Hey @MDFishTanks can you do a tank with Atya gabonensis (Blue Gabon Shrimp) + Atyopsis moluccensis (Bamboo Shrimp). Optionally adding some tiny swarm fish. KR Devilhope
Hi! I’m from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷, and I just wanted to say that your aquascape beautifully captures the essence of our rivers and landscapes. It feels like a piece of home brought to life in a tank. Amazing work-truly inspiring! Abraço!
I’ve been watching your videos for a good while now. My name is Tayler I’m from America. the tanks You create are just simply beautiful and you have a natural talent for this sort of thing. UA-cam sure is one of your best tools to show everybody else in the world what you can do. Absolutely absolutely love your channel and your tanks and everything you got going on man keep it up and I hope you and your family have a merry Christmas.
I have been watching your videos for 2 years now I got your merch for Christmas and you've inspired me to go down this path I've even made a planted tank of my own and it's going really great! thank you so much you're my inspiration and hero
I tend to do more and more simple "biotope style mix -ish" scapes. Nothing is wrong with fancy aquascapes but when you see the simplicity and beauty of underwater biotopes it will make much more sense.
This is an awesome scape! Fan since the shack in the garden, love your content- I think I’m going to try something similar to this on a much larger scale. Thank you for all the inspiration over the years ❤
Hi Md, I am 14 and have set up a planted tank, but I barely have any plants. I can afford fertilizer, but my plants don't grow well. I have a dirted substrate with a gravel sand mix on top as the cap. I have a little Rotala and some Limnophila. Do I need fertilizers to grow lush, healthy plants?"
They will help for sure. I can notice a big difference in growth rate when I use them. If you have nutrients in your substrate though, minimal algae and your plants don't grow well, it's suggesting to me that the lighting levels need to be increased.
I love the light! You have so many nice quality items that we don't have in the US. I have the current light with the background, but it's not nearly as cool as that one!
Beautiful set up, I currently have some silver tips in with my guppy fry tank. They are underrated fish for sure. They color up beautifully too. You should 100% do that whole fish wall with those backing lights on each tank too 😍
Love the scape and I'm always happy when you put out a new video. I have to admit that the light screens are not for me. They never look natural in my opinion, but to each their own. It is never bad to try new things.
I really enjoyed this video. I felt you explained your thinking behind your choices way better than in other videos that I've watched. I also like the end result very much. One thing I wonder about though, is how these fish would feed in the wild. Obviously, they eat flake in a tank but, I wonder if it is possible to set up and show a more natural way of feeding. I don't know what that would be, you're the expert!
If you take a cutting of the pothos plant and stick it in water, it will grow roots. Meaning, you don't need to pull a section that already has roots, if you don't have one handy.
Bro love all your aquarium setups!! I recently bought two pairs of angelfish for my 2.5feet tank.. But I'm struggling make a planted tank for them. Can you please make a video about it?! Thank you!
I was thinking of setting up a heavily planted 20 long or a 30 gallon tank with about 20 Ember tetras and 6 red Serpae tetras. Will the Serpae be too active for the Embers. I have the serpaes currently, and they chase each other but dont bother any of the other fish they are with. Thank you
Where did you buy the hanger or DIY hanger that you used for the pothos plant above the aquarium?:) Been looking for something clean, whenver i search i get these big black big ones. Yours had been perfect, especially if i could get the hole twice as big for a bigger plant.
Hi MD, I’ve been watching your videos for the past few months, and would really like some advice on a tank, i currently have a 15 gallon, stocked with a black molly lyretail male, 3 regular black molly female’s, two dalmatian molly female’s, a white mickey mouse platy male and a black tuxedo platy, and a dozen of fry (i’m getting new tanks soon to make sure all fish are thriving). I don’t have any hardscape such as rocks and roots hence my love for planted tank’s, i’d realy appreciate if you have any ideas on how to scape my tank to make my plain black and white fish stand out, or something that compliments their natural habitat.
Hey! You should let a propagated plant cutting dry slightly before putting it in water to allow a protective layer (callus) to form over the cut end. This helps prevent rot and encourages healthy root development! Setting up my first tank, it's micro but I've got macro ideas 🦐 🧠 🦐
You are still missing two upgrades, in addition to the Lightground, the 16 cm holder for the LED from Superfish and you should replace the LED directly with the new Scaper LED WRGB
Dude that scape looks awesome. Personally I feel the bright background takes away from the fish. It’s hard to distinguish any detail. I think there needs to be contrast to get a good look at them. P.S do the other 3 tanks thanks.
I’m going to guess it looks better in person, but the light background isn’t working for me in this build. It kinda makes the vallisneria disappear with the green shining through. I’ve seen light backgrounds look incredible when they give a kind of sunset gradient look. Maybe the colour needs to contrast the green of the vallis rather than match it.
Masterful! It gives such a nice look and it really makes for one heck of a way more interesting breeding tank, if you would want to call it that. Probably much more successful as well because the natural environment of the fish is mimicked so they'll feel more, well, in the mood 😃 And that light background thing; man, to see how far the aquarist hobby has come compared to when I first got into it over thirty years ago and all we had then was fluorescent tubes, haha!
i always want a fish tank rack like that, with only one species, or a few species from the same region in each tank, and the tank would be biotope-ish. kinda like the ones in aquarium shops but better.

