Auspex paints himself red so he uploads faster
Or does he do it so he can melee better?
Informative but Cunning
@@philurbaniak1811or is he cunning and informative?
Maybe he's had a facecam in every single video but painted himself purple
Well... he just needs to go into the sun for 2 seconds. With how much sun all of us nerds get he should get a sunburn in that time. Perfect red teint in no time!
I can't believe that with the massive 800 point Stompa the Custodies box is still a higher point value. I know Custodies are elite but man... it's 800 points.
Allarus Terminators cost as much per model as a small intercessor squad lol
One thing that does add a bit of value and wasn't mentioned is the fact that if you have any spare old Ork Boyz bodies, you can take the Loota/Burna kit and build both options. With two kits, that would give you 8 Lootas, 8 Burnas and two Spanners. And if I remember correctly, there are also all three weapons options for the Spanners, so you can really stretch that kit out if you have some boyz bodies lying around.
I've been advising people getting this box to get a box of the older boyz
That's not even worth it imo. You're better off buying lootas and burnas somewhere else because they're the only thing valuable in this box.
The new boys have so little customization options that itns criminal.
For the trukk, you can just go to any hobbyiqt over 35 and ask them if you could take a rhino. You'll be surprised how many of these you can get, and they're the perfect ork trukks with a bit of greenstuff and foam to make metal teeths.
The stompa is the stompa.
Would it work with the new bodies?
@@swabilius People will tell you no, but the truth is that, yes it works, if you are willing to cut some monopose arms.
@@swabilius I'm not sure. The bodies in the Lootas set are exactly the same as the bodies in the old Boyz set.
One morning you wake up and it seems like a day like any other. Then, suddenly, you feel that something has changed inside you. You are no longer the hobbyist you were yesterday. You look at your collection and feel like there's a void that only one thing can fill: Orks. Seeing this battleforce was a revelatory moment for me.
WELCOME TO THE WAAAGH, GRAB A CHOPPER AND GET KRUMPIN'!
Welcome !
WECOME TO DA ZOGGIN BEST WAAAAAGH!!! STOMPA’Z GONNA GIT ITS DAY!!
Cringe as hell.
@@jesterbob828 STFU and let others enjoy the hobby
Just a note on shooting accuracy of the Stompa: you can easily boost it to hitting on a 4+ by positioning a bog-standard Ork Mek within 3" and using his "Mekaniak" special rule to grant it +1 to hit. The recipient of the rule just has to have the ORK and VEHICLE keywords and a Stompa has both.
lets hope the codex doesnt remove that rule as its quiet powerful for 45 points and he is lone operative ..
I’ve been doing that since the launch of 10th, and it also heals too. I hope and PRAY that it remains in the game.
So the Killa Kans.... or Deff Dredd... which I think are both vehicles....
@@thinkabouthelogic kans already hit on a 4 ... stick it on a morkanaut/gorkanaut/ or a kill tank is great target for it with its crazy 3d6 bursta canon shots kill tanks are great as under 300 points as well
@@icklemoo True... but if you roll like I do, hitting on a 4 is the same as hitting on a 5...6... 😕
Would be amazing if Stompa, Gork/Mork-naut, Deff Dreds, and killa kans see a buff/ detachment rules
still sitting in hope for a dreadwaghhhhh detachment ... though I am not expecting it
I wouldn't hold out hope for the Stompa being buffed, ever since its release it has always been criminally overcosted. They could easily slash the points cost down to 550 points and then it would be takeable, even 600 at a push. For example comparing the Stompa to any of the Imperial Guard Superheavies, especially the various 'sword' variants, Banesword, Shadowsword etc. which vary from 440 to 495 (IIRC) points or heck just comparing it to any of the bigger Imperial Knight models which offer about the same (minus the transport capacity) for about 550.
It seems like GW massively overcosts it because of the transport capacity, in which case I'd love the option for two datasheets, one with and one without the option for transport.
@@luketferIrony is that’s exactly what the Kustom Stompa used to have. You could take the Belly Gun and remove transport capacity.
I think it's more probable to see Dreadwaagh/Speed Freeks/etc. than the classic Goff/Bad Moon/Snakebite/etc. clans.
A Beast Snagga detachement would not surprise me either
I have about 3k of points worth of a green tide Ork army I started back in 2020. I feel the one thing I'm missing is the Stompa. Considering there's no beastsnaggers in this box, it feels like this was tailored for me.
