weirdly my stamina sometimes varies depending on the flow of the game. When I'm playing on the wing or up front, I feel like I always have the gas to make the runs. Whenever I play mid and have to track back and forth chasing players I get gassed so easily. I play 7 a side.
Yeah playing five a side I’m the worse for this, I play full throttle and like my teams to be on the front foot, but I’m out of gas after just 10mins 😂 I’m a winger also. Deffo want to improve and have to improve.

Get passed the first 10-15 minutes of pain then you get your second wind & the discomfort will be controlled/conquered allowing you to concentrate on your drills or game techniques & know when to rest & deep inhale exhale to gain more oxogen in the blood flow to your heart enhancing quicker recovery, I'm 65 & Train/play with guys in their twenties 2-3 times a week,

GKs might be weird, but overall we're normally even more fit than some of the field players (except midfielders, ya'll are crazy xD). Had a few forwards help us GKs with GK specific training one day, and on a light day too. They were looking at us like we were crazy lmao they said they didn't realize how fit GKs gotta be realistically.

Well I think this is very effective coz i have been doing the short distance running buh the first 10 to 15 mins I easily get exhausted and after that I hold my own through out the entire 90min wat could the probs

I agree. I hate running, so I develop some base stamina then during games I push myself to the limit. Next thing you know, match fitness.

HIIT training with weights works well for stamina also, u do 40 seconds of work followed by just 20 seconds rest for 30-40 mins none stop
