- Hey-TheThings fans! Welcome back to another video. The Twilight Saga took the world by storm when it premiered in 2008 and changed what we all thought we knew about vampires. With the added angsty love triangle between Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, fans across the globe became obsessed with the franchise. The Twi-hards were born!
However, none of this would have been possible without the effort that went into the first film from the cast and crew, especially director Catherine Hardwicke. So what made the first film - Twilight - so special?
Summit Entertainment and the cast in the film were new off the scene, which means besides Stephenie Meyers fanbase the film didn’t have much recognition while in production. Therefore their budget was extremely tight - but maybe that only brought the cast and crew closer together!
In this video, we’re showing you some of the best behind the scenes and cute moments between the cast that’ll have Twilight fans reeling at how their favorite film was brought to life. From the visual effects and practical effects to Rob and Kristen’s very awkward chemistry test, Twilight was unique both on and off the screen.
Between the special effects coordinator who was able to make the movie possible despite its low budget and a dedicated cast and crew, they were able to pull it off.

I think it's so funny how people still post about twilight. It has been 13 years since the first movie and us fans still live on. and yet the whole cast wants nothing to do with it😭 that's okay though-

Rob HATES Edward he just thinks he is so depressed and it got to the point that rob actually started to take it way to serious. But they want nothing to do with it more so bc what they had to do to their bodys to make the character

The first movie is iconic. The blue filter. The awesome soundtrack.
Twilight had the best vibe, it was so dark and had a specific filter applied to the film, I wonder how the others films would look like if they have the same director

I agree with this. I always liked the vibe and filming of the first one and wanted her to continue as director of the other episodes.
I love the movie
No specific filter. Just post production color correction. Most of the colors wer heavily slided towards blue. That gave you probably the ultra Forks'ish always-cloudy, always-foggy mysgerious cold yet cozy vibes.
The movie always seemed dark and mysterious. I always liked it.
My friend and I just did a twilight marathon and ngl I have fallen in love with the movies again

The Twilight films are known for their romantic, dark atmosphere, and the actors come to life in a brooding, somber sense. But that doesn’t mean the actors always had to be in character or can’t crack a smile every now and again.
cant we remove the word romantic. I feel the term is dramatically misused on these films. Much like why the actors moved on from them XD.

This! This is the issue with bringing some books to life. Yes, the characters are supposed to be serious and brooding but that doesn’t mean they can’t have humorous moments. Book Edward was much more charming
Catherine Hardwicke was the sole reason why the Twilight franchise was as successful as it was. Even tho she didn’t direct the other movies, she led the way.
I, believe it or not, actually spoke to Robert Pattinson a couple of times a few months ago and he was the nicest, most down to earth guy you could imagine. He's reserved but very nice. It's sad that things didn't work out for them in the end but young love just is that way so frequently

I have returned to my time as a teenager and a fan of this saga. I am reading the books and watching the movies at the same time. I still can't believe what a great experience it's turning out for me. Definitely, although we cannot stop time, some things remain the same.

The moving carpet that Laurent Victoria and James made an entrance with was so badass very iconic scene as with most of the series as a whole 🙌🏻 🧛🏻♀️ 💓
The musical direction of the first film is so iconic, it really helps the emotion and story along. It’s maybe my favourite part of the film.

Take me back! The last Harry Potter book was coming out, Twilight was becoming the new hotness in the YA lit world, I was about to graduate college and still had some hope in my future. I loved the 2010s

Me too miss those days - back then they actually put together a cast that literally had amazing chemistry. Not just Twilight , but other movies and shows too around that time which made them so memorable. Nowadays with new shows and movies they just put actors together with hardly any chemistry at all.

Because of edward in their first scene he made me goosebumbs; his looks, his charm, his eyes... therefore overall of his is brilliant!
I hope someday somebody edits the other 4 films to add the blue filter for all, as that's what makes Twilight so magical, makes you feel the real enviroment of darks wet woods!!! I really need someone to add the blue filter to the rest of the saga 😍
Such an amazing creative film. Never did I think that someone like myself at my age could get caught up in a vampire saga…and I now own the saga on dvd. I’ve watched it several times and still it fascinates me. The characters, the story, the sound, the photography. I thank all of you who contributed to these films.
It’s funny I took my granddaughter camping at age 8 and while it was raining this was the best thing I had in the camper for her to watch. I thought her mother would kill me. I figured she would not understand it so I let her watch it with me and of course she seemed to understand everything. The way she talked was so endearing about the good vampires LOL. She was not afraid.
I think this saga is ageless. It’s a love story. I’m still praying they make another one. I love all of the characters. Carlisle is great! Loved him on Nurse Jackie too. He was Dr. Cooper.
This comment is underrated, but I truly want to send my love to everyone responsible for the music of these movies! I CRY EVERY TIME AT THE SAME SCENES. Incredible acting, incredible use of music to play on emotion. Absolutely phenomenal work. I can't express this enough.

I remember the first time I watched Twilight I was about 8 years old maybe, but I didn't watch it completely and I never watched another Twilight series and after 10 years, I suggest wanting to see all the Twilight series from now on. I already watched first Twilight series yesterday and it's was so cool! I love it
I remember seeing a trailer for the first movie and I thought to myself 'this is gonna be a blockbuster film'! I don't even remember what movie I watched that night but I certainly recall being excited by the trailer of Twilight! My daughter and I are huge fans if the franchise and she read the books and was impressed that I wanted to see the movie with her! That's almost unheard of for a teenager wanting mom to tag along for a teen romance flick!

This is me and my sister's favorite romatic series movie no matter what people say about hating this series. From the ambiance of the film, their soundtracks, the characters and all just hits different.

For real. The other directors didn't really understand the vibe of the twilight universe nor did they gave much thought to how to make a shot interesting. Catherine made the baseball scene look so cool even with a tight budget. Also the deer scene looked great. But the other ones specially the one who directed the last two movies made it look like a disaster with the CGI effect which was terrible

Twilight saga forever, I'm almost 37 yrs old but I'm till loving it. I want a tv series of the saga.
Much older and yet can appreciate. A similar series would do, would need to get "clones" of the actors. Just loved the five books! Would happily watch a series of the story. Loved the other vampire series that went for some many seasons!

I think what made it wonderful was THEY LOOKED the part (of vampires) in the following movies they all looked “Strange” like Edwards grandpa eyebrowns to Jaspers locks in New Moon. Twilight was the reason WHY the series was a success, Hardwick did an amazing job down to the sound track. 🤓
The three nomads walking on what is basically an Airport walkway to simulate gliding/floating is so cool.
Kristen had so much emotion in this. Wish she showed that with Bellas character
Bella is supossed to be awkward and is supossed to seep to “lack emotions” in the books so she played it very well

I was busy 24/7 in nursing school for my BSN when these started to come out. My daughter asked for the movies and I bought them for her but never watched one myself until years later lol now I like to have a nice twilight binge every few months. Finally just got around to reading midnight sun. Was interesting!

Actually she was still at school when it all started.

Rob dodged a bullet when she cheated on him in public. At least he found out early on that she wasn't the one. He seems much happier with Suki Waterhouse and Kristen of course has chosen to be with women for the past 8 years, so she's happy too.

I watched twilight 1 when I was 14 years old, it popped up randomly on tv, and didn't watch the sequel. Then I continued it when I was 16, now I'm 17, every time I rewatch it, i fell in love again with this movie, it's really cool