I don't need a new army, I don't need a new army I don't need a new army. DAMN IT ME LISTEN TO ME!
Stay strong
I felt that way about the ork christmas box
Two of them is such a good purchase for a big beast snagga head start om a new army
Do you ONLY have one other army right now? I meannnnnn.....
@@thinkabouthelogic I have like 9 spread over 40k and aos.
im a simple man. i see big model. i click
I came, i saw, i bought, now poor
Thanks valrak
I already asked my local shop to buy one for me, if its 180€~ish its a good battleforce in my opinion xD
Need more boxes with 2 vehicles! I don't particularly like this box but better than jetbikes
The Ork box is GW just trying to sell out stock of unpopular unit but not trying to make it too obvious by adding the new Big Mek, Trukk and Boyz. The only datasheets we know are worth it are the Boyz and Trukk. The Big Mek is just extra incentive.
Burnaz can be useful with a weirdboy as a surprise infantry destroyer. The lootas are cheap and are good at holding the home objective. So they can be fun.
... and it's working. I want a Stompa!
@@Godonstilts do not buy it. The kit doesn't have a manual, and as an ork player, the stompa is not worth the 800 points at all even if you're playing for fun. For this price your opponent can bring two knights, or 3 hammerhead and 5 broadside to obliterate your stompa.
This box is a bait.
@@Sir_Bucketweirdboy can't lead burnaz. Otherwise I'd have a weird boy and 5 more burnas than I do
@@NukerOfFace that sucks, that was so fun to do in 9th
If it had a Gorka/morkanaught instead of the stompa I might have been tempted
Oooooo.... put in the Naught and a team of Killa Kans...
Yes 100%! N like a unit of 5 Nobz w/ a leads to put inside it.
I’m exceptionally excited. Soon the Stompa is going to be the most competitive unit in 40K history. We will get a Dreadwaaagh detachment. We will get cyborks.
And it’s all gonna be cheaply costed, well balanced, with many alternative loudout options to allow greater flexibility in list building.
If this were for any other faction, it would be a Bad Deal. But it iz for da Orkz! So it iz AWESOME! Because with a box of regular boyz, you can build 10 Lootas, AND 10 Burna boys! An extra trukk is always good, but if you have a box of Mek-Gunz, you can now make ALL the guns by using the spare trukk! And even if you already have a Stompa, or don't want it, you can use it to "Konvershun" a (Forge World) Kill tank or whatever monstrosity your Mek-brain can think of!
This could sell out quickly!
... I want two!
They must really want to make the Stompa popular on the table.
Then update the fkn rulez q.q I have my stompa sittin on the shelf for months
Or they desperately want to clear them out of inventory
I have a stompa, the Box it comes in is bigger than a lot of the other battle forces GW puts out.
Funny enough, its probably best used as terrain. Build it in parts, put together some scaffolding out of bamboo skewers and popsicle sticks make it look like its still under construction and thats what the armys are fighting over. ...you'll get more use/fun out of it like that than as an actual unit.
That stomps is notoriously hard to build. Considering these sets tends to appeal to newcomers, this to me is just gw clearing out stock for old models
Yeah the building instructions are awful too
They probably have so many left over because any ork players who actually want a stompa are more than happy to just scratch build them
There are at least 3-5 boxes with nearly unusable instructions, and another 5-8 with errors in the instructions (e.g. cut out #34 when it's actually #9). The worst is when they say "use any of these 5 options on any of the 5 models" but then 4 steps later tell you that you needed to use certain ones on certain models. In addition, while there seems to be an abundance of Space Marine units with snap-together pieces (nephew plays them), but on the very few of ours that do snap together, the instructions are actually wrong.
@@radred609upside-down plant pot and some plasticard. Job done.
@@thinkabouthelogic The Basilisk for the Imperial Guard is also notorious for having the 'new' instructions actually being completely wrong and any Astra Militarium player is advised to find a PDF of the *old* instructions because those are actually correct.
Stompa was an interesting challenge for me on the weekend. I play GSC and i basically just gave my opponent one side of the table for the first turn or 2 until i could re-deploy around it and bring it down. It definitely struggled to do some meaningful damage but it felt pretty durable. I think in terms of board control it can be quite useful. I play chaos knights as well and it certainly seemed a lot more durable than my big knights.
