- A few months ago we got this $2500 Mustang Md-250 2wd Chassis dyno, between the old hardware and software we were not able to get it working as smoothly as we would have liked. Thats when i came across the Perek Dyno Controller!

Trevor should start a "can i flip it" series
And say it like wheel---- of---- fortune!!!!
He already tried and got demotivated
I'm an IT girl and we use all-in-one monitor/keyboard/mouseball combo stations for servers racks.
You could very possibly attach a pole to the dino, attach with a swivel arm to the pole via a clamp and to bring the controls directly to the window of the car.
well, yes, but you can also use wireless technologies like video transmitter/receiver combo, or just a monitor mount having the monitor in front of a windshield and keyboard with you in the car. Btw is dyno not dino.
Dont forget to vent that box. I assume it needs a fan just like a normal PC.
This ^ the case they had it in had a vent fan, make sure you provide some way for it to actually exhaust, otherwise you'll probably lose the SDCard or whatever storage they put in it.
as of now we will open the box when we are running it, if we have issues we can move it later down the road
@@MotionAutoTv Cut a little hole in the side and use some self tappers to add a little PC fan no big job!
If/when you remove the bolts from the lift to move it, make sure to immediately plug the floor mount threaded inserts . They will get dust and dirt in them and make it impossible to thread in the bolt again even if you blow it out with compressed air. Disposable ear plugs work really well for this.
I’d just put the bolt back in the hole.
pls do a quick paint job for the dyno 👍
Greetings from Poland!
This feels like a good old motion auto video. I know Trev mentioned that the explanation up front was information overload, but thats the detailed information that i like to watch.
Some of the youtuber videoa that are "look at my stuff" is getting old
Appreciate it!
That’s a steal. Glad you had the ingenuity to figure it out! Always a great video guys
Poland is not fuckiny around when it comes to tech and drifting ! Respect guys ! Tell nightride and Adam from htg I said wassup
Damn, i didn't even realize that 40 minutes had gone by. Really enjoyed learning about this.
strapping tip for dyno'ing fwd cars, strap chassis and control arm, 4 straps, subrame and control arms move so much on FWD cars they can wander all over,
strapping frame lets suspension move, and strapping suspension sometimes lets the rest move.
for when you need some confidence on a FWD turbo car just give er those strap points.
awesome to see it working for you instead of against you now
Thats one clever guy in poland, i was hopping you would grease all those bearings well done trev.& i think the elctronics will need a cooler that big capacitor will get hot.
Yeah we might end up moving some stuff in the future, we did grease it all up before we put the covers back on everything tho!
information overload, primer and barbie jeep's. That's what we're here, for my man..
Great video Trevor and the boys,
The Dyno controller seems great and and looks like a great company to work with, great support,
Good luck
Dave from the UK
Get some air flow though that box, the computer will cook in a sealed box
Something to note; the load cell could be out of calibration from modifying the threads. I made a similar modification to one in the past and it had to be re-calibrated. In my application (engine dyno) it needed to be NIST traceable so I had to send it out, but you can probably just rig up a torque arm with a known weight over a few points along the range of the sensor to verify it's results still match the cal sheet. It's often easier to vary the torque arm length as opposed to increasing the weight to hit the desired points and that way you can do and end-to-end-as-installed calibration.
Having said that it's moot since no two dynos are ever the same in how they measure so as long as it's repeatable then send it.
We are looking at building an arm to do a torque arm like that
Agree, for a very precise application, the different threads can probably change the calibration of the cell. For a chassis dyno in a "home shop", it probably doesn't matter if the torque reading is off by a percent or so, since it should be completely repeatable.
Hell yeah Trevor!!! Dyno vids incoming!!!
We love seeing Trevor excited. What an awesome result, don't mind you going through all the details, it's actually really, really cool 👌
I am glad to hear that you called Brent for advice on the dyno. He loves to help people go fast.
I worked with those mustangs all day every day while working at an emissions testing facility.
Pro tip, get the front wheels on the rollers, drop the rollers, put chocks in front of the rear wheels, then just let the car idle in first gear. The car will self center on the rollers. Then strap it down.
