After locking my center diff the front and rear started clicking. Then the front went bad. Used CA glue and baking soda and locked both. 1 full size and 4 shorty lipo runs and no problems. The 4 diff gear screws are too short, allowing them to back out just enough for the gears to start skipping and making clicking noise. This thing is a beast !!!!!!! I Painted mine red to.
@@chainsaw7887 thanks for the reply,i ended up finding the answer as i scrolled threw your comment section. great video! im currently building a parts collection before i purchase my kit to build ..... so ive been watch alot of great content online.
I thought my front diff had gone on lasernut, front wheel was spinning freely, was about to take it apart ,turned out that hex in the wheel completely rounded 😧
I filed down the rubber piece that the main gear attaches to about 1/16 of an inch and it has worked ever since not a single issue.Sad the pros can't figure this shit out before they release anything.
Mine seems F'd too, maybe 7 or 8 easy runs. A few speed tests on flat ground, climbing a hill slowly, but probably from getting into tall grass and getting wrapped around the axles, front and rear diffs not working right.
BTW I had EXACTLY the same problem as you. Front left would spin. I'd take it apart, put it back together and it would work fine for a pack or two then break again. Diff was fine. I locked it, same issue. I thought I was going crazy. The facebook group thought I was an idiot. I spent 300 bucks on vitavon axle housing. Didnt fix it. I spent another 180 on vitavon knuckles. Didnt fix it. I was then in for about $500 and the stupid thing still didnt work. I was about to sell the damn thing but then I came to the conclusion the front left CVD axle is fractionally too short and locking in the wheel hex was causing it to pop out from the diff after a few runs. I ended up shimming it but you have to get it exactly right to the point where the axle fits into the diff but you can still attach the wheel hex so everything is super tight. Seemed to be fixed but Im now afraid to use it incase it happens again, because then I will really lose my shit, so its now a shelf queen. This may not be your problem but just throwing it out there because its a strange one that nobody else seemed to be having. Maybe its a quality control thing around the tolerances or something. I wasn't using a servo saver btw and I've wrecked 3 servos. I think theres just too much effort required on turning those big wheels, so I bought a hot racing servo saver which seems to have fixed it. Anyway, kudos to you from the channel. It is good to see someone from Scotland who loves the hobby enough. Im from Belfast but live in the states now. Keep it up.
@@theunusualcivilian no video but alll I did was clean out silicon oil with Coleman camp fuel( very careful, ventilated environment) then filled with jb weld. Very easy and honestly a ton more durable than I expected.

The stock shims inside the diff wear out fast and then the spider and side gears strip. I haven't had any issues after locking up all 3 diffs.
what shims can i use to shim the diff? got a part number?
@@jasonanderson7020 I don't have a part number. I had some random shims that happened to be the right size.

Yeah , I ended up locking all my diffs as soon as I found the stock lockers for sale after replacing gesrs twice
Which one's did you end up goin gwith?

I’ve ground down washers so they fit in the diff and leave almost 0 tolerance for play
Think I'll do same man great idea

Update, I contacted horizon about the issue and the are sending me 3 sets of gears under warranty, I have heard they give great service.
Most people end up locking all 3 diffs
im gonna join that club i thing way less hassle ;)

I go full size rock crawling! Lock the diffs and the transfer case! Rock crawling is unforgiving!
The stock shims are useless. They will wear out in 1 run and cause everything to strip out. I locked my kit up with jbweld. 👍🏻
Do you have any video of how to jb weld the middle?
