was Gold Bug and it turned out they had the best t-shirt crib sheets, etc as well!
Carters has been a good affordable source of baby items. For newborns I liked the long sleeping gowns- no snaps to deal with particularly during night time diaper changing and the babies don’t out grow them as fast. Night time sleep sacks are also nice. A Great- Gram who has helped with 3 generations of family babies. Thank you so much for your vlogs. Take care , relax and enjoy the coming months.😘
13:05 Macenna, please listen: The best advice I have ever heard and followed for my baby boy's diaper changing came from my uncle who raised four boys. DO NOT USE WET WIPES unless you are out of your house. Wash the baby's bottom in the bathroom sink, (lukewarm water+gentle bathsoap) laying the baby on your forearm. Saves your baby from rashes, your wallet, the environment and your time. I know you will love this method, we are in the same tribe!❤ PS: my pediatrician said the same thing, adding "if you don't believe how the so called baby wipes are bad for everyday use, try clean your face with one and tell me how you feel". NO WIPES!😅
I saw a family that took a photo of themselves and the baby together every month even when he grew up to a teenager. It was really cute. Pop up online shop sounds fun! 🤩. Love your channels❤❤
Years ago I was flipping throu a Cosmo magazine , and the man that did all their cover shoots had a daughter , when they brought her home her put her into an adult size swim suit and then every year after that took the same picture with her in the same suit untill he hit 21 years old , it was so sweet and wish I had done the same with my three sons . Just an idea .
Just loving your outfit - it’s gorgeous on you! Our first grand child arrived in Feb and we are besotted it’s her! I’m loving all the baby prep in your vlogs as we are not too far ahead of you! The outfits you bought are fab and yes, it goes very quickly from an outfit that was too big yesterday, barely fits today 😂 Like someone else said in the comments, storage clear outs and organisation are never boring to watch. It’s just that I should be doing some of my own instead of watching yours 😊 🇮🇪
You are so beloved by your followers. It was a great video, you always make great videos. I am truly so happy for you and Romeo. You will be an amazing mom!
Highly recommend having a small container of diapers in the drawers for easy access, like three or four at a time, just refill as needed. 😀 saved me and my husband from a lot of stress when our daughter started rolling over 😂
I didnt use the mittens bodys and mittens because the hand for the kids is the 2nd best calming thing after the mother. Because they do suck their finger in the womb nonstop :) Luckly my son doesnt need bottles or anything. Also can help detect his reaxtions when he is frustrated or tired ect. His hand is very useful in this way :)
I am only going to give you one piece of advice, baby gowns are great for nights! I bought neutrals and used them with all four of my kids, 2 boys & 2 girls. My husband liked them too, because when you wake up in the middle of the night the last thing you want to have to deal with is snaps or zippers. Whatnot might be a good option for your pop up shop... Just make sure you let us know in advance so we can show up!!!
I gotta say, you are so responsible, thoughtful and practical when it comes to the baby stuff. I really like watching your baby related content additionally to the diy stuff 😊
I’m excited for you to be at this stage!!!!! As a mama of two diapers, diapers diaperssss that’s what you need!!! I breastfeed, but if you are not planning that ton of formula, water for baby. But my advice swing deep into the breastfeeding world is sooo beneficial for mom and baby and for the pocket
Yes I agree, my children are grown now but I agree you definitely shouldn't overbuy because they grow so fast and when they're little, they only need the basic onesies, socks, sleepers and a few outfits. Just keep all of the receipts in case you need to return or exchange the size. I'm so glad you have the energy to get it all done during your pregnancy especially the storage unit. You go girl 💪🏾
It may have been mentioned before, but a bunch of the clothes you bought seem fall and winter and you are having a June baby. Long sleeves are going to be pretty hot.
Oh, my gosh. My first (also a boy) was born just over 24 yrs ago. Watching you with the newborn clothes brought back allll the memories. I was so excited and I loved finding cute little things for him to wear. They develop their own personality and start having opinions so darn quickly and the reality of baby food stains, gunk from crawling and rolling around and just the reality of life with a small human sets in so quickly - just thoroughly enjoy those first few months when you get to indulge all of that girly joy in dressing your baby up lol. Go for it and have fun with it. It passes so darn quickly. You’re absolutely right that we ALLLLL have *opinions* out here and so much advice for you (mom’s just can’t help themselves 😂) but you will figure it all out for yourselves. You are so resourceful and quick on your feet. You’ll be sharing things with us old hands that we didn’t know before long 😊
8:16 In the Netherlands I was actually advised to NOT cover the hands as they need them to comfort themselves. My son especially loved his hands as he never took a pacifier! Just a tip if your son also doesn’t take a pacifier.