MD do you buy plants on etsy?? I'm sure you can buy other pothos like variations

Congratulations MD, what an uncomplicated beautiful tank. This is why I've been following/watching since the early days of the pandemic.
I have been watching your videos for 2 years now I got your merch for Christmas and you've inspired me to go down this path I've even made a planted tank of my own and it's going really great! thank you so much you're my inspiration and hero
Watching from Vancouver, Canada. This new tank with the new, back light looks terrific. One of your best yet.
Finally, MD!
Just the right amount of plants. Great fish choice! Silvertips are wild and beautiful.
Keep up the great work!
Привет из России, мне нравится тебя смотреть, аквы очень красивые, так как и тетры, кстати я их тоже держу, они у меня даже нерестились.
As always a splendid outcome, but this one is something extra in it's clean and sleek look. Well done! 😃
I tend to do more and more simple "biotope style mix -ish" scapes. Nothing is wrong with fancy aquascapes but when you see the simplicity and beauty of underwater biotopes it will make much more sense.
Love this scape. Impactful simplicity.
Love this one! The fish look so happy, and the tank is a simple and lovely slice of a river.
An idea you could do for a larger tank is making a uk native tank with uk species such as perch and roach that don't get too big
Love idea of a native tank.
I’ve got stickle backs 😂
Very cool set up. Backing lighting is interesting. Not sure if it’s something I’d do but I love the fact you try different things. Cheers.
Love from India ❤❤❤I want your each and every setup 😅😅😅 I just love your each aquarium 💘💘💘
Val against that light background is 👌
Sliver tips looking really good nice little setup.
This is an awesome scape!
Fan since the shack in the garden, love your content- I think I’m going to try something similar to this on a much larger scale. Thank you for all the inspiration over the years ❤
This is gorgeous MD. Best wishes to you, Kate and your family for the festive season. 🎉
Nice one. Excited to see the rack tanks all properly scaped.

My limnophilia grows crazy with no fertiliser - lighting up a little?
Beautiful tank love it.
Welcome to the hobby buddy!
@@abbieallen717 Sorry but I am not new I have been keeping and breeding fish since I was 12
The hardscape composition is so vibey in the best way
Such a great little tank!
Amazing little scape. Love this one. Thanks for sharing
Looks cool with just being simple planted thanks for the ideas you give me for my tanks 👍
Your content is amazing! I love your videos! Your tanks & fish are so beautiful!
MD hits another home run. Stunning mate.
You're the best and you are the beautiful people/person. Keep doing what you do 🙂
Loving the background light
I love the light! You have so many nice quality items that we don't have in the US. I have the current light with the background, but it's not nearly as cool as that one!
For these natural style builds, would love to see the research materials (photos or small clips) to get an idea of what you’re creating
I love love love this tank… I feel like I could actually make something like this :)
Beautiful set up, I currently have some silver tips in with my guppy fry tank. They are underrated fish for sure. They color up beautifully too. You should 100% do that whole fish wall with those backing lights on each tank too 😍
Are they peaceful then ?
Excellent idea well executed.
From Việt Nam with love ❤❤❤
Amazing setup as always
You should give the world of dwarf cichlids a try. Love this setup, first time seeing a back light.
Maybe could call it a challenge but like the three big continues tanks, try that with a shelf on the wall. Maybe a low stream theme or rice pad field
Look's fantastic great job
Beautiful tank!!
Love the scape and I'm always happy when you put out a new video. I have to admit that the light screens are not for me. They never look natural in my opinion, but to each their own. It is never bad to try new things.

