- CNBC’s Kate Rogers speaks with Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown on the company’s introduction of a new, healthier burger with less saturated fat and sodium. The product will be sold in retail stores to start.
The solution is simple: they should open a restaurant. Right next to McDonald's.
👴Larry David: a spite store?
At least people can choose how to ruin their health and looks 😄
@@maskpandachief Animal meat has saturated fat, cholesterol and heme iron. Three things plant based doesn't have. The plant stuff is still healthier.
they cant compete with mcdonalds especially on the price front so it wouldn't work. And mcdonalds customers obviously care about money more than health
I’m looking forward to trying the new version! The original was always the favorite at my household
I have had the package veggie burgers, the beyond meat burgers and restaurant veggie burgers. The best veggie burger I have ever had was not one of these fake beef tasting burgers. I've made several home made veggie burgers and by fare the best one I have ever made was a black bean burger. The second best one I have had was from whole foods it was a cauliflower veggie burger. What I also find crazy is that tell you its more expensive paying for meat but I went on a fast for about 30 days with nothing but veggies and fruit. And guess what every time I went to the store my bill was half of what it was when I would get meat and of course this is when I happen to make the best veggie burger I have every had. After the fast I went to a local place for a burger and their burgers was great but not like the home made veggie one I made. I got the idea from sam the cooking guys veggie burger and it was the best.
Literally same and to add I shop at farmers markets with my ebt with $40 in this economy i get a weeks worth of food of course i still get plant based milk and bananas.
Woah 46 people like this video.
Giving the people what they want i see😂
I’m actually curious as someone who stopped buying mock meats mostly because of the lengthy ingredient list required to produce it. With me It’s not that something is processed but more the ingredients list.
But that's what makes it processed. The more ingredients, the processed a food item will be.
The biggest issue that is in it is canola oil. This healthier version will be using avocado oil instead
source ur claims
Why should I pay $6.99 a pound for something other than beef if beef is $6.99 a pound?
I wait until the beyond meat goes on sale and get it for under $4/pound. Then freeze it.
Better for your health, and better for our environment. If you care about such things, it is also less cruel.
@bobcoffin95 that logic makes no sense. What if I offer you a pound of lobster or filet mignon for $6.99. I guess it’s not ground beef so you wouldn’t take it
@@doomtomb3 I agree! What could be worth more than helping to protect our only home in space? Helping to reduce the demand for a dangerous, wasteful and destructive industry? Boycott animal products!
You should if you‘re NOT smart. Sane people don’t do that.
I get Boca and Morningstar burgers, which have way less fat/calories than Beyond and are also cheaper. They don't taste nearly as much like beef, but I still like them; if I really want beef, I'll buy beef. Beyond switching to a different type of fat is basically meaningless to me.
I get that, but with Beyond you don’t have to vote for violence with the dollar and can still enjoy everything meat has to offer..
6.99 a pound is very expensive. In upstate New York you'll pay around 1.99 to 3.99 for burger meet
But you are paying for death and trans fats
Animal products like beef get a huge advantage in cost, since most governments like the US use tax payer dollars to subsidize animal products. I could cite a study that shows that a plant based diet could save you a third of your food bill. The whole foods would also be a lot healthier for you. I eat a vegan compatible diet centered around whole foods, but I enjoy Beyond Meat, and similar products on occasion as a treat. I still come out ahead on my food bill.
Meat companies get welfare from gov. Private companies do not.
Maybe if i had universal basic income I'd be able to pay for beyond meat
We used to buy bricks and Bricks of it and the little spicy sausage Patties but the cost of beyond beef skyrocketed !!!
I love this company !!!!!1
Still it's a very highly processed food. So, it's a no no for me. Thanks.
I mean if you perfer carcinogens, antibiotics, hormones, and other additives found in the meat of animals raised on farms then go ahead. Nothing wrong with eating both to average your intake of animal meat :) Beyond meat products tastes great imo
The only thing I'm worried about from the ingredient list is canola oil. I think they're switching it out with avocado oil this spring for the healthier version.
So is bread. Do you eat bread?

Check out Cancer Research study on UPF plant based with animal based. Stop spreading miss info
Go Beyond!!!!
Sounds amazing but below poverty income like my family will not be able to afford it.
We used to buy bricks and Bricks of it and the little spicy sausage Patties but the cost of beyond beef skyrocketed !!! We would like to try the new healthier stuff but it's probably going to be too expensive but we will keep an eye out for price drop.