Definitely one of your better videos for sure. Super great to take a defunct piece of machinery and make it work with the latest and greatest electronics. What is the price difference between Mustangs stack and what you bought. The convenience alone of know how its set up vs having ot call mustang is huge. Cant wait for some dyno runs with cars that you already know the data on for accuracy comparison. Keep the info coming.
This whole setup was a little more then 2k
Perek seem like they’ve got their systems dialled. Had a look on their web page, doesn’t seem overly expensive either 👌🏻🙂
Hey Trev Awesome video mate, glad you got it sorted..
Long time subscriber 😂 since first giveaway or before, watched every video posted since...
Keep it up bud.
Old Boy from Australia 😂
Appreciate it!
Great one ty. I let a few video stack then watch them all like a tv series. So worth it
Don’t be sorry for the information overload. It was very interesting and informative. Good stuff. Thank you for that.
get a monitor arm and mount it to the lift then u can swing it up to the window
need to put some holes on that box, things will overheat if you don't.
Trevor with a dyno good work buddy 👍🏻
Great job fixing the dyno!
You should get a monitor arm and bolt it to the 4 post lift, so you could see it from the car
I’m a new subscriber and man I’m enjoying each and every video Trevor amazing stuff
Looks like a sick bit of kit. I think I'd team viewer the dyno from a second laptop, or maybe just from a tablet or phone that you could suction cup to the windscreen and remote in. Love that you can Bluetooth all the obd as well, very intuitive.
Great job....!!!! Keep it going cause you deserve it....!!!
I once had a Honda Civic 5 gen coupe, I replaced the engine there with a b18c4, it drove beautifully. You inspire me with your videos to go back to that car, so far there are no funds to buy a base, I see that a lot has changed, for example, it is quite easy to adopt a 4-wheel drive there. As soon as funds allow, I have to buy a Honda again and do a similar one project for the one I had..
I think the keyboard you are looking for is the logitech K400 its like 30$ Has on off switch and its the track pad built into the keyboard.
Goodluck and im glad to see this thing working. Ill be honest I was wondering if it would have been sold before it got working.
I just ordered that Keyboard, thanks for the part number! If we would have had to spend a bunch of money on a new controller we would have probably sold it instead haha
That's sick!
I want to build an AWD dyno soon! Can't wait!
Greetings from Poland 😊
This is sick!!! dyno everything!!!
I like the information overload!
Should get that thing all cleaned up neat and clean, Paint the case of the dyno etc. Make the dyno area look good, rent it out to others, take care of your own cars.....then you have the nice paint booth area too.... be a one stop shop soon.
Thanks a lot Charles.
Guys, you should perhaps think to get some filtered air blowing through that box with the computer and stuff. Especially when using the brake on the dyno because that heatsink is there for a reason ... Otherwise you might fry your computer... It may even be wiser to put the capaciter and eddy-brake controller in a different box...
I’ll have to let Hunter from Hunter Tuned about your new setup. He has an old mustang dyno and might want your gear for spares. Then again he might just want the new setup for his as well.
Very interesting video.
Thanks for the knowledge dump.
Trevor make a mount and mount a tv to the 4post lift
I see your getting closer to a mil in subs. ❤❤❤🎉🎉
Love it. Awesome use of a PI
sweet phenix connectors. now your speaking my language.
That USB + Ethernet ports layout looks like a Raspberry Pi. BEHOLD THE POWER OF OPENSOURCE
The hp seems good for stock k20 on mustang in high altitude.
Congrats on getting the dyno going, now you start messing around with your tunes!
Ah the altitude. I was wondering cause my old Type S with exhaust put down 190 on a Mustang.
That dyno needs a Trevy customs paint job. You might as well make the whole thing nice.
Incredible job figuring that out. Most people even car guys have no idea what's going on there.