There are definitely uses for it. I'd stick it on my home objective or centre objective and then just send everyone else down one side of the board in a green tide.
Im absolutely buying the ork stompa boyz, it rounds out my growing ork army and gets me a stompa for my bad moons
I’m eager for this, since I’ve only barely begun collecting Orks as it is. I always wanted a stompa as a centrepiece regardless of its crappy rules.
This is how to "play." There are a ton of Orks "players" out there who never see the light of competition and enjoy WH40k for all the other reasons... so get the units you think look the coolest and have a blast. PS. the Killa Kans are a riot.
Fun fact. Back in the early 2000s, there wasn't a model for the Battlewagon, but it was in the Codex. You had to build one out of whatever you had around.
We had one made from an old Transformer, and another one that was a pirate ship with wheels.
@@vxicepickxv See now, they should bring that back... and then have a "submit your painted Battlewagon for our contest" thing... different categories for different ability levels... that would be something wildly fun and much better than discussing blah.
I'm so stoked for all of the green goodness coming in this box! It'll be awhile until I start my orc army though.
I've always thought the Stompa looked badass af. With it basically being free in this box, I think I'll pick this box up.
Thank you for your consistent work and content! 🙌
The real tragedy about the newer Ork boyz kit being in the box is that the Lootas/Burnas Kit is basically a 5 man Ork Boyz kit with upgrade sprues. With a box of original Ork Boyz, you can make a total of 10 Lootas and Burnas in this box set. Slap the big Mek onto the Burnas squad and put them in the trukk and leave the Lootas in the Stompa
If you are chasing a meta then you are no green skin and this isn't far you but its a steal if it's at the price point and a fun box. The new boys are the only let down
Yeeesssss behold the mighty stompa! May we all see them in LGS weekly from now on
Your kitty 😹😹😹
Wish more players used burna boyz, they are so good at clearing chaff or guarding an objective
The new big mek is so amazing looking. I've got the old one, and even that thing has held up.
Originally, I wanted to build a bad moons Walker force. The first thing I thought was a Stompa, I regret selling it to this day because it is just such a fun and goify kit.
Awesome been waiting for this. As a new player who has assualt on black reach and ork boarding patrol been wondering what to get next. This box is so tempting with the giant stompa. Think I'll wait for the codex to see whether it's more usable in game.
i wonder if orks will get a detchment that has some things keyy off the stompa (or gork/morkanought) like how necrons have that 1 detchment that 4 of the strats key off the monolith
I think it boils down to the codex and whether the stompa with mek combo is playable (although terrain is always going to be an issue).
This box sets the pattern for future battleforces the tau one will probably have the big battlesuit as a centrepiece
Even if they kept the Stompa marginally the same but dropped him in points in the new codex I think this is a solid box for the money. At worst you can trade the Stompa for the units you need
Here’s a question, do you think they’ll provide an updated instruction manual for the Stompa? I’m not holding my breath, but it would be a good thing to update, since as my memory serves, the Stompa manual is very unhelpful.
I love the 40k Shipping Forecast
I think I'm gonna buy this and stick it in the closet for a rainy day when my other projects are all done. The Stompa looks like a fun model and the "gigachad" jawline big Mek is hilarious in a vey orky way. I've been trying to get friends to play 40k with me but they're hesitant to spend the money, and since I enjoy the modeling and painting aspect of the hobby anyway I don't mind having an extra army for a friend to play.
That Box feels like a clearence sale for which they made a new model so it would actually sell.
They already told us the next codex is orks. So i'd expect orks late this march, if not early april.
I already have a stompa, but I'm looking forward to picking up the new character when it becomes avaipable as a seperate model.
honestly I don't really collect Orks... but this box is tempting me. Partially just for the Stompa.
It intrusting, but also mix bag trying to warrent a 800 point model. Might be still worth buying the box since cheaper buy box and have it for later. Hoepfully it be after the codez is released
Bad day to have a stompa and 3 trukks.
As someone who is fairly new to the hobby, and am building an Eldar/Harlequin force currently, do we know if they will be getting a new codex/Battleforce anytime soon?
