Great comfort & handling, never had any problems or repairs (just normal PMS outside casa & change battery) once a year PMS. Now im planning to sell it, with current prices of it is around 850k to 950k tops.while the 2018 Hilux 4x4 AT is currently around 1.1M to 1.2M tops.. That being said, resale value of toyota is still top. But, i will still opt to get the new ranger. For me, comfort of my family is still priority especially on long drives.. its a night & day difference..
Both are great trucks but obviously made from different stand points. Hilux is strictly a work vehicle, no extra things that can break on you. No giant screen that may not work in dirty situations, USB ports out in the open, or overly electronic steering that will make things a nightmare if it goes out. Hence why in Japan, it can only be registered as a work vehicle, not a passenger vehicle. On the flip side, looking at the conveniences of the Ranger show that this truck was made for more recent demands involving outdoor hobbies rather than a utility truck. Comfort, conveniences, all the bells and whistles that make the journey to a campsite nice. So how can you compare the 2 without seriously considering their uses. I would choose Hilux if I wanted a work horse, and would pick the Ranger for an outdoors weekend warrior.
Well for me since i work a lot ofcurse i need a truck that makes me comfortable while going to work and going back home, you know life is a matter of choice wether you want to be happy and confortable all the time or sad be miserable all the time, and the price says the big practicality. I'll get the Ranger every fucking time. Forget about the Toyota Hilux, all they can offer is an old advertisement of a 90's Hilux being beaten up. The Ranger is the perfect pickup truck for daily, hauling and off-roading.
Ford Ranger for comfort, build quality, looks, proven and tested for reliability (not as reliable as toyota obviously). Hilux for reliability and workload only and maybe looks. Me and my friend took his conquest offroad on rocky terrains, it was so uncomfortable and made me almost vomit and when we got back in the city I can already hear rattles inside the cabin from all those offroading, it just tells in terms of build quality that it has a cheaper built interior materials. BUT off course the engine is reliable 😁
I really love the new ranger design. Overall it's a good pickup truck. But, what is up with Ford with OVER BOOST? Over boosting the engine will shorten its life.
You guys are looking for comfort but these are not designed for that purpose and if ever it is a give away. These pickups are used for hauling stuffs and not people.

All cars break down, it's all depend on how you use it, if you take care your car properly it will last long but if you don't then it won't last long. Advantage of Toyota is the resale value because of its reputation as reliable and dependable and availability of parts. Labor and cost of maintenance almost the same. Ford advantage is its tech features more up to date and it's reliability.
I knew someone who used to work for Ford in Mindanao I will not tell where exactly as a parts man and later as an agent not just an agent but one of the best agents... He bought a Toyota Innova instead.

The Hilux feels antiquated against virtually every other pickup - might be reliable for sure but why does Toyota think it’s ok to sell such old fashioned rubbish for those prices?
11 years ago, I chose between Strada and Hilux. Hilux's interior looks like it was designed by my grand father... Specs and features doesn't feel like it's worth its price. So I ended up with the Strada. My Strada worked everyday with almost no fail... Almost, 'cos there was that one time when the clutch gave up, though that's on me cos I already saw it coming and I just brushed it aside. And on a manual transmission, clutch is gonna guaranteed wear off eventually. Mine took 10 years before it did. Last May, I looked for an upgrade. I was hoping for a new Strada, but it wasn't out yet and I too impatient to wait. So I went back and took a peek of the Hilux, and it still looked like it was designed by my grandfather... Even after 11 years. Lol. And at that price? Then I looked at Ford Wildtrak. And it was worth every darn peso. Longer warranty, and cheaper periodic maintenance. 👍👍👍
If you want comfort with unexpected troubles go with ford- and if you're looking for durability and peace of mind while driving go with toyota; the choice is yours.
What do you mean by durability? I own toyota hilux rogue and next gen wildtrak ranger..ranger is the best in all aspects.only use hilux on heavy load cause thats hilux do.
With my money... I would go for the Hilux. Just looking and comparing the re-sale value of these two pick-ups would tell you which is worth the money 5-10 years from now.
you can spend 2 million on a car yet you think about the resale value after 5-10 years, while the new cars on that time would be miles ahead in technology