@@allalala9916I understand that it can be difficult. Just take comfort that I have heard the same but with pacifiers! I think it’s always tough to figure out what to let them use and for how long. Be kind and gentle to yourself. I was just told to not bite my fingers around him when I’m trying to help him to stop and let him dictate when he stops. Eventually she will want to stop or one of her peers will say something to make her want to stop. I wish you all the luck in your journey!
Yes , I even showed my husband your little Kensley just not moving at all , while you’re talking through the slowmotion video ! My heart goes out to her how adorable she is ! Her life will drastically change that’s for sure ! Love her !
Girl, return the pants. The elastic restricts their big round bellies. Return the newborn sized items. Return the tshirts. Too finicky for the early months. You want easy breezy. Put clothes that are too big on him. He will grow into them QUICKLY. The only thing “newborn” you want is diapers. Get cute clothes when they are several months old. You are going to be sleep DEPRIVED and busy. Do baby gowns as other viewers have said. And in LA summers, all that baby will need is a diaper and a onesie. All mama is going to need is a break. Make it easy on yourself.
My best recommendation for baby/kid sleepers is BAMBOO! We love Little Sleepies and that's pretty much all my kids wear when we're home. They also have adult sizes so you can match or coordinate with your little one.
It is easy to over buy with your first baby bcuz everything is so cute. Babies grow faster than you can imagine so I wouldn't buy too much. Don't remove tags cuz I guarantee you'll need to exchange or refund. Surely you will be getting cute, useful things at a baby shower, so don't try to stock up on stuff yourself. Simple gowns were easier to use at night, & a diaper shirt & diaper during the day were way more practicle for staying at home. As a new mom you think your baby needs to be presentable in cute clothes, but chances are those clothes will only be worn once! You should really shop thrift stores for some things.
Just had my fourth baby. One thing that I really loved this time around was the muslin triangle bibs on Amazon. And the muslin blankets. They are plain but a little textured so they add a pop of texture to a simple outfit. My 4th is a spit up baby so these really saved us from changing his outfits all the time. And the blankets are nice because they are so thin (not too thin and thread bare) and breathable. I even prefer these to the expensive stretchy blankets. The are a good all purpose blanket. You can’t have too many sleepers! So excited for you guys!!
We got a sleep sack and tops that wrapped kimono style. Those were great for their safety. The kimono style tops we got from Chinatown LA. Don’t know if you want to go there.
They have onsies that have a magnetic close instead of snaps and zippers that are a great option too! Don’t have to worry about accidentally zipping them, or finding the snaps at night 🤗
How exciting getting baby goodies! I wanted to suggest you could attach a cloth diaper holder to the side or sides of the changing table. Or some kind of cloth organizer with pockets for various things for baby. Good luck!
Keep what you have I needed the newborns for 3 months for most my kids I just make small babies. I always ended up needing more newborns. Elastic waist bands worked better for my babies. Just go with whatever works when baby is here. Love the clothes haul❤❤❤❤
McKenna x Lonefox collection on his site would be great for your trinkets 😍 no worries about putting up a selling website on your side while being preggo and renovating your kitchen… and Drew loves cute pieces, too 🥰
I'm watching Kensley in the background. It's like she knows her life is about to change but she doesn't know exactly how much. She's so sweet.
I thought the same thing!
She's giving some serious stink-eye! Has this dog ever forgone the haul before!?
Thought the same. Noticed it last vlog too.
Totally… poor Kinsley looks sad 😅❤❤😢. She’s like…
What’s happening?!?! Who’s my mom talking about??
I thought the same😂
Tbh I’d love to watch a garage deep clean/reorganize. I think that’s so satisfying.
The baby sack sleepers will be a life saver for you in the middle of the night they are amazing, and I highly recommend getting some
Wish they had this when I had my girls as they are sooo practical.
I was going to suggest that too 😊
Those are the best!!!
Yes sleep sacks are the best!
Also! The infant nightgowns with the elastic bottomes are actually the easiest way to change diapers during naps & night time. No zipping or snapping required.
Receiving blankets make the best burp clothes. The little ones they sell in thr store didn't cut it for us.
That sounds like great advice. Those sleep sacks weren’t around when my son was a baby.
Yes, I was gping to suggest the 'sacks' They are life in the beginning!