There's a roadmap listing releases through the summer; no Eldar on it.
if this box was 140GBP, it'd be a steal. A Stompa, A Trukk and the new cool Big Mek
If I didn’t already have 2 stompas I would get one
I’m still getting into 40k, I have some space marines and necrons and picked up one the new starter sets to get some Tyranids but love the look of the Orks and this looks like a cool box to get into them, I have heard flying units as a whole are nerfed now but Orks have their jet planes which look so cool, and maybe one day GW will buff them.
"Fly" is such a broad term... get whatever you like and make it work for you!
@@thinkabouthelogic I was pertaining to things like the Dakkajet which is purely an air based model, I will still buy them even if they are rubbish though because of the collecting side of the hobby.
@@b17marko I used to run a wazbom blastajet to great success, it's very durable with the 4+ invun and can do a surprising amount of damage. Mek guns also do a lot more than people realise
is the newer stompa head terrain the same size as the stompa head on this one?
The Big 'Ead Boss Bunka is a Gargant head (titan-sized) and a Stompa is knight-sized. You can make a Morkanaut out of the Big 'Ead, or mount a Stompa head to it and have a Stompa...
Even if the Stompa stays bad, I want it for high rolls in horde mode. I plan on building out my Ork force to be a super fun and diverse one to put down in coopertive horde games.
I am holding out SO much hope that the stompa gets some rightful attention when the codex releases. I have one myself that I’ve used since 9th and it’s a blast to use, but if it gets a buff this edition I will never complain about it ever again.
I think thats a nice box. Even if you dont play the stompa its fun to build him and the rest is not overcosted
Might buy it for the stompa if its a decent price. Been looking to get some orks
Given what happened to Tankbustas, GW pushing these new Boyz with set weapon-fits so hard fills me with a terrible sense of foreboding.
Cant wait to paint the stompa in camouflage
For me insane value and worth. .trukk is good, boys too, stompa for fun, maybe great for the 10th edition and lootas or killa kans can be lead by mek ?
I wait the price but this box for the collection and the gameplay is good.
I know its bad on the table, I know it's not fun to build, but I still need a Stompa. Stick a Mek (not big) behind it for +1 to hit.
This comments section is very much 'spot the ork player' lol.
Was already planning on buying a Stompa, so now it just seems like i get some cheap Ork kits with it.
👍👍 not a bad box for my Deathskulls but I won't be purchasing this one. Not opposed to _winning_ one though 😏😃!
This box makes me want to start an ork army, just because of how good a discount it is, and how orky it is.
Have they given the trukk a new instruction manual? I built mine in 9th and i swear the instructions were a relic of the early 2000s and were a pain to follow
No numbers on the sprue. Nearly impossible to figure out. Took me hours for the first one. By the 3rd one... an actual reasonable period of time. Absolutely ridiculous.
It's a trukk, just stick bits to other bits and it'll be fine
In what world does an Ork player need an instruction manual?
@@chetmanley1885 But it needs wheels or something, right?
Chances the stompa will be legended in the new codex?
I really hope they updated the assembly instructions for this guy in the box. If you ever assembled one, it's an immense PITA trying to follow the badly written directions.
New Battleforces always LOOK like a good deal, but most of those kits are so OLD that I remember when you could buy a trukk in store for £25. The stompa is still cool but basically unusable so it will just end up being a bit of decoration in your hobby room or taking up precious storage space. Maybe there will be a lot of them on ebay not long after this release.
Probably, and a stompa is not even the biggest mini I would have so its not that interesting for me
im a little sad he doesnt look happier! hes got the biggest dakka!
a few months ago I woulda bought this probably but I got most of the the stuff in the box, maybe if I can sell off the lootas and boyz and the trukk
Für mich eindeutig eine gute Wahl, um meine Orks zu verstärken und dabei zu sparen.
Even if the stompa isn't good, it's funny, and that's all that matters for the Orks. Gimme that boxset
I really, really hope this means they are making the Stompa playable! I have always wanted to play an ork “knight” army with Stompa’s + Mork/Gorkanaught’s + Deffdreads 🤗
In my opinion, rues wise the Stompa should be the Ork equivalent to one of the big imperial knights (like the Valiant or Castellan) and costed kinda equivalently (aka 500-600 points) 😊
should also have an option to make it count as a warlord . for running pure stompy stuff
I can get at 30% off at my LGS, so in theory, it's about 160 bucks for me. Not the worst.
Let the new Ork Stompa meta begin.
