There is no one better than Kathy Bates. I don't think I've ever watched a movie or a TV show or anything with her in it that I haven't enjoyed and learned from. This woman was made to bring joy to so many people through her acting and and her kindness
I didn't actually want to watch this movie but, Kathy Bates voice over talking about her depressed life at the start spoke to me. Then I remembered my own father who was a volunteer emt. He never graduated nursing school or anything like that but he picked up so many bits of medical knowledge that any time I got hurt at home or what not he always knew what to do. Even as a kid I used to feel like I was calm and safe because I got hurt daddy always knew just what to do. Sometimes it was an ice pack or steam for my Asthma but he knew his stuff. He was the one who would go with me when my Asthma attacks got bad and I needed to go to the ER. He passed in 2014. I never imagined myself in the medical field but, during the start of Covid I worked in the Activities Department at a nursing home. Suddenly it was all hands on deck and I discovered I could handle more medical things than I thought I could do. Im not sure what pulled me in but, I am grateful for people like Jane who get a call and spring into action. God bless every worker in every institution - from the Doctors to the CNAs, to the Kitchen and the House Keeping. These people give it their all every single day. They work through exhaustion even on major holidays. God bless each and every one of them.
Absolutely love the movie. Hilarious, serious, sad, joyful, inspirational, with a truth and wisdom beneath all of this. Thank you Kathy and all of you wonderful characters alike. This was a must see. I am an AA member and enjoyed the view from a husband and a wife's perspective of living life on life's terms.

This was a GREAT story and addressed a mental phobia illness. Using humor, serious lift and death drama to show how the married couple dealt with their story. I loved the realness of this life-in-the-making situation. I would have never guessed it could happen. It made my situations look like minor problems in comparison. So glad I found this movie. Thanks UA-cam!

Also the people in a relationship can change (the husband quit drinking) (Wife had to get over her fears) but they still love and need to stay together in the end.
Love anything Kathy is in. Sich a great actress. This movie was so true to life. Sharing the ups and downs, trials of life and marriage. Thanks for this great movie.
It's a scary thing to change your life after years of comfort, of having the good life with one person, not taking any dangerous chances, to care for people at their worst..But it takes courage and strength to see it through and accomplish what you set out to do..and she did..❤
This couple of actors look terrific together. It is nice to see how they workout their relationship. Not easy to understand our own feelings and changes in the aging process. I enjoy the movie, thanks for sharing.

....and, in this case, I believe The Honor was Kathy’s, as she portrayed this very memorable character so well here....Jane Stern’s book, of the same title, (love the name, dubbed affectionally by her horse man friend), was just so good and real. Her flowing writing style made it a breeze for us to relate and so enjoy her true sharing..........I’m so grateful this somehow popped up..... to remind me of how I have I enjoyed this gem of an auto-bio book - one of my favorite ! Thank You for this movie.

Love it and I actually couldn't remember the name of this film. I am glad you posted it and thanks for the memory.
loved her in fried green tomatoes, titanic and a place of our own. she is right about fear sometimes we blow it up in our own minds (I have done this due to anxiety and depression) and if you face your fears to the extent you can it fades away as you realize the imagined harm was not real. but then you have to remember some fears are legit, so finding that balance is a challenge for sure.
Yes a point so relevant to the present. Fear. One of the most prevalent mind control nuisances. So yes to tackle it head on and walk through it certainly most certainly makes it vanish and makes you grow. That was the best line for me there at the end.
@@followtheflow1083 Oh yeah I agree with you.....but watching the movie she made everryone hate her.....like she was hired to do......good acting...I hated her! Lol.

