Didnt they make this channel for weird/interestinc but not too interesting products they got or want to review? I guess they got em as they have been released but thought it wasnt good enough for the main channel
I may be wrong, but depending on how the "optics" of the plastic piece work, it may rely on having that air gap in the corner to fade the image, so it might not work if the corner was flat or seemless. If it would work though, that would be so much better!
I wish someone would make a bezel less monitor with like a hinged piece of plastic to protect the edges when you aren't using them together or something. I'm not an engineer so maybe that's impossible because of how to screen backlight works or something but hey I can dream.
That would require a very special setup because even on so-called bezel less monitors (i.e Acer Predator XB271UH) the LCD panel itself has a black border. So in addition to the monitor frame being bezel less you also need a specially manufactured LCD panel that has no black border. I just don't see that happening. There is circuitry around the outer edge of a LCD panel that is there to route signals to the pixel matrix. So yeah maybe it would be possible but I think it would be very expensive.

I've had a triple monitor setup for many years, with chunkier bezels than those. I've never been bothered enough to spend $20 hiding them, let alone over $100.
It's 140 dollars.... For a piece of bended plastic.... If it was like 20 bucks tops it would be a viable option, but for this price you can just get a wide-screen O_O
This product is for a specific market, not for people looking to upgrade their monitor, but more for someone who already has 2000x3 dollars triple monitor setup and has to deal with bezels. Someone who doesn't want to buy the newest, best ultra wide monitor because he can still utilize his triple monitor setup.
@@Kioselis I understand that, but why make it that expensive for such a simple (but effective) solution? It's price is purely based on design and innovation costs, because making this would cost 8-10 bucks a piece tops.
@@MrMarnix1234 because like Snigginz said..It's for a specific market. @@MrMarnix1234 cause they can capitalize on someone who spent tons of money on monitors since he won't care about spending a couple of hundred more. Price is not justified, but same can be said about so many fucking things this argument should be irrelevant if that's the only thing we're targeting. It makes sense because this product has a viable target group and makes some sense with its usability, doesn't mean its gonna be a success (lots of things can be made into a success with smart marketing). Price reflects the target group.
4:26 Huh? There's nothing "behind the bezel" to be missed. Unless your setup is extremely weird, leaving out two areas in rendering specifically for the bezels. The images (left/right) are rendering immediately adjacent areas that are just separated by physical distance and get optically stretched over the bezels, closing the gap between them.
I don't think you understand, windows knows and calculates how large your bezels are and purposely puts the pixel data behind them just to piss people off. 😂
Benjamin Philipp I think he meant the sensation of “mouse skipping” that can happen over a bezel, but yeah he’s not great at explaining things. Not that putting a mirror over a bezel would reveal anything hidden behind it anyways.

I feel like before hearing about this way back when it was announced, we never saw something like this, but man.....that's expensive for what it is. At $109 I figured it was a mini-screen or something to help hide the bezel but idk, that feels like a lot for what it actually is and like there should be a even cheaper option that does the same thing...

I remember seeing something of this nature a while ago. if VR wasn't a thing i believe people would buy into this more.
Exactly. Why even bother with this stuff anymore? VR offers so much more for the money.
@@fubar12345 VR has worse resolution. It turns out that pancake monitors are the best at creating pancake displays.
Edit: Whoops thought you were talking about triple monitors and not this addon. For gaming with a higher FOV, VR does a great job right now.
gyroninja there are 4k vr’s and a lot of them are either 1080p or 1440p, so it doesn’t have worse resolution
@@Raulxz Those are just the panels in the headset. The contents of those panels gets stretched over your whole field of view. With pancake displays the contents is only stretched over a plane. This means that you are not wasting any resolution.

Male pattern baldness is due to hormone build up in the scalp that causes the hair follicles to die off. Don't eat a crappy diet of nothing but carbs and crappy quality protein and hair loss is very unlikely.

Video Request: Make this same video with "Curved" displays.
I may be wrong, but depending on how the "optics" of the plastic piece work, it may rely on having that air gap in the corner to fade the image, so it might not work if the corner was flat or seemless. If it would work though, that would be so much better!
It just throw Anthony in and we'll all be happy.
@@1HyperCube1 I saw a review on the Amazon product page that said it works with curved displays. Not sure to what radius though...
Did you see those monitors on Newegg? They've got curved monitors. Curved. Monitors.
@@TheSmilingLord Curved Monitors have been around for quite a while.
I wish someone would make a bezel less monitor with like a hinged piece of plastic to protect the edges when you aren't using them together or something.
I'm not an engineer so maybe that's impossible because of how to screen backlight works or something but hey I can dream.
As an engineer i can say that its possible but too expensive for commercial production. No profit would be made. At the end of the day its a business
what about a bezel top and bottom but not on the sides? so you can put three together side-by-side bezel free
This guy enjoy his job and I have to agree, he does know his stuff and that's a joy to watch.

The bezeless display is more distracting than having bezels in the first place. I was hoping for some kind of flexible OLED

They have to make money off of it and the amount of people that actually own 3 monitors wouldn't justify them creating this if they only sold it for 8-10 dollars my dude. This is plastic just like a 5,000 dollar nikon DSLR lens is just a piece of glass...

Anthony is my OG.. he's put it in a lot of work on the block. Salute!
Anthony: “So you got a triple monitor setup”
Brave of you to assume I have 3 monitors
Bezel compensation.
Benjamin Philipp I think he meant the sensation of “mouse skipping” that can happen over a bezel, but yeah he’s not great at explaining things. Not that putting a mirror over a bezel would reveal anything hidden behind it anyways.
If Linus ever decides to go for an extended refreshing holiday THEN Anthony should take the screen.