I have a feeling we might be able to afford it the second Tuesday of next week...
Wow, they do product advertising on CNBC...? I make cat toys and sell them on Etsy. Could they advertise my toys too? It would really help...
healthy xDD
Everything is relative. Is it healthier than the meat it replaces?
Yes, according to the randomized control trial done by Stanford called the SWAP-MEAT study.
@someguy2135 yeah, go look at how much money the bill and Melinda gates foundation donates to stanford lmao of course they will say it's good for you😂
@@keenanbeverlin4472 That wasn't an endorsement from Stanford. It was a peer reviewed randomized control trial- the gold standard for studies of this type. Find a paper that refutes the findings from the peer review process. There isn't any.
Great News!
I am a huge fan of their products - they are simply delicious, without carcinogens, antibiotics, hormones, and other additives found in the meat of animals raised on farms.
People who leave negative comments - first, read about the harm of real meat, and then try Beyond Meat.
I agree! I'm assuming that the avocado oil will replace the canola oil?? On their website that's what it seems like they're advertising but haven't seen the full ingredients list yet.
@@sebastienlinck4908 That is at least one difference.
According to the WHO, red meat is a probable carcinogen. Beyond also has a plant based version of processed meat, like their sausages.
The WHO found that processed meat is a type 1 carcinogen, which is in the same category as smoking cigarettes, and asbestos exposure.
@@sebastienlinck4908 I believe it's replacing the coconut oil to lower the saturated fat content
☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️😍😍😍
just one word Processed !
Bread is processed. Do you eat bread?
The peer reviewed SWAP-MEAT study from Stanford found that the original version of Beyond Meat produced better markers of health compared to the meat they replaced.
no t don,t@@someguy2135
All meat is processed. Do you eat fur, hair, ligaments, nails, and skin of the animals? No you do not.
Heather soooooo it tastes worse and more expensive 😂
Ate Tim Horton beyond meat burger before. Tasted quite good. However charged extra compared to meat burger
Near meat, kinda like near beer, no thanks
Nicotrine gum is a substitue for chewing tobacco. Beyond Meat is healthier for you and for the planet.
This will do absolutely nothing to increase the value and stocks within that company. Few will wake up and think, "Geesh, I can't wait to get my hands on those BYMD stocks." And any increase in prices that is seen will be short lived.
Little late
non-meat stuff trying to look and feel like meat feels self-defeating
The point is to give you the taste and texture of meat without nearly as much damage to our environment. It is also healthier. The new version will be healthier yet.
Full of seed oils and very unhealthy
Avocado oil is not a seed oil. It will be used in their new version.
The SWAP-MEAT study showed that even the current Beyond Meat produces better health outcomes than the meat it replaces.
Beyond meat vs grass fed beef, google the study.
@@drew2465 Yes. That would be the Stanford led SWAP-MEAT study I mentioned.
They did use organic, grass fed beef and compared to Beyond Meat during that study.
Why can’t you just eat beef?
super bad for the environment - even if we just cut back significantly the benefits would be substantial
I don't like the taste of meat.
Beef is by far, the worst animal product for the environment. It has the biggest impact on climate change, wasted resources like fresh water, deforestation, habitat loss, and biodiversity loss. If you don't go vegan, at least stop buying beef, and preferably also dairy, since the greenhouse gasses produced by cows and sheep are so high. If cows were a country, they would have the 3rd highest GHG output! Methane is 20-80 times more potent than CO2, and the nitrous oxide from manure is almost 300 times more potent!
Why? Raising cows has the biggest negative impact on climate change, deforestation, habitat loss and biodiversity loss, wasted natural resources like fresh water and more. If you don't completely boycott animal products, at least boycott beef and dairy!
I want to be healthier, so I switched. Idk why other people make the switch
Keep it simple. Eat beef.
You raise your cardiovascular disease risk significantly by doing so. #science
This is trash food. Go count the ingredients.....
Animal products like beef should have a list of ingredients like antibiotics, growth hormones, dietary cholesterol, IGF-1, and heme iron which might explain why the WHO found it to be a probable carcinogen.
Beef burger has fecal matter and red dye lol.

People have gotten smarter by making our own that not only tastes better but is healthier than that processed stuff. And morning star products are cheaper.