60" tv for monitor! or bigger. on a rolling stand. or up desk on wheels.. Mustang on the dyno next. And finish the Godzilla mustang!!!
never cease to amaze me I love the videos I’m glad to see that thing on the Dino
19:00 that’s the way to do it 💯
Can't wait for the dyno pulls! Love this trevor
Id imagine this controller probably runs off of a raspberry pi. If it does, its pretty genius to shrink the stack that much just from a space perspective,
Get with Jack man! He know those dynos
This looks really rad!
You should raptor liner the dyno black!
Love the video trevy class to learn about this stuff with you guys 👌🏼
Nice work on getting the dynamic setup with today's standards of technology.
Looking forward to seeing how much power the k awd civic makes❤
Awesome video as usual . Full support from trinidad 🇹🇹 would love to see you get your hands on a mitsubishi vr4 galant since no once seems to be making videos on them
Awesome video! Thank you very much for the information.
This is the kinda nerd shit I wanna see. The information overload was definitely welcome. I want my own dyno someday. Excited for the next video where we see this thing put in the ground! Hahaha.
looking at those connection ports on the side of your controller... if you open that thing up, you're gonna find a Raspberry Pi 4. It's a little single board computer that runs Linux great and cost about $100.
People use them for all kinds of things, from retro gaming, to controlling electric bikes and skateboards, to running hydroponic set ups, and making 3d printers and such. Looks like your guy got some, added software, and put it in a housing with connections to the in/out pins.
It's got built in Bluetooth and will hook to your wi-fi.
HA! got further in your video and IT IS a RaspPi 4. Hilarious. Those things are great
Yo bro, coming to realize I always thought you were smart, but you are really smart
Looking forward to more dyno videos. Maybe you can check a car with a similar local mustang dyno to see if there is any difference in calibration.
With the can setup, you should be able to do mbt timing tuning!
Just hold the car at one speed and throttle position with the dyno, play around with the timing, see what produces the most torque - no CAN input to the dyno needed. That input is neat, but really not needed for mbt timing tuning..
You might have a problem with wheel spin on high HP FWD cars as when the car starts to make power and pull forward on the dyno it will be reduced the pressure that the tyre has on the roller that is applying the load and results in wheel spin.
Buy a 60 inch TV for the dyno. Good for videos
Hell yeah man can’t wait to see some of the stuff you do with this👌🏻
Awesome work
Mount a radiator fan onto it with a door you can flip open
You need a big screen tv like Brent has and then no monitor at all. Just a blue tooth keyboard in the car.
Can’t wait for a 7.3 mustang on the mustang dyno. Is that project scrapped because of the motor mounts because if so I highly recommend just getting the v8 subframe so you can use oem Coyote parts to mount it. And the hood will fit.
Fucking game changer!!! You can dyno a car every day of the month.
Trevor eating tater chips watching employee tapping part, goals 😂
I love it .great info and video
That’s awesome Keep up the good work
Now u can charge for dyno session plus dyno tune all ur own cars plus ur friends car
Lol Trev Got the Flux Compasotior From the DeLorean just wait people when that babybgets up to 88mph😅
Love the video! Thanks
Love this video!!!!
nice work ! all them new polish electronic in your new amazon box dont get hot / need any airflow !?!?!? i so would cut 2 holes into the box and install @ least 2 PC fans .....
Loved this 👍
Now get the Foxbody on that beauty ❤
Would that cabinet box need some sort of exhaust fan?
Theres some crazy smart people in poland.
this is great!
Can wires should be twisted
Love these videos
Brother is running a cream pie OS on the dyno PC lol
Curious. Do most aftermarket ECU's come with an OBD2 port? I want to modify my car but my county does OBD2 emission testing.
please ventilate that box. filtered inlet and outlet fan.
Would this work with a Dyno jet ? Sorry if I missed it! 39:40
It should make more power than that. Maybe something else needs to be set properly on the dyno. Thats what id expect from a k20a3 haha.
what was wrong with the old load cell?
Do you think a fan is needed in the Dyno box?
Firsties! Let's go Trevie's customs
Hey man I have a big question no one can seem to answer do you have any time I would like to know if you can answer this question for me and it’s about a Honda