@@randolfabad759 I've been noticing your comments and tbh the logic is not quite high. You buy a car to get from point A to point B. MAJORITY of car buyers have this mindset. If i want tech... then I will get a tablet, a phone, etc. The number one factor people look into buying a car is price. And speaking of re-sale. Just take a look at marketplace. The price of a 2012 hilux is way higher and holds its end compared to rangers. Another thing... you based your comment on looks... need i say that looks are subjective. And for me... the current hilux looks better than the ranger. Ps: there's a reason the hilux is the number 1 pick up in the Philippines.
I also don't think that your logic is high saying "If I want tech, then I will get a tablet, phone". Will a phone gets you to point A to point B. I also won't say that majority of car buyers will buy a car to get from point a to point b since if that's the case, then most people will buy a sedan, or a van for bigger families or even a bong-go truck, but no. If manufacturers would charge as much as 2M+, then most buyers would expect that it has most if not all the tech features of a modern car. Yes, tech can be a bit more sensitive to durability but as time goes by, it would eventually become better. My father owns a toyota and I could also testify that it's durability and reliability is really the best in its class, unfortunately, it lags behind other manufacturers when it comes to tech features. And yes, I agree that mid-income buyers would prefer longevity over tech and pero may ibang buyers din na they also look at the tech features when they buy a car. Basically, kanya-kanyang preferences lang yan and the comparo between the new gen ranger and the facelift hius grs is somewhat unfair given na new gen ang ranger, hence, it would have better tech features, well, actually the grs hilux is almost at par with the ranger. If you still have a car or you're not eager to buy a new car, then it's best to wait for the new gen hilux in 2-4 years probably, I hope next year meron na talaga. For some buyers, they buy a car that they would enjoy and use and for some, they want a high resale value pero for me lang, bat mo iisipin yun resale value considering na a brand new car would depreciate its value once nakalabas na ng casa. Cars are not investments unless gagamitin pang negosyo. Saka kahit anong sasakyan cguro mataas resale value basta naalagaan ng owner. Just my cents hehe. Stay safe mg bossing

do you get the V6 in the ranger for Philipines that would make the Ranger faster

Pagdating sa technology dun sa ford ranger pero pag dating sa durability sa toyota hilux
Right, doing an acceleration and brake test on a non paved dirt road is just what you need to really see how fast the pick up can go and stop.. in a place where tire traction is key.. 😂
Kanya kanya kc tayo ng gusto, pareho naman na maganda yan or any other brand na pick up,depende lng talaga sa tao kung anu gusto niyang pick-up😊
Hilux in Africa always wins...toyota keeps on going
I'll get the Ranger every fucking time. Forget about the Toyota Hilux, all they can offer is an old advertisement of a 90's Hilux being beaten up.
The Ranger is the perfect pickup truck for daily, hauling and off-roading.
Why didn't you use the 3.0 ford, or the 2.4 hilux
value id give to hilux. pag resale value sobrang layo. i recently sold my 2016 wildtrak, sobrang baba ng price compared sa same model ng hilux
why didnt you use the turbo mode of the grs? has significant speed boost when turbo mode is on
Consider tires as well atlist for reference next time!
Still when your stressed out and you still have passengers you need comfort

Ford ranger is the best in comes to features. 👍👌

The road is uphill and off road for how manny kilometers. The test they are showing is not the BIG TEST as they are saying put a 1ton load as the Cordellieran's farmers and miners doing to there pick up climb a hill thats the real test and there you will see real purpose of pick up and the answer why they preferred hilux than other pick up.

He bought a Toyota Innova instead.
cars you buy depends on your lifestyle needs. It is as simple as that. if you live in the mountains,, would you buy a ferrari?? not because you're a ford agent ,, youll buy a ford..

@@jojonepomuceno7349Exactly. And it depends on your budget. If your budget is 1m-1.5m then you have many family members so i would prefer Innova. Wala ka naman mabili na 1-1.5m na MPV sa Ford with 7-8 seating capacity.
FORD is still the best in SUV and PICK UP Category…Toyota is very expensive but the interior and tech is very affordable.bbbooooo toyota
True. Basw model Rangel XL haa ford pass and diff lock
I'm a Toyota user. Napapangitan ako sa Hilux at Fortuner ng interior nila almost magkamukha wala man lang unique style interior.
Pick up is all about ability to go anywhere and not breakdown and rangers are not realiable loads of them come into the garage.
Not a ford fanatic. Ford is the winner in looks, performance and comfort. Toyota lover here but unfortunately hi lux is not my choice. Peace!

I've been noticing your comments and tbh the logic is not quite high.
You'd already bought a new car after 5 years though