Excellent movie. Tear jerker at the end. Kathy Bates has always been in movies which you learn something from. The movie was kinda slow but the comedy made up for it.
Great movie I can relate to this movie hits so close to home. I started in 1998 in a volunteer fire department has a new husband and father to a baby girl. 22 years later I'm retired fire chief of the same department no longer married . I can't put all blame on the fire department life but was part of the ending of my marriage. Some many couples one partner doesn't understand or can handle their partner passion for that line of work. It also applies to cops too .But I still have my baby girl which has given me so far three beautiful granddaughters to enjoy also has out did her dad by getting her LPN
Yes, the toll on marriages is certainly noteworthy. Mine and a number of others in our 60 member rural volunteer department seemed somehow... inevitable, sad to say.
I never new this movie existed, just came up on my feed, this is a great movie! I was a phlebotomist and later an ekg technician in a hospital for over 33 years, I can relate!
I related to this story because my husband got Covid in December 1922 and I had to call the ambulance to get him to the hospital for treatment. The EMTs who came to her house, along with first responders and the fire department all these other volunteers that came in, took such kind and respectful care of it was remarkable .They were so good to him, getting him into i the ambulance and a safe trip to the hospital. One of the guys even shoveled the deck because I was unableto lift the enormous amount of sticky snow for a path. I can’t think these people enough and so when Kathy Bates was working with the same type of people, in, she demonstrared the same attitude and skills. Unfortunately, my husband succumbed to Covid= pneumonia, but I will tell her forget this type of people, and Kathy Bates really demonstrated what they go through and how they really care. This was a great film and her husband in the film played a great part Also a call.
So sorry for your loss, I lost my son in 2022. Such heartbreak!. Your strength shines through. We have a lot of hospital experiences, I thank God for Doctors EMT workers and nurses thank God for them!! We have to keep them in our prayers ! It is a job I could never do!💖
Every once in a while I read a comment and I feel touched to some how to reach out and respond, even if I can't help, even if the comment is old. May God bless you Cynthia. Something is just making me want to tell you that your husband is watching out for you and he is going to help you through your obstacles.
I loved the book and bought it for my late sister-in-law as a Christmas gift. A friend from Fairfield County found out where and when Jane had her ambulance meetings and I tracked her down to sign the book. My SIL was an EMT and driver AND 911 dispatcher for over 20 years. I thought you were going to say my legs.
Excellent movie. And refreshing to see a story of a couple who decided their relationship was worth fighting for. Worth saving instead of giving up when life became painful and *seemingly unfixable.
Love, love this movie! had me laughing, crying and coming to terms with stepping out of your comfort zone. Great job Ms Bates and the gentleman that played the part of her husband. Also, kudos for being one of the producers/directors.
5 Stars says it all!!!!! Kathy Bates always gets my heart! Good story too!
This movie is hilarious. Kathy Bates was phenomenal in this.
When isn't she, right? We're privileged to have a Kathy Bates movie on our channel and so glad you enjoyed it.

I just Love Kathy Bates! She's an incredible actress and can play any role seamlessly.
These actors and their characters were so solid! Love Kathy Bates, and the man who played her husband is great! The boss man, loved him, too! 🧡🙏🧡🙏🧡🙏🧡. Thanks to all who look out for us in life, all who serve!

Loved this movie!! So AWESOME! Love all movies Kathy Bates stars in! She’s an AMAZING actress!❤️🍿⭐️👏
Kathy Bates has never looked prettier.. what a wonderful actress!!
I was just thinking not even 30 seconds ago how pretty she looks.
Pretty??! I don't think so, she is a little bit cute in a comforting sort of way and she's a brilliant actress.
@@julieoluna8887 Her face does look pretty.. 4 a lady over 60, she's looking better than she was when she was n Misery. That's the great thing about being average looking, sometimes a person looks better as they get older.
There is no one better than Kathy Bates. I don't think I've ever watched a movie or a TV show or anything with her in it that I haven't enjoyed and learned from. This woman was made to bring joy to so many people through her acting and and her kindness
I found myself, bursting out laughing so many times!!😂😂 this is what life , marriage is , endurance, selfishness, unconditional love and serving❤
Neighbors may be wondering about me today! Windows open & laughter bursting out! 👍Excellent movie!
I did, too.
So nice to hear you all enjoyed this so much!
I laughed. I cried. And in the end rejoiced with them with tears flowing like a river. Excellent movie!
Hysterical movie! "You're unconscious Stern" lol also a heartfelt story. I almost cried when she sang to the dying patient in the ambulance ❤
Yes, I realized that the patient was dying.
Great movie. Couples complement each other, and at times, they can be too close and need to be themselves. Love is like that.
Thanks so much for sharing your personal story!
Kathy Bates was one of my Granny favorites she can play any role she's an excellent actress I love me some her 😊
How cute you are, Kathy Bates... And amazing human being and actress. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH ❤❤❤
With Cathy Bates in it...oh YEAH! Don't miss this one. It's priceless!
I'm getting older now Kathy Bates, has always been my gal, what a woman. Love you so much, you are beautiful inside and outside. Weather in the box or out. I have always loved you. Jeanie.
This is my second time watching this, rarely, do I watch a movie twice,,, too great actresses, great plot to the story, just all-around good. Thank you UA-cam for posting this movie…
A belated You're Welcome. So glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you Kathy Bates for another wonderful movie. You are so incredibly talented!!💞
14:35 so far this movie is awesome!
I used to drive an ambulance and a fire truck too.
One of the most demanding lines of work ever. Gotta stay calm and collective while helping others who are having the worst moments of their lives…
It takes a special drive…
& It’s rewarding.
I almost passed this up till I saw that Kathy Bates is in it. That's all you need to make a movie good!!! This movie isn't one of my faves. But KB does a great job. This movie is cute and funny. Moved a little slow but I'm glad I watched it!!
I absolutely adore Kathy Bates! This movie was so touching, and I enjoyed it very much.
Absolutely adored this movie!! Didn’t even know this movie existed!! I love Kathy Bates & the gentleman who played her husband, Michael, and their wonderful friend, who had the stroke!! And the fire, chief and the woman who was an EMT with her!! Etc.! Lots of wonderful characters and actors in this movie!! Especially love the marriage and relationship between Kathy, not remembering, her character’s name, and her husband, Michael!!!! oh, and I loved it when she was in the ambulance for that thirtyish, young woman
who is dying… And Kathy sang an old spiritual I guess it was to her! ❤️🤘👍🤗✋🙏😁😇✝️😘😜
Beautiful comforting moment between them, as the hospice patient was ready to go "home".✝️

