Apparently this is a common problem with the 2014-2016 Toyota corolla's, reliable cars, but crapy paper speakers and aluminum wires. There should be a recall. Here in Canada I just took my car to visions and had new front speakers/tweeters installed. Took them 90 minutes. They sound is great, better than original speakers. Total cost for the speakers and install about 500$. happy with my decision.
Amazing video hands down. So what was wrong with those speaker wires,, just corroded at the connector? My sister has a 2021 Toyota Corolla and she said that the rear speakers don't work even trying balance the radio sound from balance to the rear and no sound from the rear speakers at all. So could it be that the wires need work on just like what you did to this car in this video? I"m down for doing the same thing to her car like what you did in this video. Thank you for posting this video for us all to watch.
@davidsmith4654 - This video is an issue of the front speakers on the 11th generation Toyota Corolla (this one is 2015) using aluminum wires instead of copper. Your sister has a newer model, check first if the rear speaker are OK, then proceed with the wiring… then the amplifier (if it has the JBL system)…then the main unit...
I have the same problem here in Austria (Europe). The only difference the car is called "Auris" here. Actually the speakers are quite good but to have a defect of the speaker after just 9 years is unusual for Toyota. In the past, none of my toyotas had these issues (it´s my third Toyota).
This is only a temporary fix. The real issue is that water leaks into the door panel and corrodes the speaker wire. It will happen again after this repair.

Unreal. Looks like I'll be doing the same.
Thank you. I did this repair. It cost me nothing but time. 👍👍
Thank you for this video. I am about to tackle my passenger side door speaker. I'm going in a lot more confident after watching this video
Did it work? I’m about to try and tackle this too

Can clean or replace connector but will corrode again. Better to solder wires to speaker and insulate.
That's the plan here. Maybe revise the wiring and connector orietnation so the connector is not a "water bucket".
Did they break again?
