While this is indeed supposed to be funny, it still shows that there are other interesting and effective ways to convey emptions.
This somber moment in particular was best done with dramatic, rage-filled screams. It really adds a lot, and that's despite being made for the sake of humour.
As such, it clearly has even more potential if taken seriously.
Somber = Silent is just another way to enforce mediocracy, the death of art. (and talent in general)
