In private she would be like any woman, have good and bad days, need lots of support and encouragement, like we all do really. I always thought her failure to find romantic happiness is down to the men who have the wealth and connections to meet her socially, they cannot see beyond their own egos. They don't want Agnetha Faltskog. They want the blond out of ABBA, and when they discover she isn't this sweet, melancholy girl they don't like it. I always thought her failure to find romantic happiness is down to the men who have the wealth and connections to meet her socially, they cannot see beyond their own egos. They don't want Agnetha Faltskog. They want the blond out of ABBA, and when they discover she isn't this sweet, melancholy girl they don't like it. In As I Am, she says she is a tiger under the blond hair, and her claws come out, there's an interview too, where the interviewer asks about decision making in ABBA, and then who backed down first if the decision wasn't unanimous. Agnetha said "Not me." and I feel that says it all. I'm a dedicated Agnetha follower, but I'd never go to look for her in Sweden like some have done.
It breaks my heart thinking how she has been treated over the years, and how careful she has to be.