Get sand wet and it will stick. I mean, think of sand castles...lol Another great vid!
I kind of meant like a smeary sticky 😂
simple but beautiful
You could do a pair of Apistogramma in one of the others in a clear or black water setup
If you take a cutting of the pothos plant and stick it in water, it will grow roots. Meaning, you don't need to pull a section that already has roots, if you don't have one handy.
When you get into fish keeping you either become a aqua scaper or a fish breeder.
Yay Negative Space!!!!
do you have a link for the backscreen light?
The lighting looks like the background from a Star Trek episode.
Nice RECAP the part of mixing the substrate 😂
Actually really love how simple this scape is! Works really well with the silver tips. Fingers crossed for some spawning. What sized tank is that?
Very nice!
Bro love all your aquarium setups!!
I recently bought two pairs of angelfish for my 2.5feet tank.. But I'm struggling make a planted tank for them. Can you please make a video about it?! Thank you!

So much better with light backgrounds that painted black.
Let go MT fish tanks
What is the rock on the far right of the shelf at 9:50 ? I have a ton of it but I'm afraid to use it bc of the rust color on it.
Hi from mars!!👋
Was hoping you’d start doing some more “biotope” aquariums
Oh that's cool I want a backlight! Where can I get one from?
Put a "bridge" to connect each one so the fish can travel to them all.
Hi MD,
I’ve been watching your videos for the past few months, and would really like some advice on a tank, i currently have a 15 gallon, stocked with a black molly lyretail male, 3 regular black molly female’s, two dalmatian molly female’s, a white mickey mouse platy male and a black tuxedo platy, and a dozen of fry (i’m getting new tanks soon to make sure all fish are thriving).

What type of fish 🐟 is chunks!?!?!?! ❤
You are still missing two upgrades, in addition to the Lightground, the 16 cm holder for the LED from Superfish and you should replace the LED directly with the new Scaper LED WRGB
MD, what do I do with stem plants that grow roots in the top, do I trim or cut the roots off??
I don’t I just leave them it’s natural 😊
Dude that scape looks awesome. Personally I feel the bright background takes away from the fish. It’s hard to distinguish any detail. I think there needs to be contrast to get a good look at them. P.S do the other 3 tanks thanks.
I'm curious what a black water tank would look like with a light background
I’m going to guess it looks better in person, but the light background isn’t working for me in this build. It kinda makes the vallisneria disappear with the green shining through. I’ve seen light backgrounds look incredible when they give a kind of sunset gradient look. Maybe the colour needs to contrast the green of the vallis rather than match it.
agreed. looks better without the lightscreen.
So cool
i always want a fish tank rack like that, with only one species, or a few species from the same region in each tank, and the tank would be biotope-ish. kinda like the ones in aquarium shops but better.
I've got a question for you. what is the smallest tank you would recommend for shrimp!!!
Mine is 6gal but in my opinion, a 4gal minimum would be a good start
Good ❤

silvertip tetras are like sharks. Got rid of them though, too territorial. breeding behavior is fun as they zip around the tank chasing females and dueling males. I like the style of the tank, the background light gives it a feel, kinda like Tai's biotope tanks
Don't wanna be rude, BUT... At 18:08 you had something unique. You should have left it like that. It looked like an oasis in the desert. Really cool. But then you decieded to ruin it with more plants and stones ;)

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!
The tetras look so comfortable in their new setup! You can’t ever go wrong with the tried and true Jungle Val and Dwarf Chain Sword. Those 2 have become staples in all my tanks because they’ve brought me an endless plant supply, I just trim and replant it a different tank
Build a riparium!!
It doesn't pass a couple of months that he already wants to change tank 😂
Lmao! Love it!
Yes I’m finally first to watch it amazing video Md
Hii professor
What's your name
Loving your use of the English language. Bulbous and prongy. Outstanding!!! 😂
❤
Background lights are well expensive
Get a patent on that clip
9 mins ago is crazy for me 😂
do a futuristic style tank.... I dare you!
Why don't you just cover all the floor of your tanks in case you do want to plant there? I know you do most of the time - but why not with this tank?
