About 2 weeks ago, @FishShopMatt messaged me saying "pea puffer aquarium?" and I instantly replied "YES!"...Now, I did think he meant a little nano with a couple of fish or something like that. But it quickly evolved into a 330L tank with 100 Pea Puffers haha. We went for something very different on this one, trying to create a cool perspective effect with the bog wood. I think it turned out pretty cool and the pea's seem to love the structure.

Hi Md, super random but in my eco shrimp tank there is some small white organism hopping oround. They look like shrimp larvae but im not sure that it is shrimp larvae. Pls help

MD, never underestimate the value of the friendship you have with Fish Shop Matt. To have a fish friend to enjoy the hobby is worth it's weight in gold! I miss the friends I had in the hobby growing up.

Matt is probably the first person i've met in real life that has been into fishtanks (local of course). This was all because he stopped me when I left the shop one day and just started chatting. I didn't realise he knew the channel until we had been talking for ages so that's when we started talking about doing filming together and we just went from there. We are also both massive geeks as well so it's inevitable that we get along.
@@MDFishTanks Treasure the relationship! Having real world fish friends is a real treat - and something that should never be under valued! I haven't spoken to mine since childhood. In any event the two of you guys on screen is magic! I think most people feel this way given the comments!

I recently set up a 40 breeder in my office at home. It was my first time really trying on an aquascape. My kid told me it looks like one of the tanks on youtube that I watch. It was such a great compliment, and in my mind he means it looks like MD's tank, lol.

Absolutely love when you and Matt do videos together!! It blows me away watching this in Australia where a single pea puffer sells for upwards of £120, sometimes as high as £170 per fish! It’s so fun to see such a big group together, such interesting little fish!

As a pea puffer nerd, i totally agree with their association with glowlight danios. Perfect combo. Too fast to be fins nipped, so active they stop intra-puffer agressions, and not too much eager to eat so puffer still have food to dance around.
Tried many associations with pea puffers. Glowlight danios are the best.

Love it and I'm in love with the cute fishes. I always see them in my store and I'm always watching them for a couple of minutes. I will one day own them but for now my good old betta will live out his life. He's 3 years old already and still going! He always comes forward toward the glass when he sees me. Fishes that act like puppies always get me. Thanks for inspiring me for my future (smaller) tank!

Glad to see this store get Pea Puffers, I normally have to go to the blackdown garden centre to get mine, but alas! Good to see maidenhead stocking them too, my favourite kind of fish at the moment, I have 3 office tanks and these little babies are in 2 of 3 tanks, to soon be moved into my bigger office tank (if they decide to play nice!)

Just about to set up a puffer tank, great inspiration, definitely the look I had in my head, off to my local Maidenhead Aquatics, (Hawley garden centre, Dartford, guys there are great too) this weekend to collect my order!
I know it’s an older video but I’m so glad you decided to wash the gravel! We buy those bags for landscaping purposes and they are always SOOO dirty and dusty. It doesn’t really matter for outside but in a tank, umm I was scared for a minute when you said you weren’t going to wash them!

Amazing video! I don't like the drilled bottom. I am sure the in- and outlets are safe, but i had some leaking filters in the past therefore I prefer traditional U-shaped outlet with a small hole just a few cm below the water level so air can enter and interrupt the siphon... The difference between 20 and 300 litres is significant if its on your floor!

the fluval 07 series of filters are really nice, so modular and user friendly. word of advice if you want to use carbon in them though, don't buy the fluval carbon refills, just buy a tub of filter carbon and put some in a filter bag, it's so much cheaper and does the exact same thing.

I’ve been using the fluval 307, a step smaller than the one you’re using, and if I ever put up my other 55g again I’m using that filter for it too. It’s been running my community for around 2 years and I hardly have to even clean it. Never had any problems and if the power flickers it just starts right back up.

Just to give an option most people don’t think about is the styrofoam can be recycled to make a sound proof box for air pumps. Enjoy the hobby everyone
great idea (re)using cheap gravel inside baggies, i will totally do that with my current redesign, to rise the bed and get more pronounced elevation at the center of comp.
I like the modern version of the fluval roma, I like the through the tank inlet and outlet. Asking santa for that one, might have to do more than sit on his lap
During the next @mdfishtanks and @fishshopmatt collab, I’d love to see them do the entire build where MD has to speak in an American accent and Matt has to do Australian. I think it would be hilarious to listen to them bounce hardscape and design ideas off each other while trying to keep their accents.

What this tank truly needs is a gazilion different kinds of kuhli loaches. I absolutely lo ve them (40+) in my tank with glowlight danios xD. They are also awesome!

I had to sell my tank during Covid but seeing this I 100% am wanting to buy one of these tanks and do pufferfish tank. I had a 50l figure 8 puffer tank back in day too and love puffers.