+1 to receiving blankets as burp cloths!
Yes, this!! Gowns were a lifesaver in the middle of the night!
Yes I loved those for my kids.
I agree with you on not over buying baby clothes especially newborn size, they grow out of them sooo quickly. Love what you got !! Sooo excited for you and Romeo !!
My son, as a new born, had so many new clothes he never wore.
But need to be careful not too have too little because of how much they spit up... And blowouts....
I was coming to comment the same thing. My son was only in newborn for a couple of weeks before he had outgrown them.
A little advice, have changing tables set-up both upstairs and downstairs, you are not going to want to climb those stairs every time you baby needs changing. (makes life a little easier).
I keep a diaper/wipe basket downstairs and just change baby on the couch or floor, super simple! ☺️
Agreed. I never invested in one cause it was too much of a hassle. I just had a pack of wipes and a pack of diapers that I dipped into both for upstairs and downstairs. Lol😂
I think a pack and play with bassinet and pockets would be great for a downstairs changing station
If you have a once upon a child out there they are so worth going to to find some great baby clothes for cheap and not buying new. We have found the best stuff❤
Often brand new with tags!
Seconded! Brand new stuff all the time, adorable, so cheap too
And you can recycle the smaller sizes!
I love them. My daughter is 8 and loves dresses so we go there get a handful that she can just play in.
So much better for the environment. Often baby clothes are barely worn, esp the smaller sizes!
Just paint the back of your arches. You can always add the trim later. We can’t wait for the baby. Enjoy these precious times in y’all lives!
Good advice👍
I absolutely love the idea of an online shop!! What a great way to rehome some loved pieces!
For both of our kids, I had my husband pick out the coming home outfit…with everything the mom does, the dad sometimes can feel left out, so I had him pick it out and he was pretty excited about it
This is so sweet ❤
I had my husband go pick it up...does that count? LOL I had opted not to know the gender until birth, so had an outfit for each I'd seen that I wanted. When she was born, I just had to tell him where to go and describe it. Luckily, it was a small shop she found it easily.
organization vlogs of garage or otherwise is NEVER boring D:
Ooo! You should totally start looking for an old vintage/antique trunk to use as a keepsake box and keep it out as decor so people can open it and look at photo albums and scrapbooks, and another one for the baby's toys! 💗🥰

Did you still use a swaddle even with the nightgown?
There are baby “thrift stores”/consignment shops. Major chain where I am is called Once Upon a Child. Maybe there’s one close to you! Also, ask other friends who’ve had babies! I would not have been bored with a garage organization video for the record! 😝
I do not know if anyone has shared, but gowns are great for newborns and make that nighttime feedings and diaper changes much easier than snaps and zippers. I cannot wait to see your new bundle of joy.
💯 I always get gowns for my newborns

Can confirm this is such a good thing to have it.
A basket works just as well
Kinsley lurking in the background during baby’s clothing haul is cracking me up 😂
I can’t stop looking at her! ❤
It's sad to watch her since she wants to be in on the action. How sad!
Oh I would have loved to watch a full garage organization video!!
I always buy 6 months or 9 months for gifts as it seems like they are in newborn and 3 months for a “few minutes!”
Of course we would love a pop up shop online. I personally buy from Drew so it’s doable. I would just ask the lone fox 🦊 how he orchestrates everything. Kinsley is so darn cute in the background! She is being so patient ❤
I would definitely buy the baby gowns for the first month. You will be so glad you did. They are a lifesaver.
Yes, you have talked about a POP-UP sale/shop and I know many of us have been waiting!❤
I'm glad you made some lemonade out of the slow motion haha. Felt like I was on FaceTime with a friend telling me about her day 😊
Something that I really liked for my baby was gowns for when they sleep cause they are so easy for changing during the night or sleep time.
Love love love your time with him, when he is a baby
The calla lily is leaning like that either because the bulb might not be deep enough in the ground/the bulb may be tilted or it’s trying to reach for the sun. Calla lilies love being in mostly sunny spots, typically the south side.

I loved the unisex baby nightgowns with the elastic bottom. Carters has them too. And yes, 0-3 mos is all that my newborns fit in.
I have a 5 week old and the Old Navy Ribbed sleepers are amazing!!! great solid basic colors and they fit really well!! (plus they are cheap!)