Wonderful, insightful and amazing! Katy Bates did a beautiful job! The nomination was well deserved!. Her ability to become the “ character she is portraying is beyond words. She became Katy!” Thank You! ❤️🌹🎶😇
Wonderful delightful story of two married people in love that still find they need to accomplish personal growth. Thank you.
Also the people in a relationship can change (the husband quit drinking) (Wife had to get over her fears) but they still love and need to stay together in the end.
You're welcome, Lois! Thanks for watching.
Love anything Kathy is in. Sich a great actress. This movie was so true to life. Sharing the ups and downs, trials of life and marriage. Thanks for this great movie.
You're welcome. So glad you enjoyed it.
I love anything that Cathy Bates is in .thanks for the movie 😊
It's a scary thing to change your life after years of comfort, of having the good life with one person, not taking any dangerous chances, to care for people at their worst..But it takes courage and strength to see it through and accomplish what you set out to do..and she did..❤
This couple of actors look terrific together. It is nice to see how they workout their relationship. Not easy to understand our own feelings and changes in the aging process. I enjoy the movie, thanks for sharing.
Oh what a blessing a Cathy Bates movie I love love her , she is the best
what a roller coaster of a film it has you laughing, then crying in the scene with kathy bates is singing to the young woman with aids then laughing about the dog in the pool, i love kathy bates in whatever character she plays loved this film xxx
Lovely movie. Kathy Bates can breath life into any character in a way that few others can. Thank you for sharing.
....and, in this case, I believe The Honor was Kathy’s, as she portrayed this very memorable character so well here....Jane Stern’s book, of the same title, (love the name, dubbed affectionally by her horse man friend), was just so good and real. Her flowing writing style made it a breeze for us to relate and so enjoy her true sharing..........I’m so grateful this somehow popped up..... to remind me of how I have I enjoyed this gem of an auto-bio book - one of my favorite ! Thank You for this movie.
I remember this movie. It came out on life time years ago. I watched it with my Grandmother it was really a great film! Kathy Bates is an excellent actress and knows how to embody any role. Love it and I actually couldn't remember the name of this film. I am glad you posted it and thanks for the memory.
What a great show . Lots of laughs and tears and fun . So glad they stayed together .😊
He didn't want to be the center of her world and then didn't like not being the center of her world. So real.
loved her in fried green tomatoes, titanic and a place of our own. she is right about fear sometimes we blow it up in our own minds (I have done this due to anxiety and depression) and if you face your fears to the extent you can it fades away as you realize the imagined harm was not real. but then you have to remember some fears are legit, so finding that balance is a challenge for sure.
That's it. Fried green tomatoes. Was stumped
Finding that balance is the key🤭
Not Misery? Or Dolores Clairbourn?
Yes a point so relevant to the present. Fear. One of the most prevalent mind control nuisances. So yes to tackle it head on and walk through it certainly most certainly makes it vanish and makes you grow. That was the best line for me there at the end.
Fried green tomatoes is in my top 10.
What a great movie. Almost had me in tears 😢😢
I like all Kathy Bates' films, she is real actress 😍✨️
Even in the movie Misery? Lol.
@conniebendick9293 That's her acting skills though, and she won the Oscar supporting role right?
Happy new year 🎉
@@followtheflow1083 Oh yeah I agree with you.....but watching the movie she made everryone hate her.....like she was hired to do......good acting...I hated her! Lol.
KATHY IS SUCH A REAL PERSON
Kathy is so good. She brings All the other Actors up with her. A mark of a true Actor.. Never upstages
She is one of my fav actress I've watched all her movies. From old to new
