Mane this is classic. Like no lie I’m very tempted to go find a copy of Gran Turismo 2 just to drive this car! Damn bro you know how to bring out the nostalgia cars I grew up playing. I pray that this new Gran Turismo takes us back in past and bring out some classic cars like this and escudo pikes peak. I know it’s probably a stretch because of licensing but how bleeping cool will it be to see the old classics like this and many others in the new GT7. Amazing vids bro !!!
Just imagine how darn good it would sound. The F1 engines of that time sounded absolutely fantastic and I seriously think Polyphony could make them sound about as glorious as the real thing with today's audio technology.
i absolutely LOVED that car as a kid. liked it more than the escudo in GT2. Guess this car is the reason why Renault is my favorite brand and that I drive my 2nd Megane by now. Very awesome episode. also it would have been crazy to see this car in a silhouette racing series
Yeah beast of a car. And nice one, I really want to get my hands on a Megane R26 in a Beards 'n Cars review in future, one of my favourite hot hatches out there
Great post Amigo. I remember when I got this back in the day along with the Suzuki Escudo. Man I loved this ride. Wished Tamiya would make a scaled model & so I can put it 2ghtr. Great post once again. Memory lane of Great times. U were 7 yrs old and I was 29 & still we're playing this awesome game. 👍🏾😎👍🏾
I had to chance to approach the display version a few times as I've worked with one of the second tier supplier company that made some of the lightweight body parts (for both versions). Same company that made the Clio V6 Trophy (phase I) body parts (all yellow) back in the days. Cool stuff...
When I got gt3 at the age of six around 2004, I was gravely disappointed that this wasn't thereThis was the very first I looked for. Not to mention, the huge amount of no shows of other gt2 faves. Only when I grew a little older did I understand all that stuff about licencing.
Hope you get more external viewers to follow the unsung heroes. Loved many episodes already. And to be honest I played GT2 back in the day but I came to love the car because of this channel. Before I didn't know the history of this car (but your many praises of this car earlier made sure I find this car fantastic.) 😀 Right now I am waiting for the FSO Syrena review 🧐😃
I really want a 1/18 scale of this model someday, but imagine it on modern day performance tires! Still fresh in mind from Gran Turismo 2 nearly 20 years ago.
I have not been about for your entire channel history but thinking about you doing the vid on the Espace made me think a vid for the GT90 and Ford Indego concepts could be solid topics for future installments.
also on GranTurismo2 is a '96 (?) concept car of "Daimler-Benz Phaeton" it has a futuristic bodystyle which looks similar to the 2010 S-Class or E-coupe facelift withe the sharp bumper lines in chrome
Great episode. Would be cool to see a video about the Lamborghini Cala or the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve in the future. Two forgotten concept sports cars which unfortunately didn't make it to production.
Might be a stupid question but with the engine in the inside, is there some type of exhaust/filtration system that kept the fumes out of the cabin? Since I was a kid playing GT2 I always thought the engine was in the front, but I'm not surprised that's not the case
I hope this works out and gives other vehicles the attention they deserve. I think my first video from this series was the mercedes benz t80, the land speed record car that never got a chance to run.
@@HSGAutomotive yeah I think I came across it when you were around 60 episodes in. As you said though I found it because I saw a comment on a video about bluebird cn7 i think it was.
Oh of course, at the 10th anniversary of the Espace, it was competing with many other brands who had developed their own minivan alternatives, and this made full use of that F1 success to inject some jalapeno spice into the Espace
Hi Mike! Please allow me to differ on my opinion about the Espace F1 weight. 1.300 Kg is on the heavy side for a racing car but when you compare it to street legal and even concept cars from that era, I think it's actually not really that bad. Considering how much horsepower and torque the Espace F1 has, the only times I notice its weight is when I have to negotiate the trickiest corners in GT2. Everywhere else, the weight is barely noticeable. Have a good one!
@@HSGAutomotive Well, I was thinking more about street legal cars from that era, hence my comment. Of course, the F1 will always be superior in every single aspect.
I just wanna send a segestion for a vid because there are some cars I love that I have little _knowledge_ of and would like someone's take on the cars. *1959 Chevy Lister* *1965 Bill Thomas Cheetah* *1959 BMW 700*
One of my favourite concept cars of all time. The way they widened the body to fit the chassis, giving it massive tumblehome, is just perfection.

Yeah legendary GranTurismo car, haha. I'd die if they brought it back xD
Granturismo 2 ❤
I kind of hope this comes to GT7

it better
The Espace F1 was an absolute beast of two celebrations when it comes to Renault's heritage.

@@HSGAutomotive amazing mid 2000s hatch, faster than anything back then. a diesel of the mk2 was my first car ever

There actually is a 1/18 scale version of it which I own from Otto Models, but it definitely isn't cheap, lol
@@HSGAutomotive will def. Look into it. Thank you.

Cool stuff...
Finally! Thank you sir, and keep up the good work!

Yeah licencing kills everything we love in racing games, lol. At least GT3 brought us the legendary 787B instead
Hope you get more external viewers to follow the unsung heroes.

amazing car, and yes, that's how i got to know the unsung series! will def check more
This was new to me. I only knew about the Ford Supervan from the 80s. Never played the GT video game. Thx for sharing!
I really want a 1/18 scale of this model someday, but imagine it on modern day performance tires! Still fresh in mind from Gran Turismo 2 nearly 20 years ago.
Yeah the Otto 1/18 model I have is lovely, but also the most expensive one I have
I have not been about for your entire channel history but thinking about you doing the vid on the Espace made me think a vid for the GT90 and Ford Indego concepts could be solid topics for future installments.
I simply Love this series!!!! please do an episode with the Fiat 500 V12 Lamborghini...

Wow glad to see this back
You can drive it, in Rfactor 2, it jumps like the real think (corner entering).
PLZ do a car review about the Tommy Kaira R34 & HKS R33
both in GranTurismo 2 on ps1 that never came back.

Fumes are piped outside through exhausts like a normal car, so the interior should have minimal to no leakage
I hope this works out and gives other vehicles the attention they deserve.
I think my first video from this series was the mercedes benz t80, the land speed record car that never got a chance to run.
Ah yeah, on of the OG episodes, nice
@@HSGAutomotive yeah I think I came across it when you were around 60 episodes in. As you said though I found it because I saw a comment on a video about bluebird cn7 i think it was.
Make more unsung heroes, for example cars : Bugatti Baby II, Viritech Apricale, Renault Twizy F1, Keating Bolt, Ferrari Sigma
Meanwhile for the Forza unsung hero: the Seat Cupra GT
This car would fit perfectly in Horizon tbh
Yeah man I miss that bulldog of a racer
Part of me thinks Renault did this as a publicity stunt. And if so, then boy did they succeed!

I compared its weight to the Formula 1 car which its engine came from, which it is heavier than. So what are you disagreeing with exactly?...
@@HSGAutomotive Well, I was thinking more about street legal cars from that era, hence my comment. Of course, the F1 will always be superior in every single aspect.
Almost all GT3 cars are in the same weight, with 500 to 550 HP. Most at 1350 Kg
1996 Dodge T-Rex 6x6
Renault E-SPAZED-OUT
I’ve never heard of the espace f1 maybe that’s because I’m australian
so sad we will not get any new f1 mercedes in gt 7 just old w08 :(..I racing just partnered with official f1 merc team to make W f1 cars