MaCenna, you are so beautiful , just glowing! I really like that green jumpsuit. And yes, I would love you to have an online Pop up shop!🎉

YES Please to the on line "pop up shop". The clothes are adorable. Practicality is key for for sanity lol. Love your channel ! Thank you
"I obviously trust my mom over everyone in life." ❤❤❤ and you shopping for baby clothes just makes my whole world!
omg Kinsley watching you in behind showing the baby clothes was so adorable. Aw, you're still Momma's baby too!
also, receiving blankets and baby washcloths, great things to have. Babies like to be wrapped tightly

You guys are so organized, I love everything you vlog❤ and your new journey, so exciting 💕🐾thank you ☮️👣🥰
Years ago I was flipping throu a Cosmo magazine , and the man that did all their cover shoots had a daughter , when they brought her home her put her into an adult size swim suit and then every year after that took the same picture with her in the same suit untill he hit 21 years old , it was so sweet and wish I had done the same with my three sons .
That should say besotted with her!
You are so beloved by your followers. It was a great video, you always make great videos. I am truly so happy for you and Romeo. You will be an amazing mom!
Best thing we ever did was leave our high chair in the box until our baby needed it! They take up so much space!
Nesting has begun, and I'm here for it.
If there is an option, get the car seats professionally installed.
You crack me up! My oldest is 45 I can still remember all the shopping and how exciting it is I bet your mom is having a fit to get to your side😅
Highly recommend having a small container of diapers in the drawers for easy access, like three or four at a time, just refill as needed. 😀 saved me and my husband from a lot of stress when our daughter started rolling over 😂
Always love seeing you guys❤ you look beautiful blooming in motherhood ❤big love 💕
You look so happy n excited congratulations on your family bundle of joy coming ❤️ 💖 🎉🎉
I literally had my son 5 1/2 months ago and this baby haul is giving me baby fever 😂
You can not go wrong with Carters!! They have soo much to choose from at very reasonable prices! Highly recommend Carters!
It may have been mentioned before, but a bunch of the clothes you bought seem fall and winter and you are having a June baby. Long sleeves are going to be pretty hot.
Romeos mom named him properly. What a sweetheart you have ❤😊
Carters/Oshkosh are great! Old navy has great clothes for babies as well!
Would LOVE an online pop up shop! Would definitely buy 🩵
Yes, I enjoyed this vlog as well❣️It all worked out just fine. 😌 Wow, I can’t believe baby will be here in just 3 months! 🥰
You’ll be sharing things with us old hands that we didn’t know before long 😊
Your videos always make my day!!❤
aww thank you so much!
@@xomacennavlogs also congrats on the baby!! We also have a baby coming in my family!
Old Navy has always been my favorite for solid basic baby stuff! And mine literally lived in cute zipper jammies for the first few months!
Love her !
I would love an on line pop up.!!
I always had a couple PREMIEE clothes just in case and they worked great for the first couple weeks!❤❤❤
Those are Easter lilies! Happy Easter!!! They are so pretty and can be propagated ❤
It is so easy to overbuy for the baby but mostly because they grow out of everything SO fast!!
I loved the Old Navy zip onesies! Make sure you sign up for the different reward programs for the stores! 🙂
Yes to the online popup!
Love thebaby shopping spree that you did the outfits look so cute.
We got a sleep sack and tops that wrapped kimono style. Those were great for their safety. The kimono style tops we got from Chinatown LA. Don’t know if you want to go there.
Years and years of watching her and i still get excited every time she uploads a video 🥺❤️
They have onsies that have a magnetic close instead of snaps and zippers that are a great option too! Don’t have to worry about accidentally zipping them, or finding the snaps at night 🤗
Happy Easter Weekend 🐣 ❤
Happy Easter :)
How exciting getting baby goodies! I wanted to suggest you could attach a cloth diaper holder to the side or sides of the changing table. Or some kind of cloth organizer with pockets for various things for baby. Good luck!
We let my MIL pic our son's going home outfit since she couldn't be with us for that. She felt special.
Keep what you have I needed the newborns for 3 months for most my kids I just make small babies. I always ended up needing more newborns. Elastic waist bands worked better for my babies. Just go with whatever works when baby is here. Love the clothes haul❤❤❤❤
This! I didn’t have small babies I had a 7lb 14oz and a 8lb 3oz baby and both wore newborn for 3-5weeks and actually wore some premie for 2 weeks!
My day just got a whole lot better 🎉🎉
McKenna x Lonefox collection on his site would be great for your trinkets 😍 no worries about putting up a selling website on your side while being preggo and renovating your kitchen… and Drew loves cute pieces, too 🥰