I really wish it had a gork/morkanaut instead of the stompa. It would be an auto buy for me if it had that. That said.... My Stompa has been looking pretty lonely on my shelf, I think he could use a buddy 😁
Any chance to request you also start adding other currencies when you talk about prices? Japanese Yen or Australian dollars?
How do you expect him to add every single currency? 😅 If you can't work it out yourself, learn.
it was a missed play by using the newest boyz over the older boyz due to interchangability
I refuse to buy any box that contains the newer boyz kit
Underrated comment. Those models are disgusting.
I just mix them in with my old Boyz, if you're getting into orks they suck I'll admit, but when you already have over 100 of da boyz it's fine to me
Because of thre awkward weapins?
@scolack123 yeah because they're mono-posed and have fixed weapon loadouts, so you have to take 6 slugga + choppa Boyz and 4 shoota boyz
Honesty I don't care if it's good or not I don't have a stompba yet and I want a stompba!!
You can buy the Stompa on its own too. :P
@@slow_runner yeah but now I get it at a discount with more minis
Honestly this is probably better for collectors rather than newbies. Im picking jt up for sure though
I made a stompa out of old pots and pans, it looks like crap but that makes it look orky.
Whoever wins this month's Auspex competition has a hard fraggin' choice to make between this box and the Custodes box. Good luck to all participants!
This is for more casual players that want to finally run a big stompy thing as all proper ork players desire. It's a shame the mek can't buff the stompa or this would be more attractive.
Why can`t it?
@@swabilius only the basic Mek boy currently buffs vehicles in a meaningful way with +1 to hit , though I guess GW will remove that rule in codex and give it to this one maybe or just remove it from game entirely. the big mek doesnt have lone operative and no rules to buff vehicles ...
Never know what GW will make this Mek be able to do --shrugs--
I lov ethis box, and I was hella tempted xD
My only problem is that, if an new player bought it, it'd be HELL
I built 2 stompas at this point (one being the forge world version 💀) and they are Ungoddly fiddley to put together.
Is "fiddley" the new word for " the instructions are garbage, god speed, build it however you can fit the pieces together"??
@@thinkabouthelogic that too xD
But I more meant how nasty it is too actually attach the body plates together is
It's not a good box for most players, I don't think. Especially if you care about serious competitive play. But I'm making a Bad Moons army. I want the big Mek. I want a Stompa. I want a Trukk. The Boyz are kind of meh and the Lootas are... fine. Wish the box had a Gorkanaut/Morkanaut instead, would make the kit more appealing, I think, but it's fine. I'll buy it.
Already have a Stompa or i would go for it
I'm down for the Stompa army meme 😍
I wish they would bring back the ork mouths, they just dont look right anymore
Clearly the most powerful box set ever created
Me and my homies love auspex tactics
For me, the box is good, as I wanted a Stompa and need the new character and a Trukk! For beginners it's not a good deal and not a good one to buy more than once!
Feels better value then Custodes
Towering effigy of Mork, you mean
Seems they have to sell a lot of overproduced Stompa kits?
Need to wait for the codex to really know the value.
Yeah
I know lots of people think that stompa is trash, but guys, it's faith--not to mention if you have the Ork who is singing 'er we go, the stompa is almost a MUST
Im heavy thinking about the stompa
I definitely want to buy this Stompa boyz box. I don't care how bad stompa is in games
I just got the Stompa Boyz box for $180. I saw the deal and couldn’t pass it up. Basically the stompa for free
I have an extra Trukk, NIB (I already have 3). I am not sure how messaging on UA-cam works, but if you want it, let me know and we can work out some kind of cheap deal -- I am in the US, so probably you don't want it if you are elsewhere because shipping would be ridiculous. I don't want to put it up on eBay and go through all that blah blah.
Hey folks, hedge your bets on the new codex making stompas mighty fine competitive choices like the MONOLITH has been.
After seeing the potential discount, the ork battleforce overcome the « meh4veryoldkits »vibe.
Killa Kanz would fit much better over those monoboyz that every Ork player already has... even more so paired with the combat patrol.
The new boyz design is so GOOD!!!!
which just makes the mono pose sprues so much more dissapointing...
@@radred609 I have four sets of them already, plus about 60 of the old Boyz and around the same amount of Nobz.
There is a stompa in that kit
It's automatically a good deal
