I know this is long after the fact, but just wanted to say this was an incredibly helpful video for someone trying to discern which to buy!

Please advise. I bought a brand new Kawai GL40 5’11” grand a few months ago. I love the warm tone, bass and crisp action. But I live in a small Aprtment and my entire dining room is occupied by my Kawai GL40. Would I be happy trading my Kawai GL40 5’11” grand for a more affordable Yamaha YUS5 52” upright? How so would I be content and what might I miss? I play a lot of Chopin and Brahams. A lot of romantic piano. Mostly thinking about it since it would save me some space but not sure. Thank you

@@Gustavo-x8f3q I am not sure whom you asked but my opinion is that an upright piano is always a compromise as far as action is concerned. If you can afford it and be able to manage with a bigger piano at home, keep your GL40 😊

@mfurman Thank you 😃 going in tomorrow to check out the brand new Kawai GX1 they still have as it would reduce the amount of space while still retaining a nice quality grand action and a GL30 Aures 2 that just arrived also brand new to have that silent practice option.
The Bechstein A6 sounded amazing but like you said the action can’t compare to a good grand. Which piano do you have?