How have I never heard of this movie? I LOVE Kathy, and I have never heard of this movie!
The important thing is that you've heard of it now! So glad you found it, Gail. Hope you enjoyed it.
She should have won that Emmy as an actress and director! She's fabulous, she is a rare talent that I've not seen one thing she's been in and didn't like it. She casted this movie well.
She did win an Emmy award for this.
Very few movies keep me hooked till the end This kept me watching. Love Kathy Bates She is really underrated.
So happy to hear these nice comments, Nadia.
Good movie I love Kathy Bates. She is such a good actress...
We agree. Kathy is the best!
LOVE Kathy Bates!!
Yes!
Me too ! She is an amazing actress 👍
I just love Kathy
Bates, one of a kind
She sure is!
Sweet & realistic. They both portrayed authentically the ins & outs of relationships, emotional issues, personhood, & sobriety. Well done. Kathy is beautiful! LOVE is why we are here on earth. To love & care for one another.❤
isn't it something though, when one changes themselves they want to be single again! weight loss, sobriety, financial gain, lottery win also, on and on!
What a beautiful movie. The acting is amazing.
Love this movie 🎥 Kathy is such a beautiful woman and actress 😊the whole cast of the movie is amazing 😊❤
Great Story with well done acting. Can't understand EMS or Firefighters being in a volunteer role - for all the professionalism required of them.
I know what you mean. BUT we do have volunteer soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen. Also volunteer policemen!
At least, here in the UK, we do. 🇬🇧
@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree My cousin talked of having volunteer firemen fighting their kitchen fire on New Year's eve. My uncle waited at the door to let them in, but they bashed it in on arrival. Slightly inebriated state.
I wouldn’t want a volunteer nurse or doctor.
Kathy Bates is my favorite actress. She can do anything!
A beautiful and touching movie. Kathy Bates as always was wonderful ❤
Really great movie
Kathy Bates sure doesn’t disappoint.
Enjoy ❤
THANK YOU for creating such a multi-level beautiful love story, especially an ending worthy of the story and the actors! ❤️
Yes, she is amazing , love watching her movies, I would love to meet her and sit down and chat with her .
WOW kathy is just mesmerizing , she really is and the actor that played her husband was exceptional . Well cast , beautiful story , felt like a true story . Very realistic and believable . Great movie ;D Thank you
It was based on a memoir, by Jane stern
She's so cute in this role, rediscovering her Towanda side (Fried Green Tomatoes). All wide eyed and beaming joy. Bates really knows how to light up a room. Amazing actress.
Wish they would make more movies with more real couples like this one ❤
Imagine taking control of one's life is to be a service being to others. I get it!
Excellent movie. Tear jerker at the end. Kathy Bates has always been in movies which you learn something from. The movie was kinda slow but the comedy made up for it.
This is one of the best movies I have seen this century!!!
That is high praise indeed. Thanks for the nice comments, Kat!
❤ agree
This is one of my all time favorites!! I have it on DVD but, when it popped up in my feed I couldn't resist!! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome!
Phlebotomists get to the point. 😁
@@daniellamcgee4251 Hahahaha!
Ive never heard about this movie. I saw Kathy Bates name, im in. I love her..
very good, love Kathy Bates. She's got spunk, funny and wonderful.
Love this movie and Kathy Bates.
We're so sorry for your loss, Cynthia. Thanks for sharing your story.
Sorry you lost your husband. Hope you're doing OK. God bless you.
So sorry for the loss of your husband.
What a good movie! No F-bombs, just a really great movie.
I loved the book and bought it for my late sister-in-law as a Christmas gift. A friend from Fairfield County found out where and when Jane had her ambulance meetings and I tracked her down to sign the book. My SIL was an EMT and driver AND 911 dispatcher for over 20 years. Jane was very gracious to me. Yes, Kathy Bates is awesome in every single role.
