Thank you all for watching. Dr. white is my sister and she is simply amazing! We are a family of Agriculture majors and we all encourage more minorities to go into agriculture. Annually we speak to youth about different careers and I have to say the opportunities are limitless. My niece that you see in this video wanted to follow her aunt’s (me) footsteps in food safety initially; however, she has found her own lane in what she see herself doing in the field of agriculture. I am very proud of my big sister Dr. White and my family as a whole.
I feel Dr. White’s pain! It’s so hard to get Black students into Agriculture. It’s like farming or simply being outside is so “wrong” for Black students to do. It’s hard being a Black Ag teacher in middle school. We have to get people to stop associating Ag with slavery as Black folk in America. Agriculture will forever be the first career of man.
I see a huge growth of young Black Americans making their way back to agriculture! And that’s rewarding to see. I pray much success to you as you continue to teach and the young Black American children grew enthused with a desire to continue their ancestor’s rich agrarian history!
Born and raised in Arkansas for a lot of adolescent years. Used to hate it cause it was so boring but I miss the nature and the sound of the mosquitoes so bad lol
Im sooo sick and tired of racism and black apalogetics. Im a land management consultant and ive neve met or seen a black farmer. I have however seen 76,459 blacks liotering around in front of lioquor stores and gas stations.
@XXmtdna yeah. Let's go back 22 thousand years to right All the wrong everywhere for every reason.for every group of people. Or just give black people free money and call it even.
Seems like you'll need to do some soul searching & look inward, because the only racism I see is *heavy* in your comment. Go pretend its 1950 somewhere else if you don't plan on listening to the educational video you clicked on.
The number one rice in the USA was UNCLE BENJAMIN..... But they didn't want his image on the brand. Why? I have no clue....and this black FARMER was one of the best in RICE cultivation..... It sells pretty well here in Puerto Rico... Do we have some type of short memory loss?
What a racist thing to say. The liquor stores on every corner speaks to the priorities of the government giving grants to minorities to setup shop in Black communities with littering them with liquor stores instead of grocery stores or actual businesses to employ the Black residents of the communities they live in.
Thank goodness for people like Dr. White.
I’m so happy I found this. Protect Dr. white at all costs.

So cool. I am a city raised Black older lady who just started doing part time work on a mid-western farm. I loved watching this.
I really enjoyed this video! it put things in perspective when it comes to agriculture
There is Dry Land Rice Varieties. Thank you, Dr White for your work and passion!

Excellent...Im in GA looking at land daily and brain storming
Excellent video on an important topic.
Farmers are the first to take care of our land but often the last to be taken care of by us.
Yeah, and just damage uncle Benjamin's rice, why want to take his image OFF the brand? I have no IDEA.....
@@haroldfrets5468 We're talking about real people here so please keep your culture war BS to yourself.
