Grim Dawn in 2022 still is one of greatest game that can be played on Steam. It grants an incredible amount of hours and an variety of build possibilities like no other game has ever had

So many good game in this list! I loved playing Torchlight 2 and Titan Quest! I'm so happy to find out about The Slormancer! I'll definitely add to my wish list!
Thumbs up. See, this is the type of video I enjoy the most: one which gathers a bunch of titles from ONE specific game genre (Diablo-esque, in this case). Wrote down 2 or 3 names from this list to buy later too, so, thanks.
I know you've done several of these in the past, but, I'd still vote for you ADM to do more 2022 examples of such lists: one video for "Survival/Crafting", another for "Couch Co-op", "RTS Tactics", "First person Shoot them up" and so on. Compilations like these attract specific viewers because of specific tastes in gaming, so everybody wins.

Book of Demons was such a big surprise game for me. I did not expect it to be as fan as it is. Slormancer is also incredibly cool.
It's a divisive one but I like Book of Demons as well!
Great list. I see many of my favorites in here. V Rising is a game I have just gotten into so I am learning the mechanics of the game it looks very promising though.

Sacred 2 is one I prefer.
For me personally the number one thing a Diablo Style game has to have is Ragdoll physics/Giblets, I couldn't vibe with POE because the enemies play the same death animations after a wile and it is hard to see the true impact of spells and hits. Meanwhile in Grim Dawn I can wallop a lowly Zombie with my Giant 2 handed mace and see him go into Orbit!!! ESSENTIAL in my eyes.
It's funny because when I see ragdolls I see a clown fiesta that has nothing to do with impact.
@@clemenscohn7371 When Ragdoll is done right it is Incredible. Whithout some kind of physics and the bodies drop in one place? Psssh not realistic when we are talking powerful blows.

@@clemenscohn7371 OH BULLSH*T! GT5 has Extremely realistic Ragdolls! I have seen great Ragdoll effects in many other titles.
Also your Opinion of Ragdoll physics is in the minority, Like maybe 10% of gamers dislike Ragdoll physics.
You sound insane not liking ACTUAL physics in games...... "Nah I would rather the enemies play the same Death/KO animations over and over" 🙄

ragdoll =/= actual physics. Stop digging your grave. Actual physics are fine. Ragdoll is not.
And yes, curated animations are better than a clown fiesta. Because contrary to your statement a clown fiesta does not increase immersion, it takes away immersion.
Some top games that are dungeon-crawler like Gauntlet (multiplayer) would be good to see too if possible.

I wish we got a good modern sequel to torchlight 2, it was the only top down diablo like rpg I ever enjoyed. And with mods the adventure never ended.

You can find Van Helsing's final cut for as cheap as $1.99 when it's on sale! Excellent game that can be had for CHEAP
which of these games are local coop ?
i've been replaying titan quest these past days. It's fun but it's more grindy compared to i think all other games listed here. It's leveling progress is slower, drop at early stage is not that exciting but it's balanced with unique class system and ancient mythology theme (greek, egypt, mesopotamia, china and later on nordic and atlantean) so still very much worth to play. But if you are tight on budget then better take Grim Dawn, same creator, more feature, and a bit less grindy.

POE is extremely grindy. More so than Titan Quest.
@@SlickSpingo PoE grind is at the end game which is normal for any ARPG, you want to grind for BiS gears and Skill Gems for PoE. The difference is Titan quest EXP is slow, very slow. You don't get elite pack much often and the requirement for leveling up is a lot of mobs killing with very low spawn, without mod an area is like a dozen or 3 dozen, unlike PoE which have elite packs with more exps and more mobs as you walk (which you skip for efficiency cuz you want to reach end game/ mapping). And then the drop rate. PoE drops are ok - good, not to mention you have lots of wiggle room with crafting system. Titan quest drops are very low (i'm gonna say it's abysmal) you almost at the end of act 1 with only 6 rares after 4 hours. Unless you mod the titan quest, then PoE is still better experience in grinding (at least you get currencies and item that maybe useful for crafting)
Chronicon is fantastic and is a real gem for low spec machines.

is path of exile really that good? I'm a SEA player last time I remembered when the game got released the control was clunky, the inventory was limited & it was super grindy kinda made me lose interest with it

It's kind a serious theme and not some generic "omg, evil entity that will destroy the world".

Diablo 2 is still being played because the original graphics actually aged decently on top of being remastered with better graphics. That and Diablo 2's systems are amazing and is definitely what solidified the genre to what it is today. Van Helsing's graphics honestly has not aged well despite it being not that old really, it had pretty good systems sure but it was far from the greatest and couldn't even compete with the likes of Torchlight which at the time were one of the few titles that could somewhat compete in the genre. Van Helsing was ultra niche and is pretty good if you really really want another Diablo Style game, other than that it was pretty mediocre.
But aside from Van Helsing, the list is solid.

I miss that game too. Every year I search on the internet looking for the chance of someone making a private server for the game (like what happened with City of Heroes), but sadly there are no results.
Wolcen is kickass. Definitely rough around the edges and can be buggy to this day. But still a great amount of fun with a more Warhammer esq vibe than Diablo.

PoE definitely a king here.
Wolcen is disappointing to me because it had a lot of potential. I did had fun playing it but man, the bugs. Playing it on release and it was a stuttery mess on my PC for some reason.
I still think hammerwatch is a major omission from this list

Poe is way overhyped in my opinion. I've tried to get into it several times because you have to follow online guides to get passed the first half of the game. Plus the performance tanks once the screen gets busy which is crappy for arpgs.

Played the demo last year. If you like juggling building up a base and dealing with enemy waves, this will be your game. Tough but worth a look, sharp graphics. I'd recommend

As long as GGG is still charging for stash slots they don't deserve number 1. Storage in an ARPG is gameplay mechanic especially when you have to keep gem slot armor combinations.

Diablo has great lore and looks great (especially 4). But I don't agree with the direction the new game is heading. Monetized battle passes with multiple tiers on a full priced game? No thanks.
However, I won't deride you for enjoying it, the gameplay looks amazing and the artstyle is a return to dark gothic ambience.
Warhammer Martyr was a huge disappointment. Missions will sometimes randomly decide to not finish when you try to exit them, leaving you stuck on a screen while your character goes through the teleport sequence over and over and over. When this happens to a mission in the main quest line your progress is fubar. Martyr is done by the guys who did Van Helsing and they had some issues with that one as well, even at one point having to bring down the multiplayer servers for almost a year. If you absolutely have to play one of those, choose Van Helsing over Martyr but in either case, buyer beware.
After version 0.9 comes version 0.10 -- it's not a decimal.
I tried Ghostlore and that it was terrible, the concept is fine but the game, nah.
